Gateway started as a meeting place for the surrounding kingdoms to gather and trade. It soon blossomed into a thriving stand-alone community.

Due to the nature of Gateway as a centralized trade hub, no single kingdom lays claim to the city. The inhabitants of Gateway have been granted immunity by the three major kingdoms: Green Elf, Dwarf , and Humans as a standalone entity and given the power to govern themselves as they see fit. This has given Gateway a reputation as a haven for adventurers and scoundrels alike.
