This leads to explosive, painful mutations that, while temporary, require weeks of isolation, careful monitoring, and physical therapy to treat. The process is well-documented and there are specialists to help with every step, but recovery can get expensive.

While humans can avoid switchsickness by waiting enough time after using up all the old Craft energy, the exact length of time needed varies from weeks to years across individuals, and the reasons for this are not fully understood. Switchsickness is entirely unavoidable for Craftborn.
