(I'm sure we'll be there soon aha)
(also sorry I kinda died, im at work lol-)
(Oh they will. Very very soon.)
Cassiopeia smiled at Colton. She just put the girl's creation on top of her book and carefully put it back in the black bag. She would do something with them when they arrived at Hogwarts. When the trolley witch came around, she bought a few chocolate frogs, cauldron cakes, three licorice wands, and a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. She looked at her companions and smiled. "Wonder if we're almost there yet…" She had changed into her school robes not too long after the girl left their compartment. "Any of you want a chocolate frog? I might've bought a little too many."
"I'm alright… I'm not really allowed to eat too much sugar." Colton smiled sheepishly, fidgeting a bit. He gently stroked Citrine, who seemed to enjoy the attention. "This ride always seems to take so long… do you think we'll be at Hogwarts soon?" He asked curiously.
"Sure, chocolate is great but only if you manage to eat it before Coco here jumps on your frog." Nathan smirked. He reached into his bag and took out his wand and robes. He put them on but left the tie open, using his wand to tie it for him.
Cassiopeia grinned as she passed Nathan a chocolate frog. She put the rest away in her bag and looked out the window. It had gotten dark, and that was really the only indication that they were getting near. "I say about an hour or two? I'm guessing from how dark it is."
And sure enough, about two hours later, the train came to a full stop. During this time, Cass was half-asleep and she quickly woke up when she heard students walking down the aisles. For a minute, she was confused about what was happening and where she was until she realized she was on the Hogwarts Express. "Oh, we finally arrived. That took…less than usual?" Cassiopeia said as she grabbed her black bag and stood up.
Colton had dozed off by the time the train stopped, so Citrine bumped into his face until he woke up. "Mmm…?" He glanced around sleepily and got to his feet, rubbing at his tired eyes with one small fist and grabbing his trunk with the other. "I guess we made it, then…" He yawned and followed the others out of the compartment, still pretty out of it.
Nathan stayed awake after Cassiopeia and Colton fell asleep. Aways be on your guard, probably the only useful thing his father had told him. He gathered his bearing and used his wand to put Echo's harness around her chest then followed the others out of the compartment. He left Echo with the people taking their luggage to the school and went to get a carriage with the others.
Celeste wondered out of the train dreamily, she looked at the school she had attended for the past 6 years, now going to be 7; and she stood in awe of its beauty. No matter how long she'd been here, she always felt a nice feeling, as if seeing something new, every time she saw the castle. And she felt she always would, no matter how many times she had been here for schooling, she dragged herself slowly into a carriage.
Jada had exited the Hogwarts Express, walking side-by-side with Regulus and Barty trailing behind them. They were talking, just a mundane conversation about the upcoming year. Jada had finally changed into her robes, feeling absolutely at home in her emerald and silver. The moon loomed in the sky, sending white beams of light throughout the forest. Hagrid's gruff voice directed the first years to the boats while the rest of the students took the carriages to Hogwarts.
Jada stroked the thestral's back before hopping into her vehicle. Regulus and Barty didn't ask, they both knew she could see them, but none of them knew how. To see a thestral, you had to have witnessed death. Jada couldn't think of anything.
Celeste looked up as a girl in Slytherin robes lead herself into the carriage Celeste was sitting in, as the girl sat down across from her, Celeste gave her a soft smile and wave, before quickly putting her hands in her lap and looking out the window, which was carved into the door.
Colton followed Nathaniel and Cassiopeia into a carriage, dragging his trunk into it with a soft huff. He wasn't proficient in any levitation spells yet, and the trunk was pretty heavy. Regardless, he got it up and sat down with Citrine looking around curiously from the collar of his robes. It had been a while since they had been here, after all.
Cassiopeia smiled when she saw the thestral that was going to pull their carriage. She immediately recognized it as the one she had encountered during her first year. How she recognized it, she didn't know. She just did. She stroked the thestral's back that she had named Blake during her first year. "Hello Blake, it's nice to see you again," She whispered. Blake nuzzled her and she laughed quietly, before hopping into the carriage with Nathan and Colton.
