Runner was completely unconcerned, despite feeling the same presence. There wasn't much he feared after facing off with his dad.

After a few minutes, Eve decided the pink haired girl must be the one following them. If it had been anything or anyone else they would have attacked by now. "Hey, pink haired girl! You can come out now. Maybe introduce yourself." Eve was becoming quite tired of referring to her as the pink haired girl.
Glove continued to silently trail the group–doing no such thing–but hedged around when she heard the familiar sound of a hunting wildebeast–a grunt followed by a huff, then leaves, twigs, and trees being snapped by its massive body as it moved through the forest.
Eve herself heard this, although she did not worry. The very reason she asked the pink haired girl to assist them was that she could protect herself. Although Eve did pull out a dagger, readying it should she need to protect these incompetent fools she called her companions.
Glove stalked farther from the group, eager to test out the javelin and see if she truly wanted to kill two wildebeasts for it. She hoped she did.
He rubbed his face. "It's a wild beast. She can handle it with that new poking stick she has with her. Magic runes and carvings, etcetera, etcetera."
"Poking stick? Really. That's the best you could come up with." Athena raised her eyebrows. "But yeah, she probably can."
"If you want me to say 'magical javelin,' I can. I'm just not one for dramatics."
A few roars and falling trees later, Glove joins the group with four bloody wildebeast horns, stashing them in her bag.
(Sorry, I had gym. Ugh.)
She raised her brows. "How do you know of ze runes?"
"I feel the magic off of it. I could probably take the power out of them and turn that thing back to a normal spear," he said with a shrug. "Not that I'm gonna."
She lit another cigarette, having lost her previous one in the squabble. "No, you could not. These runes are without magic. They need magic to activate. You borrow magic. That won't suffice."
He tilted his head. "And how do you know that?"
"Only who knows runic can activate 'em." She added.
She gestured around her. "Ze spell. You borrow from it to kill me."
"So, there is more to you than simple gravity," he said with a smile. "Secrets to be told, yeah?"
"No." She simply said, then, as if in after thought, said, "I require payment for services. Mercenaries not come cheap."
He rubbed his nose. "I'm not the one to be asking for that. I can't tell you the last time I've had money in my pocket."
She seemed to deflate, but it was hard to tell. "Hmm." He blew some smoke into the wind, fiddling with a pouch securely hooked onto her belt.
He jabbed his thumb to the other two. "Maybe them, if it's that important to you."
"How much?" Athena asked.
((So, if Tessie decided to pop in, it may or may not go well, just sayin
((She won't ))
She slowly inhaled the smoke while she thought. Didn't think they'd take me serious. "1,000 Ruble." She decided.
He laughed. "Ruble? We're in America."
