Amy is a water demon, meaning he was not born but rather created by the Water Goddess herself to serve her. However the Water Goddess cares little for what her demons do so long as they answer summons when she needs them, so Amy was also free to do as he pleased for the most part. Having some skill in healing magic he attended Pendelton Healer's School and graduated middle of his class, nothing remarkable. But as healers with any skill were in high demand Amy then took off for Tempest to serve at the Combat Academy, healing those who injured themselves in the training process.

At one point Amy had to visit Luminus, being asked after by some friends for one who desperately needed his medical attention and trusted only him to look after the situation. It wasn't the first time, the friend had been ill for some time and in a constant state of decline so Amy made visits every few months to help look after them. On that particular visit Amy met Diamond, and the spark was undeniable. They spent some time together once Amy's business was wrapped up and knew they were Soul Mates, but there was one glaring issue at hand; Amy knew he would be unable to find employ in Luminus due to being an outsider demon hated by the Light Goddess, and Diamond was studying at the Cappelli School of Music to enhance her skills. Amy would have to return to Tempest if he wanted to continue to make a living, and it wasn't fair of him to ask Diamond to leave with him so they simply agreed to visit when they could and live their separate lives until Diamond graduated. She'd be able to find work almost anywhere and would be able to move to Tempest with him once she was done with school.
