"Oh nothing… As of yet. I'll tell you when I have an idea." He yawned softly.
"Oh nothing… As of yet. I'll tell you when I have an idea." He yawned softly.
”And what? You just expect me to stay here until then?” Liz crossed her arms. ”Cause that won't happen.”
"You seemed like you wanted to stay when that piece of sh** was here, now you don't?" He raised a brow.
Liz walked up to him and slapped him across the face. ”That’s for getting on my last nerve. If James is dead, which I still don't believe, I won't have you disrespect him.” she warned with a furrowed brow. ”And it's not the location, it's who you’re with. If you think I’m going to be stuck here with you, then you can jump in front of the Swarm!”
"Meh, no thanks, they were an accident. I don't wish to go and meet and accident we created." He shrugged, not flinching at the slap.
”You made them?” she said, completely floored by the news. She took a step back in shock. ”How… an accident? Why would you… W-what were you trying to do?” she asked.
"Oh just… Experiments, I made a much better one after those failures." He shrugged.
”B-better? Better how?” she asked a little terrified. Maybe it's a good thing James isn't here right now… I don't think he’d react well to any of this.
"Oh, you'll see." He grinned before teleporting outside the cave and dragging a scorched, disfigured and bloody figure with limbs missing. It was human though and was wearing the same clothes James had been, all burnt up and ripped.
"Here, take this piece of junk." He threw the body over.
She jumped back a little as the body was thrown at her. The smell of burnt hair and flesh nearly made her retch as her eyes stung, soon filling with tears. No… No. It can't be… This isn't real! It's just a nightmare! Wake up, Lizzie. Wake up!
"He put up a good fight but was still… Weak." The man yawned.
Liz wasn't listening anymore. Her eyes were tightly closed. Her body was trembling. She just wanted to leave this place. She wanted to go back to the ship… back to the med-bay… She wanted to be with James. To forget this had happened. For all of this to… ”Just go away!” she didn't realize she was yelling.
"A pity he's gone forever though," He said and shrugged.
"He probably wasn't that important."
Liz opened her eyes, which were now black, and glared at him. ”GO TO HELL!” she shouted, thick sharp black spikes shooting towards him.
"Ah Fiesty it seems," He teleported behind her and whispered something.
"Why do you care what happens to him again?"
A spiked black flail formed in her hand and she spun to face him, swinging her new weapon towards his face. ”BECAUSE I LOVE HIM, YOU DAMN MONSTER!”
"And why do you love him?" He took a step back calmly, then to the side.
”Because he’s a good man.” she answered as she attacked him again. ”He’s kind, loving, genuine, protective and he was the only one I could really talk to.” she said, swinging her weapon with each descriptor. ”Things someone like you could never understand!”
"He was," He corrected, smirking.
He teleported away again, this time outside the cave.
Liz ignored comment but was glad he had left, leaning tiredly against the wall. She still didn't want to believe that James was… No, he couldn’t be. This place was just a dream. She looked at the body and sighed softly. The lake! It might be a long shot but… She forced herself upright and had the black threads form a stretcher underneath the dead body and imagined strong spider-like legs growing out the sides to carry it.
The night had covered the sky, going out now was incredibly dangerous. Especially when there were loud roars and earth-shattering howls from deep within the forest.
If you wished to reach the forest, you would need to hurry.
Liz was a bit scared by all the sounds but if this was going to work at all, it needed to be done sooner rather than later. ”God, I hope this works.” she mumbled as a quick prayer before darting out towards the lake with the ”spider-stretcher” following behind her.
A loud crash sounded about 300 metres away, followed by another and another. The noise becoming closer and closer.
Liz didn't look behind her until the water was up to her hips and the magic had carried the body in after her. ”If this is real, then please work.” she murmured, before looking around.
A voice sounded, then another. And another, water particles began to raise, a chorus of humming began. Out of nowhere, a multitude of bright flames ignited around the lake as figures in robes surrounded the lake. Singing in unison as the body began to sink into the water, deeper and deeper.
