"I just said we're not an actual band… As far as I'm aware I'm the only one who plays any form of instrument or has any connection with music." Kai shrugged, resting his head on the table again, he was becoming tired, he needed more sleep.
"Mm, what do you play?" Gracie asked, curious. She'd always wanted to try the flute.
"Are you okay, Kai?" Miran asked, looking at Kai with concern. "You look… tired."
"Yeah, actually you do have a point," she agreed. "How much sleep did you even get last night?"
"Acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, and I'm in the process of learning violin." Kai answered rather sheepishly, he hadn't told many people he was something of a musician. Again, with the reputation he had built for himself, he didn't really want many people knowing about his guilty pleasures. "And yes, I'm fine, don't worry about me."
"That's a lot of instruments." Miran nodded in approval. "I'm not musical at all. More… athletic and artistic." He leaned closer to Kai. "I will worry about you a bit, though, if that's alright."
"Nice! Are you sure though?" Gracie prodded.
"I promise you, Gracie, I'm alright, school just tires me out." He chuckled, looking Miran in the eyes, his face a little pink. "Try not to worry about me too much, please."
(Okay like no joke I am running on 2 hours sleep and I'm at work in 5 or 6 hours so I'm going to have to hit the hay. Please feel free to carry on the RP without me and I will catch up when I come home from work.)
"I won't make promises I can't keep." Miran smiled softly.
(Please do that. Don't die.)
(Yes I agree with @MasterOfRellusion.)
"If you say so…" replied Gracie, doubt in her voice.
"Well, anyway." Miran took another bite of apple. "Do any of you know where the cross country team meets? I want to join, but…" Miran shrugged. "I couldn't find out any information about… anything, really."
Gracie turned to face Miran. "Um… Have you tried the office? They have helpful information about the teams and clubs."
"I haven't, actually." Miran smiled at Gracie. "I'll do that when I get the time. Thanks, Gracie."
Gracie nodded. "Hm, no problem."
(I haven't forgotten about this, I will send my reply when I get home from work today)
"Do any of you know if the cross country team is good?" Miran asked, opening his bag of chips and offering them to Gracie and Kai. "Want one?"
"Unfortunately, no I don't. And thanks for the offer, but no thanks," Gracie answered.
"Your loss. They're delicious." Miran pops one in his mouth and grins. "Kai? I promise you aren't stealing food from me." He grins.
(Sorry this was so late. I've started school, so I will answer when I can.)
(Oh that's fine)
Gracie chuckled. Suddenly, a loud noise started. Etta neighed and bucked, being very stressed. Gracie rushed to cover her ears, choosing to protect Etta over herself. "THE FIRE BELL!" she shouted back to Miran, walked out the nearest exit, where the noise was notably much quieter, so Gracie released her hands over Etta's ears. Etta shook her head in annoyance, and flicked her ears.
"Uh… is this the real thing?" Miran asked, following Gracie and Etta outside. "Or do they really like putting drills during lunch?" He looked nervously towards the school, scanning the sky for signs of smoke.
"It's probably one of those crazy science kids again, to be honest. We had a lot of these last year. They decided to 'experiment'. As you can see, that was a bad idea," she narrowed her eyes when she saw the two kids who had caused the fire come running out, laughing like crazy.
"Are they the cause?" Miran asked, following her gaze. "Don't they get in a lot of trouble? I mean, isn't there a teacher or something watching them to make sure they don't do that?" He frowned. "If not… how hasn't this school burned to the ground before?"
"There's always people on hand to deal with situations like this even before the fire brigade get here, you know, just in case they won't get here in time." Kai shrugged, shouting from the building, not in any hurry to make his way out of the canteen despite the teachers demanding he move. He knew for a fact that there was one person who wouldn't be able to move from the spot she was hiding in, no matter who was with her, no matter what was at stake, she wouldn't be able to move. "I'll join you in a moment!" he called, spinning on the balls of his feet and walking deeper into the building.
"Okay, Kai. Don't get caught on fire, please! I'd hate to never see that beautiful face again." Miran called after Kai. "I'm an idiot." He said to himself, cursing himself for saying that last line. Sure, he'd vowed to never live in fear again, but what if…