(Haha, the second part of what was supposed to be in my previous post.)
The ride to Hogwarts was quick. Certainly a lot quicker than the time it took for them to arrive at Hogwarts from Platform 9 1/2. The ride was silent. No one dared to talk, as any conversation the students started now would be interrupted in less than five minutes. As she looked outside the window of the carriage, she wondered why the first years had to take the boats with Hagrid instead of taking a carriage. It just didn't make sense to her.
As the carriages came to a stop, and the students excited, Cassiopeia helped Colton with his trunk. She wanted to say something about it, but decided against it. She looked at Hogwarts with awe. She had forgotten how big and magnificent the castle was over the summer. "Ever wondered why the first years have to take the boats across the lake, while the others take the carriages?" She asked out loud, not knowing if she'd get an answer from the students around her.
Colton thanked Cassiopeia for the help and followed her closely, looking around as he walked. Citrine settled back in the collar of his robes, hissing softly to herself. Colton looked up when Cassiopeia asked the question and shrugged. "Dunno. I've always wondered that myself, honestly… I-I fell into the lake last year." He laughed weakly.
Jada politely waved to the girl that entered her cart and continued her Quidditch-related conversation with Regulus and Barty. The carriage ride was nothing notable, the same thing that Jada had dealt with the past three years. Jada was the first out of the carriage when it finally stopped at Hogwarts. She helped Barty and Reg out of the cart, the trio slowly beginning their walk to Hogwarts.
No matter how many times she saw it, the sight would always take her breath away. The towering stone building nestled among evergreen trees and neighbored by a lake inhabited by a giant squid. It was her second home. She loved her family with all of her heart, but Hogwarts felt so much different… so magical - no pun intended. The students filed into the school through the giant oak doors, making their way into the dining hall and taking a seat at their tables, the houses marked by enormous tapestries embroidered with house colors and mascots.
(you guys I wanna share something with ya before I post it to ao3 to see if it's good. That okay?)

Celeste quickly made her way up the stone steps of Hogwarts, she looked up dreamily, staring at the school once again. Before she knew it she had run into someone, A girl in Slytherin robes, she stood up quickly, offering the girl a hand "oh my… i'm terribly sorry." She said to the Slytherin girl.
Colton bumped into Celeste's back when she bumped into Jada, stumbling a bit and only narrowly managing to not fall down the stairs. "Sorry!" He looked around Celeste to see who they'd run into and tilted his head curiously to the side. "Oh! Hi, miss… Jada, right? How are you?" He asked.
Jada narrowed her eyes and fixed her glasses. "Watch where you're going next time," She muttered coolly. She raised an eyebrow when the second year addressed her. "Jada Hawthourne. Fine, thank you." Jada gave a curt nod and caught up with Reg and Barty, who were already sitting in the middle of the Slytherin table.
Celeste sucked in and retracted her hand from the air, she stood there for a moment and then continued walking fastly, practically running into the castle, and sitting at the edge of the Ravenclaw table.
Cassiopeia smiled understandably at Colton. "I did too, though the great squid grabbed me with its tentacle and put me back into the boat." From the corner of her eye, she saw Hagrid and the first years making their way across. She smiled slightly and walked behind Colton and Celeste. She watched how Celeste bumped into the girl that had told them to shut up earlier and how Colton bumped into Celeste. She didn't say anything as she started to pass Colton but then looked at him. "I'll see you around, Colton. If your brother keeps bothering, my offer still stands," She said with a mischievous smile. She quickly made her way to the Gryffindor table and sat at the end.
"Alright… u-uh… thanks, miss Cassiopeia. I'll see you around!" Colton smiled and waved to her as he headed over to the Slytherin table, hiding amongst some of the taller students so he could hide from his brother during the Sorting.
