Nathan waved goodbye to the pair he was with and walked to the hufflepuff table. He tried his hardest to avoid any conversation by bringing out a book on magical architecture, but a half-blood girl saw what he was reading and struck a conversation. Nathan was irritated first, wanting to read and enjoy his dinner in peace, but this girl was matching his interest in the different aspects of design. He found that talking to the girl, Noori, was quite refreshing.
Celeste looked around wildly, waiting for the feast to be over so she could go up to her dorm and draw. Her chest hurt and her breaths became shallow; every year, surrounded by a ton of people, she had a panic attack, no matter who was watching, she had stopped taking her medication over the summer, she told her dads it was so 'she didn't have to depend on them to calm me down, and pull me out of a panic attack' but sometimes she regretted her decision. Her mind swirled fastly, and she focused on doing the breathing exercises her therapist taught her.
Deep breath in, deep breath out, deep breath in, deep breath out she told herself.
Cass watched as Professor McGonagall led the first years into the Great Hall, and the sorting started. She waited anxiously for it to end, and clapped whenever a first-year was sorted into Gryffindor or Slytherin. She did clap quietly for the latter, not wanting her house to hear her.
"Pandora Reynolds! … Ravenclaw!"
"Elias Madison! ….. Gryffindor!"
"Edward Rosethorn! … Hufflepuff!"
"Cordelia Usoro! … Slytherin!"
The feast started how it usually started. Dumbledore said a few words, and the students started eating. She looked up at the High Table every once in a while as she ate. About an hour later, the feast ended, and the students were taken into their respective Common Rooms. As she watched the first years interact with the older students, Cass smiled and went up to her dormitory and sat down on her bed. Her roommates where probably congratulating and welcoming the first years. Her belongings where beside her bed and she grabbed the black bag that was on top of her luggage. She took out the book that she had been reading in the train. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. It was a birthday present from her dad. She opened the book and used the moonlight entering the room as a reading light.
(definitely didn't use this as a chance to sort the others. definitely not)
Celeste continued her drawing of the nice people on the train, she started shading and sat the sketchbook on her bedside table, she looked around, her watch telling her it was 1:03 in the morning, she opened her lanterns that hung above her bed and blew the flame out. Getting up and throwing on a navy blue tank top, and tucking it in to her matching flannel, pajama pants, pairing them with bright yellow fuzzy socks. she took her wand and muttered the disillusionment charm, while pointing the wand at herself. She then wandered down the hallways, until she got to the observatory tower, where she crossed her arms and sat them on the railings, and observed the bright and luminous midnight sky.
Colton headed to the Slytherin dormitory with the rest of his house and was changing when his brother came in to scold him again. They yelled at each other for a while and Kieran only left after Colton started crying, although he implied that the argument wasn't over. Colton hid himself under the covers in his bed, sobbing and hyperventilating as Citrine softly spoke to him to calm him down. He eventually managed to fall asleep, although he didn't sleep well and he had dark circles under his eyes the next morning.
Celeste finally went back down to her dormitory, when her watch read 4:30 in the morning, where she fell fast asleep.
(also I forgot to mention the fact that Celeste is an insomniac, and takes meds for that and her anxiety.)
(Colton is unmedicated oops)
(this RP is kinda dead oop-)
(Not really lol, it's only been a day?)
(eh, im very impatient, so this feels like an eternity to me.)
Nathan had been in the hufflepuff common room talking to Noori about different things. She left to go sleep a while back but now he was just alone in the room, sitting in front of the fireplace, laying in the couch. It was nice and warm, a thin blanket protecting him from the coolness of the dorms. The fire crackled and popped, and the smell of it made Nathan nostalgic for the camping trips he used to go on with his sister. He gave in to nostalgia, letting the memories roll through his mind like a video, not noticing when it got fizzy and he fell asleep.
After the sorting, Jada, Reg, and Barty made their way down the stairs, past Slughorn's classroom, and to the Slytherin Common Room. Thomas Avery, the 5th year prefect and Slytherin Quidditch Captain, spoke excitedly with first years. Thomas's best friend, Hayden Mulciber, joined in on the conversation, joking around with the new kids and telling them all of the magical things that happened at Hogwarts.
