"I bet nobody can remember
What color eyes are on my face
I'm a freak I'm a pretender
I never really had a place"
She went thought the verses, losing herself in the music as she sang.
"Tell the preacher not to pray
There's no angels where I go
Only pieces that I broke and
Scattered dreams across the globe
I'm home"
"Tried to stay sober, tried to stay clean
Wake me when it's over, like a bad dream
Mama doesn't call, sister never writes
Bet ya they would laugh if I called to say goodbye
No ones gonna worry, notice when I'm gone
They wouldn't know I'm missing
Til' they pull me out The Mystic"

She finished.
She sighed and took off her headphones, leaning back in her chair. I was a bitch. He only meant well. She groaned and hit her head against the table. Why did I give him that girl's address? He's probably hooking up with her right this second.
She looked up and saw that her camera had been recording. She got an idea.
Once she had edited the video down to just when she finished the song, she called Moko and handed him a video player. "Give this to Runner." The familiar chirruped and disappeared with the video player.
She decided to test her luck. "Why are you so worried about someone who kicked out out that quick? Obviously they don't care."
Turns out it was a bad move as he let out a snarl, throwing open the door and walking out withou t another word, stomping down the stairs and out of the complex. He switched to his dragon and took of into the air, heading for the only safe place he could think; the island.
Moko followed Runner in his shadow, easily keeping up. He chirruped to try to get Runner's attention.
Runner heard the chirp and slowed down, looking down. "Huh?"
Moko–a black cross between cat, fennec fox, and bat–chirruped again and showed him the video recorder. Attached to it was a note written in Tessa's handwriting: 'I was being a bitch again. I'm sorry. Maybe this will make you understand a little better? It helped me calm my tits.'
He tilted his head, but was in the middle of the ocean at the moment. "Can you bring it to the island?"
Moko bobbed his head, flying up to perch on Runner's back.
He landed a few minutes later, switching to human for immediately.
Moko trotted up to Runner, the video player in his mouth. He peered up at Runner with large dog-like eyes.
He took it lightly from his mouth, fiddling with it for a moment to pull whatever she had filmed up.
It was a video of her singing that song, eyes closed and lost in the music as she swayed. She told of her past through the words of another, conveying her feelings without actually telling of them.
He frowned heavily as he watched, turning to Moko. "Is she still mad at me?"
Moko tilted his head, his large fox ears twitching. What do you think? he seemed to be saying.
He groaned, running a hand through his hair. She's gonna be. "What I'm really asking is if it's safe to go over there."
Moko bobbed his head, then flew up to Runner, perching on his shoulders. He started purring as he watched the video.
He rubbed his nose, sighing. The video ended, and he shut down the video player, handing it back to Moko. "Tell her I'll be there soon, alright?"
Moko stared at Runner with his large eyes.
He tilted his head. "What?"
He cooed, nudging Runner with his head and the video player.
"Do I need to film something too, or is there more?"
Moko's ears flattened, annoyed that Runner couldn't understand what he was trying to say. He hopped down, traded the video player for a stick, and started writing. 'Go'
"Oh, shit. Sorry. I owe you, like, a full pack of bacon." He dropped the camera and turned into a dragon again, flying faster than ever towards the house.
Moko perked up at the mention of bacon, then left the island for whatever realm of shadow he lived in when he wasn't there.
Tessa was gorging herself with casserole in the kitchen–Zeus was eating in his guest bedroom–feeling bad for her behavior and attempting to drown her sorrow in food.
Off in the distance, she could begin to see a grew and black blur, approaching rapidly. In a matter of 2 seconds, she was able to make out the whiskers on his face. In a matter of 5, he was standing on the balcony, hands on his knees and he gulped for breath.
She stared wide-eyed at Runner, mouth full of food and body frozen in place.
