Making her way towards the doors proved to be a difficult task, as she found that apparently the kids liked to hang out in groups by the door now. By the time she actually reached the door, she checked her watch and realized that whole ordeal had taken her 20 minutes! She sighed, and exited the doors, relishing the sweet air. Giving Etta a treat, she wondered what she would do next.

Miran waited until most of the crowds has cleared out, then made his way to the office to ask about the cross country team. Unfortunately for him, they didn't exactly have one anymore. Apparently, the coach quit out of the blue, and no one stepped in to run it, so it got terminated. Apparently, it wasn't even that good, to begin with, so it wasn't missed. Miran walked out of the office feeling dejected.

Kai and Max ended up leaving the classroom late, after everyone else had left they had asked for extra work. They never wanted to ask when other people were there, and the teacher always kept their inquiries confidential—although it still confused her as to why they wanted to keep it a secret.
The two of them ran out to the entrance, thankful that the crowds had near enough disappeared. Max turned to Kai with a a grin. "I'll be over later, I'm bringing snacks."
"How late are you planning on staying?" Kai chuckled, knowing the answer was going to be the same as usual.
"All night." Max patted him on the back with a wink before running off. "See you later."
The other boy waited in front of the entrance, knowing that someone was about to wander out with a very defeated expression.

Miran decided that since there wasn't any cross country, he had no reason to stay in school. He walked out of the main doors, his face long. As soon as he saw Kai, however, his face broke into a huge grin.
"Kai!" Miran bounded over to Kai, stopping himself before he wrapped Kai in a hug. He might not be comfortable with that, and Miran didn't want to make things awkward between them. "Uh… how was French?"

@The-Magician group

"It was alright, had another test so it wasn't too bad." He noticed a little hesitance in Miran's movements, but shrugged it off. There was something more important that Kai wanted to talk to Miran about. "So, will you be leaving the school?"

"Like, leaving-the-school-right-now-because-school-is-over leaving the school, or leaving-the-school-forever leaving the school?" Miran asked, frowning.

@The-Magician group

"Leaving the school forever. I'm assuming you found out that there is no cross-country? Nothing else would get you this down, right?" It was all speculation, but whether or not Kai's thoughts were real all depended on Miran's response.

"Yeah…" Miran sighed heavily. "No cross-country." He looked at Kai. "But that doesn't mean I'm leaving forever. Not when I have you," He paused, then added quickly, "and Gracie, to keep me company." Miran shrugged. "I'll just have to run on my own."

@The-Magician group

"I mean, if you ever need a running partner I'd be more than happy to accompany you." Kai mentally kicked himself for offering, but he didn't like the idea of Miran being alone. Besides, it would give him more of an idea of the kind of person that Miran was. "Anyway, do you have someone coming to pick you up?"

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Oh, you would!" Miran grinned stupidly. "I'd love that." His face falls. "And… no. My… parents… thought I would be here until five, so… I guess I'll wait." He looked around for somewhere to sit.

@The-Magician group

"Do you not have any way of calling them, letting them know you're finished early?" Part of Kai wanted to wait with Miran, but he also needed to clean his room for when Max came over.

"I do." Miran nodded and pulled a phone out of his backpack. He typed out a quick text and sent it. "Well, they'll probably be here in 15ish minutes." He looked at Kai. "Uh… you can go if you need to be somewhere. I'll be fine." He smiled quickly. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

Gracie burst out of the doors with a relieved expression on her face, glad to see two familiar faces - Kai and Miran. "Hey, it took me forever to get here…" she managed, having heard the last remnants of the conversation.

Miran looked over at Gracie with a smile. "Hey, Gracie!" He glanced back at Kai. "Oh, before I forget. Can I have your phone number? So we can figure out the running schedule." Miran explained. "Unless you don't want to. Which is totally fine." Miran looked down at the ground.

@The-Magician group

"No no that sounds great!" Kai smiled, ruffling Miran's hair. He gave his phone number to the boy on a small slip of paper before breaking into a jog. He glanced over his shoulder, waving slightly. "See you both tomorrow!"
Judging from the time he got home, he had only seven minutes to clean his room before Max decided to pitch up. This is going to be a long night…

"Good." Miran smiled, accepting the piece of paper. "Bye!" He waved at Miran, then turned to Gracie. "I'll see you tomorrow as well, Gracie." He gave her a small smile, then walked over to a bench under a tree and sat down to wait.

Miran sat under the tree for about two minutes before he got bored, which was very normal. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a notebook, then started sketching a little garden in the corner of the page.
