Tundra looked around her new surrounds. She was afraid to take her cloak off.
Aramis took her own cloak off and hung it up on a hook, then quickly went and it the lamps and candles down and up stairs.
Tundra moved her hood off her head and moved her hair atop of the hood. She rubbed her hands together, despite her magic being gone, she still felt the bitter cold that followed her.
“Tundra,” Aramis said, “If I might ask, what powers do you have?”
"Oh, Ice," Tundra responded quickly, "That includes, frost and all that other nice cold stuff."
“Interesting.” She said, lighting the fire pit.
Tundra walked over to it, "Yeah. Though it's weird not having them. How do you people do it?"
She smiled a little, “It’s hard, I know. But you get used to not relying on your magic after a while.”
Tundra held her arms, "I hope it's soon."
“Me too, I don’t know how long I can take of this.”
Tundra looked to her, "I arrived in Adarlan a week ago. And I'm dying."
"Dying? How so?" Aramis asked, her eyes widening slightly and she offered Tundra a chair by the fire.
"Well let's just say if I was on my own in the open, I would have been dead a long time ago. Metal daggers? Not used to. They feel so strange in my hand, and I hate not being able to conjure my magic at will. It's so empty," Tundra groaned as she sat down. She was dying figuratively.
"Oh, you're not dying literally. That's a plus but yes, I know what you mean. It has taken me some time to get used to not being able to use my powers at will, I still feel empty but not as empty as I was."
Tundra leaned her head back, "I have so much respect for you. This is horrible."
"It'll get better, hopefully. It's just a matter of time." She said, walking to the kitchen and pouring some water.
Enru chimed in quietly, “It’s kind of weird thinking that there’s still magic in Wendylln. I barely remember what it felt like.”
Tundra laughed slightly, "I suppose. Enru, magic is like a well inside of you. It's always there and at the ready. The trick is to only get a trickle of it sometimes. I remember the first time I used magic I ended up creating a snow cloud that followed me around the house."
Enru smiled, “I accidentally used my powers when I saw my childhood crush walking down the street. I knocked over all the pots and pans in the kitchen when I saw him,” Enru laughed at the fond memory, until he remembered the last bit, “I got a lashing for that one.”
"What powers do you have?" Aramis asked, handing them both a glass of water.
Tundra chuckled a little, "That's amazing. I'm sorry you got lashed for something out of your control. Magic is hard?"
“I had air powers. It was incredibly hard to control. I was only a child then, so I could barely control anything. My master had put iron cuffs on my wrists to… dull it,” Enru explained, drinking the water. It tasted so clean, it felt… nice.
Tundra took the glass of water. She drank out of it, the water here could never compare to that in Doranelle. No, she needed to stop comparing the two.
Enru took another sip of his water but then a question sprang upon him, “Why are you here anyways?”
