Turin was created along with the other eighteen Guardians by Eirene, the first Guardian and the creator of Eridya. Under her guidance, Turin created the sky and the sun, as well as passerines, songbirds, and other small and medium non-raptor avians, before making his home atop the Garnet Spire. From there, he watched over the world with the other Guardians, and was worshipped by humans and animals alike as they collaborated to help Eridya flourish.
However, trouble arose when the people of Valya unveiled a creation meant to rival Eirene herself – an enormous black dragon named Dovrak. When they lost control of their creation, who began rampaging across Eridya and wounded the Tree of Life in the process, Turin worked with the other Guardians and humans to drive back the threat in what became the Nightbringer War. Turin was among many of the Guardians seeking retribution for Valya's actions, which ultimately came to pass as Valya was sunk under the sea and its Guardians sealed away, bringing the total number of Guardians down to sixteen.
500 years later, he convened along with the rest of the Guardians in a Grand Council after being alerted of a premonition of Dovrak being revived as well as the rise of a new faction named the Duskwing Syndicates. After quite some back and forth, they came to the consensus that they should seek out the aid of Champions in the dual hope that the Champions' presence would not only keep the Guardians together but also strengthen their defenses against the Duskwing Syndicates. They decided to search among young adults between 18-23 years old, as children would be unable to harness the Guardians' power.
Turin managed to find a Champion and trained with them up until the Twilight War began, in which he was shocked to find that five of the Guardians had turned against the rest. Despite this, Turin fought with all he could to drive back the enemy and to protect Eridya's peace.
Upon hearing that the Duskwing Syndicates were targeting the Tree of Life once again, Eirene sent Turin along with Brysenne, Jhin, Kasha, and Nagi to protect it while the remaining Guardians attempted to stave off the Duskwing Syndicates. However, the group’s Champions were corrupted by Ashika’s talisman and proceeded to attack the Guardians and the Tree, forcing Turin and his companions to put them down.
They were then confronted by Ashika and Uriah, and the furious Guardians battled against them to protect the Tree of Life. However, the five were soon overwhelmed and gravely injured by an explosion from the two Rogues’ attacks. Sensing that they would not last longer alone, Brysenne desperately howled to sound the alarm, alerting the other Guardians. Thankfully, Eirene and Tezal arrived along with the remaining Guardians in time, and together they were able to once again rally the Guardians and Champions to protect the Tree. Using the last of their strength, the five Guardians aided the others in driving off the Duskwing Syndicates and Rogues, with Eirene imprisoning the latter for their crimes.
Despite the victory, the five Guardians who were sent to protect the Tree of Life were wracked with guilt at their failure to save their Champions, considering it equivalent to sending them to their deaths – and thus an enormous disgrace to the other Guardians. Driven by a combination of sheer exhaustion and the aforementioned shame, they fell into hibernation within their talismans, their Legatuses reverting into their deactivated forms in the process. As such, the five Guardians were considered effectively deceased and thus were given the name the Five Fallen. Though it originally referred to their deceased Champions, it also came to refer to the Guardians themselves due to their "fall from grace" at the end of the war. Their talismans and Legatuses were thankfully saved and enshrined in a temple dedicated to them which became known as the Temple of the Five Fallen, where they were venerated and protected as holy artifacts.
By the time the Five Fallen are reawakened in the present, they are all but shells of themselves, having lost all of their powers and being effectively mute due to their extreme isolation and slumber. Nevertheless, they reluctantly follow their new Champions, gradually recovering their powers and ability to speak, as well as their place in Eridya as Guardians.
A fiery phoenix with a proud personality. Sought someone with a stalwart heart after the death of his former Champion.
