@Discombra (P.s I am writing the full story on the page called MAYDAY if you wanna check that out :D )
Again, the tape and two photos
Ethan: Is it working?
Roo: Yep, that light flickering is saying its recording.
Ethan: Oh ok, cool…. Um …Hello… Sorry, what are their name's again?
Roo: Mordecai and Nathan.
Ethan: Right them, Hi guys… We got your most recent letter about a week ago and….. well…. Alot of weird shit has happened to be frank.
Roo: We took your advice on not going back to the river dock, but we did do a little more exploring around the forest and we found alot about this area's history. We found this abandon…. What looks to be like some sort of WW2 military base called "Gumtree Outpost"…
Roo: In the yellow building, which Ethan's strong friend Mitch was able to barge down the door, we found a bunch of these documents labelled "Classified: for Authorised personal only" from the Australian defence force.
Ethan: So of course we did the right thing and opened them!
Roo: ……Still probably shouldn't have done that……
Ethan: Regardless, we got alot of valuable insight into the forests history, with a document that talked about the colonisation of the forest.
Roo: Basically, a bunch of white people went and massacred a bunch of aboriginal people, MY PEOPLE, off of their land. We even found a law trail document from 1802, talking about this one little aboriginal girl, that was hung for the crime of witchcraft?
Ethan: White people have a pretty fucked history, we will admit that.
Roo: Yeah but…. your one of the good one's……
Ethan: …….. Are you ok?
Roo: …Huh?… Yeah I'm g…
Ethan: Anyways… We also read these case-files detailing the events that happened during WW2, and what "Gumtree Outpost" did to assist Australia. Apparently, the Outpost was meant to be used as a radio communication's facility, picking up radio traffic from enemy submarines, and funnelling them back to ally ships to coordinate attack's against them. Dorothy Wyatt, the cheif radio officer in the outpost, wrote these…… morbid documents… talking about how she herself was responsible for the sinking of one of her own ally submarines.
Roo: It's fucked up….
Ethan: The documents talk about how Dorothy, one day received a garbled distress signal from an unknown source and hastily assumed the message was an attempt to jam the radar. She sent out a message to the nearest warship, "The Destroyer II" The telling them to scout out for nearby submarines and destroy if necessary. However, what she didn't know was that an ally sub was patrolling nearby, "The QLD Migaloo", and the warship friendly fired onto it, killing 72 people on board. That same sub had held a nuclear reactor in it belly, which was being used for capability testing. By the time word had gotten round that it had sunk, the whole army packed up and relocated to a new area…. leaving only Dorothy and a handful of other behind… to uncover the mysteries behind hearing the voices of people who died on the submarine through radio's.
Roo: So… they never died…. we think.
Ethan: Which might explain the creepy things we saw in the photo last letter were.
Roo: Perhaps
????: Um, you guys forgot about me?
Roo: Oh, right, guy's this is Nyota, shes an exchange student from…. Kenya was it?
Nyota: Aye, I went to the foreign language school down at the sunshine coast. I board there. However when I woke up, all the boarding masters were gone, as though they vanished of the face of the earth. So, me and my classmates have be searching for others…. and thats when I found you both in the forest.
Ethan: Yeah, you punched me in the face.
Nyota: I'm sorry…. I freaked out… I didn't expect to find anyone else.
Roo: Well either way, we now make up a total of 200 students… some of which don't speak english unfortunately… but where surviving still…. and I suppose that's all that matters for now..
Ethan: We hope to hear from you guys again, tell us more about what's happening at your end.
Nyota: Send photos! Peace!
