"Does that make it any better?" Cassie cried, her voice raising slightly in pitch. " I've already fallen out enough windows for my liking, thanks very much. "

He raised an eyebrow, fidgeting uncomfortably under Vesper's frequent glances. "So you'll have experience," he pointed out, lowering his right eye to the floor. He needed to keep himself in check.

Vesper sighed softly, looking at the ground. Damn it. I'm going to screw this up. Like everything else. He took a quick breath.

Cassie actually burst out laughing before realizing what she was doing and stopping herself. "Thanks for that… lovely thought, but I think I'll just find a door. If anyone sees me, I'm a good enough actress, I'll think of something."

"That- that's a good idea," he said, surprised he hadn't thought of it himself. "Splitting up. But whoever goes out the window should be… monitored," he decided, right eye locked on Alpha.

"Definitely. Vesper, want to come with me? We can be the only classy people. Except Karina, I guess. I feel like she could be classy no matter what," she said thoughtfully before snapping back to reality and looking down. Why do you always do this?

Vesper chuckled softly. "Sure." He said. "Though I don't exactly have class."

Cassie raised an eyebrow. "Going out the door instead of the second-story window constitutes that we are classier. This is a known fact," she told him, standing up and poking around for the nearest door.

"Eh, this is all subjective," Aquila smirked, before aiming a not so subtle jab. "Certain people might want to just go out the front door, though."

"Maybe certain people aren't good at convincing their parents they need fresh air," Cassie replied offhandedly.

Vesper rolled his eyes. Certain people don't have parents here, so it doesn't matter. He said silently in his mind.

Sighing, Cassie started walking, pausing briefly to tell her mother she had a headache and needed to get away from the noise. She unintentionally slammed the door behind her, and leaned against the outer wall to wait.

After a few minutes, Vesper followed her out, closing the door quietly. "Okay, now what?" He asked, looking at her. He really wanted to talk to Aquila, but he guessed that that would have to wait.

"Now, I guess we wait for the complete imbeciles inside to manage to go from the inside of the house to the outside," she explained slowly, as if speaking to a small child. After a brief pause, she shook her head. "Sorry about that, I'm not sure where that came from."

Vesper blinked, rubbing the back of his neck. "I…it's okay." He said. "I'm used to it."

Awkwardly, Aquila trailed his eyes to the three others. "So, two people out the front door and someone goes with me to the second story window?" How could this ever be a planned sentence?

“Ok. I’m going to the window. I’ve got some black Nike shorts on under this skirt and I’m ready to climb outta window!” She ran upstairs to find a window next to a tree. She opened a door and saw a sturdy limb outside a window. score! She opened the windows and took off her skirt so she was left in black shorts, the black top, and the red leather jacket. Alpha put the skirt on the tree and shimmed to the ground. She tied her jacket around her waist and ran around the house to find the others, letting out a breathless “Hey!”

Cassie gave a small wave to Alpha before turning back to Vesper. "Well, you shouldn't be, that was stupid of me. I'll punch the next person who does that." Hopefully not me.

“Well- I could not help but overhear your conversation, and my method of climbing out of a window was quite effective! And I am not an imbecile!” Alpha stood up as tall as she could (which is not that tall) and looked up at Cassie.

Aquila blinked twice before slipping out the front door, stopping outside and cupping his face with his hands. Levana needs to be avenged. That's your purpose. Get your act together. Gulping down a few deep breaths, he strolled around the house to the group, joining silently.

Cassie didn't move. "Well, you're not dead yet, so I guess that's a plus," she commented with a wry smirk.

“Who would’ve killed us?”

"You," Aquila quipped quietly.

“True!” A slow smile slid across Alphas face at the thought.

A similar smile grew on Aquila's face. Me.
