”So we could be on the wrong half.” she surmised, looking away from the mountains and paying more attention to their immediate surroundings. It may have been a primitive way of thinking but, for all she knew about this planet, if the mountains divided the land then they could be in the Empire’s land right now. The texture of the flower in her hand confirmed that they could interact with this dream as if it were real.
”We should probably get started on finding or making a shelter.” she suggested.
"Aye," He agreed and glanced around.
"Should we split up?"
”I’m not sure.” she admitted. ”On one hand, safety in numbers. But at the same time, I see the benefit of covering more ground if we split up.” she answered. ”If we do split up, can we at least stay in visual range?”
"Sure, sure, we shall," He kissed her forehead before reluctantly looking around and reaching further away from Liz.
She smiled a little at the kiss and followed his lead, looking in the opposite direction for either a place for shelter or some type of food depending on how long they were here.
There was a small cave, small enough for the two of them to fit comfortably inside and easily blocked off. Though it would be quite hard to do anything else in it aside from storing a small number of supplies too.
…..
James had wandered around to look for a food source when he looked sighed.
"Liz, I'm afraid we will have to go hungry tonight, we don't know what might kill us and what might not. So we test it."
Liz nodded at his observation. ”Fair enough point. We’ll probably have to do some research on basic survival for this planet when we get back.” she suggested, turning back to look at James. ”Good news is, I found a cave. It's a little small but it’ll work for the night.”
"So we have shelter done, we need to find food, or at least what looks like food and test it when the night comes. Then we'll have some time left."
”Right.” she agreed, going back to her search. Honestly, she was probably going to be a little more reluctant towards mushrooms or berries, since those had a bit more of a reputation for being poisonous unlike fruits… At least that was her understanding.
James glanced at the lake and walked closer to it, trying to see if there was any movement in the water.
"You know, as much as I'm sad about the crash and all this, I'm glad too," He called out.
Liz smiled a little and glanced back over at him. ”Yeah, in a way I guess I am too. I know I'm going to miss home but… aside from the Empire, this is a pretty amazing place to end up.” she said, still looking around.
"And I was lucky enough to… To meet you." He said before focusing on a shadow in the water. He quickly stabbed forward with a makeshift spear he had made a few minutes ago, piercing the creature.
"I got something!"
Liz blushed a little and nodded. ”Lucky day for me too. I’ve never met someone who made me feel the way you do.” she told him, glad there was no one else around to hear them… Otherwise, it would be a little embarrassing to say that so casually.
”What is it?” she asked, taking a few quick steps over to him.
"Some type of marine creature, like a fish but more fleshed up and large, there are also these fins, they are made of bones and are like… Like wings."
”Nice.” she smiled as she saw the alien-fish. ”Hope it's actually edible. It kind of looks like a water dragon.” she commented.
"Except the leg part," He got up and looked around for some tall large leaves, then wrapped the fish in them and looked at Liz.
"We need to make a barrier for that cave of yours too,"
”I was thinking we could use some branches to disguise it.” she told him. It may have been an overly simple option but it seemed like the only thing they could do. Even if it only worked for visual defense.
"True, and we could see whether they will eat the fish." He nodded before walking near the beach and grabbing some driftwood.
"Come on,"
”Assuming they have a similar biology to ours.” she agreed as she walked over to help him with the wood. ”You said you thought there was something special about the water… Any ideas on what it might be?” she asked, already figuring that it could be magic in some way.
"I don't know… Like, rejuvenating magic… I think," He said hesitantly as he moved it near the cave then grabbed a big, sharp rock and broke the wood into three bits. He then went to the large grass and fibres and tied up the wood into a frame. Leaning it against the cave entrance and sticking it into the ground.
"Now we just leaves and branches to cover the frame."
(I assume this isn’t open anymore.)
Liz nodded and started to gather some nearby branches that they could use for the shelter. ”That’s pretty interesting.” she commented, glancing back at the water before bringing the branches back to the site. She had to bite her lip a little to keep from making a ”Fountain of Youth” joke.
('m not sure actually, Fanatic, what do you think?)
"I suppose we should quickly finish this before having a swim. We only have 2 hours of sunlight."
(I don't mind if he/they wants to join. It's your RP, so final call is yours.)
”Yes, sir.” Liz smiled at him as he mentioned swimming and helped him work on the camouflage. She did blush a little at one small detail about getting into the water… As far as she was aware, neither of them were wearing a swimsuit.
(well then sure, you may join.)
