Fire Magic

A type of Elemental Energy sometimes called the element of heat. Falls under New Magic. Glows red when pure. Basic Spells involve the generation of magical fire, which may come in many different colors (though the color isn't connected to the strength or temperature). Its properties are similar to ordinary fire in that it requires kindling and oxygen to burn, but it is more resilient and difficult to suffocate, even with water. It only "spreads" in the sense that its heat may ignite nearby material, sparking non-magical fire.

Talented mages may release fire energy in small, controlled amounts to increase the temperature in an area of their choosing without immediately igniting anything.
