((Let's just say Runner wondered off and has no idea the girl he hates is joining them. Makes things interesting))
The next day, Runner was standing in the same spot as yesterday, having not gone back to the hotel the night before. It was surprising that he was even up at this time and coherent.
Glove, in a tattered coat with its sleeves ripped off and ripped skinny jeans, leaned against a light post not far from where Runner stood, also waiting for the rest of the group. She was smoking yet another cigarette and had earbuds in her ears, listening to her favorite Russian songs.
Athena strolled up to Runner with a cup of coffee and wondered if he saw Glove. She hoped not. "Where'd you sleep?"
He gestured to the alleyway behind them.
She sighed. "What, are you just masochistic? You could have stayed with me again."
"How is that masochistic? It was out of respect." He said, "I don't like using people's money when I can't pay me back."
Glove popped out an ear bud to better hear them. Her new javelin was strapped to her belt and the ebony spearhead glinted in the sunlight
"You're making yourself sleep outside. There's two beds in my room. I can't very well use both. And if it really matters to you, you can get me waffles as a payment, but I won't let you sleep outside when I have a perfectly good extra bed!"
He rubbed his nose, looking at her for a moment. "I mean…okay, I guess?"
Glove snickered at the conversation. Poor boy, doesn't know how to take what is given to him.
Eve was standing a few feet away, watching this interaction with an amused expression on her face. Same conversation they had yesterday. She thought.
Glove noticed Eve and caught her attention, showing the new weapon then walking towards the forest. Slung on her shoulder was a bag filled with supplies should they need it–as well as room for four wildebeast horns.
Eve decided she was done being patient. Interrupting Runner and Athena's argument, she spoke up. "Look, we don't have time for this. We have to head to Rukil Forest. I grabbed some spare weapons from my house," She gestured to the swords she had strapped to her back. "You're going to have to protect yourself if we're ever going to find Athena's friends." She turned, pausing before adding one last thing. "By the way, I found someone else who'll help. Anyone who complains is getting left behind."
He shrugged. "I already felt her around. I've cooled off, so I'll be fine." He tilted his head. "I don't really need a weapon. I kinda just…am one."
On her way to Rukil Forest, Glove thought about her position. Hmm. I am doing job of mercenary. I am mercenary. Should I charge as mercenary? She thought about Runner and how upset he presumably would be if they had to pay for her services. I will pretend to charge. That is all. She shrugged to herself. I am off duty at moment.
((So, like, Runner was basically made to kill the Vanguard, right
((yeah))
(Alright, so what I said makes sense
Satisfied, Eve continued walking, calling out behind her. "Follow me, the forest is this way."
Glove made it to the forest before the group and leaned against a tree on the outskirts, waiting.
Runner followed, rubbing his nose.
Eve entered the forest, aware of someone watching her. She was unsure whether it was the pink haired girl, or someone else. Despite this, Eve kept moving, keeping her guard up, and prepared to grab a dagger should someone or something dangerous pop out.
Glove trailed behind the group, keeping an eye out for any wildebeasts. I just need two. That is all.
