She nodded a little. ”Ok.” she said as she slowly let go of him so he could take care of that little chore. ”Hurry back. It’ll get cold without you.” she smirked, kissing him before he left.
She nodded a little. ”Ok.” she said as she slowly let go of him so he could take care of that little chore. ”Hurry back. It’ll get cold without you.” she smirked, kissing him before he left.
"Meh, let it be cold." His eyes flashed red and blue for a second before quickly heading out and placing the fish at a visible distance from the camp. He then looked around and entered back in.
Liz noticed his eyes change color again and sat up as he left the cave. ”Are you alright?” she asked calmly as he came back. Red was a new color for him and she didn't know if she should be worried or not.
"Course. Why wouldn't I be?" He didn't glance at her one bit and lay back onto the grass.
She frowned a little and looked at him. ”Because your eyes flashed red and now you won't look at me.” she pointed out gently. ”Did I upset you before you left?”
"You? Upset me? You wouldn't even upset a fly you're that… Nice." He said as he closed his eyes.
”While I appreciate the compliment, I’m having a hard time believing that you're not upset.” she said, laying beside him. ”What’s wrong?”
"Nothing." He was cold. Physically and mentally. Cold to the bone.
"Why do think so?"
”Your attitude, for one.” she said honestly. ”And second… you're actually freezing.” she pointed out, rubbing her hands against his torso to warm him back up.
"Im like that." He muttered.
"No need to do that Lieutenant." He moved away to stop her from rubbing his torso.
”Well, excuse my insubordination Commander, but I don't want the man I care about to get hypothermia.” she scowled at his attitude. ”And if you're acting again, I’ll make sure you stay in med bay longer.” she threatened.
There was another flash of red as 'James' got up.
"Love? Why… Is everything so cold, so… empty.." 'James' showed no sign of knowing what had occured.
”James? Are you…” Liz sighed as he seemed to go back to normal. ”Here. Let me help you with that.” she said, wrapping her arms around him in an effort to use her body heat to warm him up. ”I don't know why. All I know is your eyes flashed red and you were acting even more distant than before we spoke to Helwaz… when he called us ”mates”.”
'James' didnt say anything, he only pulled her closer to him and gave her a tight hug, kissing her deeply as he did so.
Liz sighed a little and closed her eyes as she returned the hug. She was still worried about him and his… ”magical schizophrenia” but the kiss was almost reassuring and she was grateful for it.
'James' moved a bit as he held her against the floor, stopping her from moving as he continued to kiss her.
Liz frowned a little as she was pinned. Normally, she didn't care much about positions but… Something about this didn't feel right. ”Mmm… James?” she said a little softly.
'James' grinned and chuckled as he looked up.
"Yes love?" He asked as he held her close.
”I don't… think we should do this right now.” she told him, her voice trembling slightly at first. ”It just doesn't feel like the right time and we really should stay more alert, just in case.” she said much calmer and gentler now.
"Why not… It's gonna be fun. And everything… Everything is gonna be just fine…"He giggled as his voice morphed into someone elses.
As soon as his face shifted, Liz quickly lifted her knee between the stranger’s legs and called on any magic she had to pull him off her and tie him against the cave wall. ”Who the H€!! are you? Where’s James?” she snarled.
"Ah, a pity, it would be rather fun to take someones love." He said as he smirked.
"And that James has a rather interesting mindset towards you."
”You’re sick. Now answer my question.” Liz snapped at him. ”What are you and what have you done to James? I can tell you’re some kind of Shapeshifter obviously so don't waste my time.” she warned, having her magic imitate the tightening of ropes against him.
"Oh… James… He's dead." He laughed louder as he teleported to the otherside of the cave.
Despite her heart stopping for a few seconds at the shapeshifter’s claim, Liz called the black threads to wrap around her hand and wrist before using them as whip, snapping the weapon at him. ”Bull$#¡+, you liar!” she screamed.
