Vesper watched Aquila for a moment, then returned his attention to the others.
(I live!)
(I’m in pain- but I live!)
Alpha looked around the circle. An odd bunch, that’s for sure. She flipped the front left section of her hair to get everyone’s attention. “Ok. So our parents won’t notice if we sneak out to do something, because, who are we kidding, who here actually likes to be at fancy parties without anything to do? The majority right?”
Cassie hesitated. "But, if we get caught…" she paused, then shook her head. "Whatever. How are we going to sneak out?"
Vesper was quiet. No way was he volunteering his abilities. Sure, he'd come along, but he wasn't going to use his gift.
“We go upstairs, make a rope or find a rope, and climb out the window. They won’t notice were gone until we’re gone. Besides we won’t be gone for that long.” (Yes they will) Alpha smiled and leaned against the wall. “Easy peasy”
Cassie paused. "They're definitely going to notice. But… I'm getting tired of listening to my parents, so I guess I'm in," she consented.
Alpha grinned and looked around at the others. “Well, the rest of you in?”
Vesper nodded. "I'll go." He glanced at Aquila for a moment, then back at the others.
"I have nothing better to do," he answered truthfully. "So I guess I'm in?"
“Sweet. Anyone else? Or are y’all wimps.” She didn’t mean it of course, but it would get them to come along.
Karina rolled her eyes. Alpha basically was calling her out as she was the only one to reply. And she was no wimp. "Fine," she said, clearly not fully approving the idea.
"So… we're just going to walk out of here?" Aquila confirmed, almost rolling his eyes. It was insane how in depth he went to perfectly plan this interaction, and the impulsiveness of it all was ruining that. He was already making it up as he went… although it came naturally, for some reason. He pushed that thought to the back of his mind for examination at a later time. Right now he had to remain focused.
Vesper shrugged. "I…guess so." He said with a shrug. He wasn't sure why Aquila was acting the way he was. But it didn't matter.
“We shall go upstairs and climb out the window. We must be dramatic!” She flipped her hair once again to accent her point. She turned and walked a few steps before turning her head so everyone could see the mischievous grin on her face. “After all- it’s always more fun when it’s dangerous.”
"I would argue that everything is significantly less fun when it's dangerous, on account of the significant risk of injury," Cassie argued, shaking her head. "But I don't want to get yelled at before we even leave the house, so I suppose that's out best bet. Unless there's a back door, or something."
"I agree. I'm not interested in getting ourselves into something we can't get out of before we even do anything. You get what I mean?" Karina asked, now standing up from her spot on the floor.
Cassie nodded. "So… we look for a back door, rather than climbing out a window, right?" She asked with a pointed stare at Alpha.
Vesper was silent, letting them plan without interruption.
Aquila stood as well, quietly stating, "It'd look weird even if we all just went out the back door." Is this what friends do? Have full length conversations about how to exit a house?
"Weirder than all of us, including several of us who are wearing dresses," she added, "trying to climb out a window?"
He clamped down on his lip to keep the belly-laugh from peeling out. "Second story, remember?" Aquila teased.
Vesper's lip twitched in a small smile, but he didn't say anything. Why is Aquila already so comfortable with them?
