Tess saw Runner and her eyes gleamed with an idea.
Tess saw Runner and her eyes gleamed with an idea.
He shook his head. I don't like where this is going.
She smirked and ran towards Runner, grabbing him and swinging around so she was behind him. "You can't hit innocents!" she taunted Zeus. He stopped his pursuit, though he eyed Tessa from where she hid behind Runner.
He groaned, rubbing his face. Well, shit.
Zeus smirked as well, then his skin started to crack.
Tessa cursed herself. "Shit! I forgot he could do that!" she hissed.
He tilted his head. "Tess, how fast is he?"
"It doesn't matter! He's a mountain dragon! They can turn themselves into stone and go wherever the hell they please!"
"I think I'm fast enough."
"Fuck it." Tess ran, hopping up the stairs as fast as she could. Zeus's skin went back to normal as he ran after her.
He shrugged, deciding to stay downstairs and not get maimed by either one of the two.
About a minute later, Tess screeched and Zeus laughed. He came down the stairs, looking accomplished, with a grumpy Tessa slung over his shoulder. She sighed and muttered, "I give up."
He raised his eyebrows in surprise
Zeus tossed Tessa on the couch, making her yelp. "Here." He said. She scowled at Zeus.
"Uh…you sure you wanna be sitting on the couch?"
She shrugged and acted like it was her plan all along. "I still gotta scrub off my blood on the roof too"
(Omfg, I hate gym class so much!!)
"I feel like there's a difference between lying in your own dried blood than someone else's."
She picked at her nails. "Try being covered in multiple someone elses' blood."
"That's my point. It doesn't seem like a pleasant experience<" he said, tilting his head.
She shrugged again. "The unfortunate result of war–you get used to it."
He rolled his eyes, a joking smile on his face. "No way you'd let me go fight in a war. You won't even let me work."
She grinned. "If I was there to watch your back, then I might let you." She got up and stretched. "You should get some sleep. We got some shopping to do."
He shrugged and laid down on the floor, stretching his arm and legs out on the ground like a starfish.
She kneeled next to him. "That's not what I meant, dumbo."
"Well, where else am I supposed to sleep?"
"There's another guest bedroom upstairs, between Zeus's and mine. This is a big house, after all."
