"It's fine," He muttered as he got up, slightly groaning.
"Thanks, I appreciate it."
"It's fine," He muttered as he got up, slightly groaning.
"Thanks, I appreciate it."
She nodded slowly. ”Ok. I just don't want you to hurt yourself more.” she told him sincerely. ”The sooner you heal, the sooner you can get out of here.” she smiled.
”I mean it. I can't draw personally but you're really good.”
"I suppose," He smiled weakly before complying and laying back onto the bed.
"Thanks Liz, thank you for everything…"
”Thank you for saving my life out there.” she smiled sweetly and kissed his cheek.
"And thank you for existing, who knows what might have happened if I never met you." He kissed her back and said softly.
”You really know how to make a girl feel special.” She giggled, blushing more. Despite being a big flirt herself, it wasn't often that people said stuff like this back to her.
"I do? Huh.. I suppose I should just continue being myself then," He grinned and said.
”I’d like that.” she agreed, sitting back up. ”And I’ll save most of my flirting for you… Or on missions, depending on the situation.” she offered, lightly tapping his nose to punctuate who she meant.
"Is that so," He smiled.
"That will be fun," He kissed her and hugged her warmly.
”I’m sure it will.” She smiled and kissed him back, gently returning the hug as she didn't want to aggravate any of his injuries.
"Well, what should I do now?" He murmured.
"Have any ideas? I don't want to just be stuck here,"
Liz shrugged. ”I don't know but I don't think I should sneak out again tonight.” she told him. ”We could just talk again, like in the dream thing.”
"Yeah, that'll be nice. I'd like to get to know the person I love," He smirked as he said this.
"How was life before you decided to join the military?"
She smiled shyly at hearing that he loved her again. She liked how her heart fluttered a little when he said that and was glad that he meant it too. ”I… I love you too.” Was that the first time they had used that word to each other? It felt like it to her.
”Life before? It was alright. I was an only child but I had a couple of younger cousins that I got to help take care of.”
James smiled brightly when he heard those words,
"I see, did that go well for you?" He asked.
She nodded. ”I think so. I had a lot of fun with them. Two boys and a little girl.” she chuckled. ”You ever heard of a WWE tea party before?” she grinned at the memory.
"No? Though logic makes me have some idea on it," He raised a brow.
"Please enlighten me then,"
She was holding back laughter as she started explaining. ”Well, you're probably on the right track. We didn't actually wrestle but we all dressed up as fancy looking wrestlers and even came up with names for the outfits while we sat around Katie's tea table and ate cookies with milk in the little plastic set.”
James stifled his laugh as he grinned.
"That must have been interesting,"
”It was.” she laughed almost until she couldn't breathe.
Once she finally did calm down, she turned to James. ”What about you?” she asked still smiling. ”What was your life like before?”
"Peaceful… It was nice and happy, and since the place was a colony, you would always feel like you did something… It was good." He said as he thought about that time.
"Me and my sister, we used to go out and have fun all the time…" He chuckled.
"She would steal the bike keys from the shed and we would go for an adventure."
She sighed a little and looked at him. ”That does sound nice. I’m a little jealous of that since I grew up in a bit more of a city. I never got to feel like I did anything important… Except to my family.” she said, shaking her head slightly.
”Your sister sounds like a fun person.” Liz laughed a little. ”Wish I could have gotten to meet her.”
"Unfortunately… You can't.." He sighed as he looked away, lying his head on the pillow.
"And here, in this new world, you may be able to do something important, something remembered by everyone." He looked at her for a second.
”Yeah.” She nodded sadly. She knew they were stuck here. Actually, she wouldn't be surprised if everyone else thought they were all dead by now.
Liz almost smiled at his suggestion. ”I mean, I did just take a Dragon out of the sky.” she chuckled a little. ”But honestly I didn't join to be a hero.”
"I didn't either, to be honest… I just joined so I could protect… So none could meet the same fate as my family did." He sighed.
