Cassie cringed. "You're messing up your hair," she complained, reaching up to fix it before stopping herself. "Sorry. Sorry."

He gave a small smile. "It's fine." He sighed. "My hair was going to get messed up at some point tonight anyway."

Cassie sighed. "Fine. If you say so," she replied, running a hand through her curls absentmindedly before carefully parting her hair down the middle.

He sighed softly, rubbing a hand across his forehead. He was starting to get a headache. He was tired, so maybe that was why. Not enough sleep.

"I should probably leave you alone. Sorry if I interrupted anything, I didn't want you to feel left out, or anything," she explained quietly, looking down.

He gave her a small smile. "No, it's alright." Left out? I've been left out for years. "It was nice to be able to talk to someone."

"Do you not normally talk to people?" She questioned confusedly.

He hesitated. "No, not really. Most people…don't really talk to me." He said with a shrug.

Cassie frowned. "That's a shame. You seem interesting. I know the feeling, though I generally don't let people talk to me, so it's my fault, really."

He shrugged again. "Yeah…" He chuckled softly. "If you're pushing people away, that is indeed your own fault."
(So how is the group going to get away from the adults and have an adventure?)

Cassie nodded silently, looking down.

He was quiet.

(We gonna run upstairs and jump from the balcony while I fly the ship and Cassie’s shoots a machine gun and people with Lunar gifts do lunar stuff.

Karina simply nodded. "Bingo. All I am is who I am assumed and appear to be," she huffed, staring at her hands. She was trying to keep calm, but the reality of it all was stupid. Infuriating yet saddening.

"Are you… okay?" Aquila asked, the gravity of the question hitting him. Never did he imagine himself consoling the daughter of Linh Cinder. A genuine curiosity slipped into his next question, "And how would you like to be defined?"

Karina raised a brow at the boy before her. It was really strange for someone to be willing to hear her out. Perhaps if they met again like this she might give him more straight of an answer. "Yeah, just peachy," she joked with a weak chuckle. It sounded a bit forced if she was being honest. "And… I'd just like to be seen as everyone else to put it simply," she finished, a sincere smile spreading on her lips.

Alpha stood by her parents in awkward silence. She could practically hear the ticking of time itself as she slowly sidestepped away and quickly walked over by Karina. “Hey. It’s awkward over by the adults. Mind if I join this little party?”

(Was I ever specific on where she kissed Cassie?)

Karina paused a moment on her conversation with the boy. Who she still had no idea what his name was…
She wasn't exactly happy with Cassie and Alpha over their joke earlier, but it seemed that the girl had been crying. The princess sighed and patted the ground beside her. "Be my guest," she replied before turning to the other. "If that's alright?" she asked the boy before her.

Alpha smiled meekly and sat where Karina patted the ground and looked at the boy to make sure it was ok.

Alpha Kelsey, Scarlet’s daughter, Aquila marked, taking in her appearance. Stubborn, can overreact. Loves fiercely. He waved a hand, a dip of his chin to show his confirmation. “Of course,” he replied, the previous tension slightly lifted. Karina’s words still danced in his mind, but he shook them off for examination at a later time. “Aquila Hayle.”

Karina smiled to herself, finally happy she knew the boy's name. She didn't know why, but his last name sounded a bit familiar. The girl ignored it. Aquila seemed like a good person so there wasn't any need to be weary. Plus, how could someone be invited to such a party without a relative or parent who was trustworthy? "Good to finally know who you are," after a second she added, "Sir Hayle," in a more serious tone. It was a bit of a joke towards their conversation earlier and Karina allowed herself to laugh. It felt good…

Alpha smiled. “Alpha Kesley. Pleasure to meet ya. Pas un peu pour être ici.“ The last part was mumbled quietly in hopes that her dads wicked sharp ears wouldn’t hear. So, this must be Winter and Jacins son. Hmm. Yeah. She could definitely see the resemblance. She twirled her long red waves. “Sooo… what should we do?”

A small smile slipped onto his mouth at the way Karina addressed him, but he fought off a shudder at the resemblance it took to Sybil's guard. Right eye drifting to Alpha, he shrugged, "What did you say before that?"

(Aww, that is adorable. I highkey want one of the "good" kids to get a crush on one of the "bad" kids and then the "bad" kid is like well darn hecking frick what do I do now and um yeah sorry it's like 1am so I'm just typing everything that comes to mind XD)
