In the great depression, Kayla and Todd Bishop founded an underground society where people with unnatural abilities could be safe from the outside world. When they used a fallout shelter from wold war i, they found a dangerous object called The Orb. Once they saw what The Orb could do, they decided they would protect in their school so that The Orb would always stay out of trouble.