They entered the Slytherin living space and Jada felt at home. She sighed, breathing in the musty dungeon air that she had learned to love all those years ago. She spoke with Reg and Barty for a little while longer before deciding that it was about time to turn in. Ancient Runes started first thing the next morning, and Jada couldn't wait to get back to her favorite subject taught by her favorite teacher, Professor Skye Levinson.
Celeste got up, putting on her dress robes with long, red, yellow, and blue waved socks, that were so big, one hung from her ankle, bunching up. She walked down to Divination, and sat in a seat in the middle, where she looked around, observing all the students that walked in through the classroom door.
Colton got up in the morning and got dressed, yawning tiredly. He stayed in the shadows to avoid being noticed by Kieran and managed to slip out of the dormitory undetected. Once outside, he hurried to his first class, Charms.
Celeste smiled as Professor Trelawney came in, announcing they'd be predicting the future, by talking about things they had experienced over summer vacation, Celeste looked around for a willing partner, but everyone seemed to be paired with people they knew already; she realised she had not made a single friend in all her years at Hogwarts, unless you counted James Potter asking to copy her homework, no one ever thought of Celeste as their bestfriend, remembered her even, and her chest panged with hurt and unease all these years striving to make a difference and be remembered, and no one in this class even knows my name. she thought.
(Do they all have to be in different classes?)
(I don't think so, but most of them were different years aha)
(we could make them bump into each other in the courtyard or something, during lunch-)
(sorry for disappearing. I was catching up on school and sadly on sleep)
Cassiopeia woke up with her book in her hands. She yawned as she rubbed her eyes, shut her book, and left it on her bed. She quickly changed into her school robes and combed her hair. She had woken up later than the others at Gryffindor Tower and was running late. She went down to the Great Hall to have some breakfast, and after breakfast, everyone was given their schedule. She looked down and sighed. First thing first, Herbology.
Well, at least it isn't History of Magic. Cassieopeia thought as she got up from the table and started making her way outside. As the day progressed, Cassiopeia got that returning feeling of wanting to drown herself in hot chocolate. By the time lunch came around, she was already exhausted and wanted nothing more than for classes to be over for the day. "This is what you get for sleeping later than usual," She said to herself.
once barely eating anything for lunch, Celeste went and sat on the stone wall in the courtyard, she drew the surrounding scenery, and added some butterflies to it, before tucking her wand behind her ear. She then sniffed, the overwhelming yet suffice scent of nature filled her nostrils and she smiled to herself.
"Stop trying to leave! This conversation isn't over!" An irritated voice said out in the courtyard. "I don't want to talk to you! Just go away!" Colton replied, trying to walk away from his brother when Kieran roughly grabbed his wrist. "Ow! Let go of me, Kieran! T‐That hurts!" Colton paled a bit, struggling against his brother's grasp. Kieran only held tighter to his wrist and dragged him closer so he could continue lecturing him more quietly. Colton shook his head violently and closed his eyes, looking very anxious. Finally, Kieran released his wrist and Colton ran off to hide behind a tree, trembling as he looked down at the blooming bruises on his arm.
As she watched the other students make their way to the Great Hall for lunch she realized she wasn't really hungry. Cassiopeia knew that not getting at least something to eat would come back for revenge later, but she really didn't care. Instead, she went to the courtyard and stopped. On the stone wall, sat the girl from the train with the clay mushrooms and butterflies. And if she squinted, she could make the figure of Colton, hiding behind a tree. Carefully, she made her way to Colton, hoping that something bad hadn't happened to him. She really wasn't looking forward to bring someone to the infirmary on the first day. Though she was sure there was at least some idiot who fell and was sent to the infirmary. As she reached Colton, she quietly said, "Hey, are you alright?"
Celeste raised her head to look at the people behind the tree, every noise seemed muted, except for their voices, she got up, walking over slowly, towering over the other two people, "are you alright?" she asked Colton quietly, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear, revealing her saturn earrings.
Colton jumped when he heard someone talking to him, holding his arm closer to his chest to hide it as he looked up to see who had spoken. "O-Oh… it's just you. Yeah, I'm… I'm fine." He replied, looking down at the ground after a moment. He still looked pretty nervous, and he tugged down his sleeve to make sure the forming bruises were covered.
