The Serathem Guardians

The warrior guardians of the stars take unexpected visages.

The Serathem Guardians are the prominent force of protectors in the known galaxy, protective fledgling civilizations from would-be oppressors. Humans have risen, fractured as ever, into the stars, bringing their wars with them. And in a further corner of the galaxy, there are whispers of revolution against an ages-old theocracy...

That's hard to answer. Much of it came from mental images while reflecting or listening to music.

Advanced Space Age stuff. Exoskeleton armor, artificial gravity, etc...

Some species, such as the Lovuthans, possess magic-esque qualities, but it is all natural stuff specific to the species.

The characters in this universe, it's places, etc... are all things that run through my head when in quiet reflection and/or listening to songs. They reflect a lot of things about me too. I often think of the Serathem as a reflection of my thirst for a united humanity, and the Mechanists (who aren't documented very well here) as my drive towards improving my technical prowess despite the stigma around technology.

Sci-fi series like Halo and Starcraft defined the technology of the universe.
Warhammer 40k's Tau Faction influenced the politics of the Serathem themselves. The Imperium of Man and their adversion to decent technology inspired the story of the Lovuthan Mechanists/Theocracy.
