A rangy man, Syr Erec Oldwood is a former member of the nobility and a skilled knight. Years ago, he accepted the task of becoming Nyneve's attendant, guard, and confidant. He has served as protector of the Lady of the Lake for years, guarding her from prying eyes and potential troublemakers. Though he tends to be gruff around strangers and sometimes grumbles about his duties, he is still a kind man who is devoted to his duty and his wife.
