"Mmm. I don't think it is." She grinned playfully at him.
"Mmm. I don't think it is." She grinned playfully at him.
He leaned over and kissed her, this time holding the contact as his hands traveled up to her upper back.
She leaned into the kiss, wrapping an arm around him and pressing herself closer.
He pulled away for just enough time to say, "I love you."
"I love you more," she murmured.
"Doubtful," he said through the kiss.
"Mm, I don't know. I fell pretty damn hard. That doesn't happen very often. Or easily."
"You were able to keep me in place." Probably the most thoughtful thing he'd said all day.
"True." She prevented him from answering by kissing him again.
He couldn't hold back a smile. So this is what I had been missing for so long.
She smiled as well, pulling him closer to her. Best. Lazy day. EVER.
"I'm really gonna miss you," he mumbled.
"I'm gonna miss you too," she sighed.
"Sucks you gotta pick fights with everyone in the world," he teased gently. "You'd be able to come with me if you didn't."
She scoffed. "I helped the Nazeks in that war, thank you very much. The only reason Ascha doesn't like me is that I chose Cin over her."
"I kinda have a bad feeling about this," he admitted. "Like something bad's gonna happen."
She sighed. "And there's Debby Downer again."
"FIne," he siad. "I just won't talk about anything important."
She blew out a breath. "Anything you wanna get off your chest?" she asked. Compromise. Relationships require compromise.
"I have to fucking go fight my own dad, who just happens to have the capability to destory everything that I've ever loved." He sounded stressed. "Other than that, no."
"You're not alone, Runner," she said quietly, gently turning his head to look at her.
"Being alone has nothing to do with it. I'm scared. Fear don't care about who's around you."
She cupped his face and pressed her forehead against his. "I understand," she whispered. She did. She really did. And it pained her to see him so distressed and afraid.
"I'm being whiny, aren't I?"
"No," she said firmly. "You're being honest. I'm scared too. For you. I remember being scared out of my mind for years, even when I was with a group of shapeshifters. I get it."
