you guys are so good!! i'm new and trying to escape old socials so i thought i'd try to break the mold with a little bit of my art i guess? i mostly do freebies instead of original art now but idk. this is an oldie but a goodie of my main man. (also sorry if i didn't embed the image right i have no idea what i'm doing) https://i.imgur.com/gxd1B74.jpg

Nice!

@ninja_violinist

@receptions that's amazing!! Those tattoos?? and the shading of the jacket?? it actually looks like leather??? and the lighting and composition and just everything…. how
Just out of curiosity, how long have you been doing (digital) art?

@receptions

@ninja_violinist asdhjgl that's a really high compliment, thank you!! i've had my same drawing tablet for 15 years, but i didn't really start using it frequently until 2010. i drew cats and animals up until late 2012 when i switched to humans. the drawing i posted is from summer 2017. i'd say around 7 years?? it's a little complex i guess.

@ninja_violinist

That's incredible! I'm like a baby artist compared to you (been doing art for… 5 years now, digital art for about 2) so it's super encouraging to see that you've been working at it for a while and it didn't just… magically come to you, I guess
(that was worded really awkwardly but I hope you know what I mean)

@receptions

i'm not that old haha. i had a late start but i'm barely 20. you're super good for that short amount of time tho!! 5 years in my art was just embarrassingly bad.

@shattered_heart

@elvirawolfheart Well… tricky question… some artist do the same (Ross Draws for example) but to some point it could be like cheating (depends on who you ask, I mean, seems completely fine to me but still)… but these look gorgeous and I love the way everything looks so smooth but still, I would recomend that you keep practicing and the use of references is never a bad choice so is okay if you copy the pose of an already existing photo and as long as you´r not drawing on top of someone else´s drawing then that´s ok :)

Yeah, I'd never draw over someone's drawing, though I might use them as a reference. I've begun drawing my own sketches by hand to turn into digital arts. It's just hard trying to learn which brush is best for what. I guess I should watch some tutorials on using the program :)
Below are the two photos I used as reference for my art.

Elvira! I haven’t seen you in forever!

Oh hello, dear. (cries because she feels missed) I've just been loitering in the background to shy to say anything. I'm starting to get out of my bubble though. How have you been doing?

@Althalosian-is-the-father book

Pretty well. At the moment I have a minor crisis involving college books lost in the mail. But I’m having a decent time in life. Been doing some RPs, played some guitar yesterday, discovered Sanders Sides. Life is good. Wby?

@Mojack group

This is an older piece I did a while ago. I had to go grab it from my Instagram account.
Back when I used to actually finish my art. I hope to return to do that soon.

@ravens

whoaaaaaa Mojack that's so good! I'll have to show that to my sister; she loves dragons.

That's a cool design, Emi!
