She's very reserved and extremely quiet. The only time she breaks from that is during times of extreme stress. Then she's prone to fits of screaming and crying, to the point of being inconsolable.

Gabriella's obsessive love for Crowley, her unrealistic expectations of a family, and her selfish desire for children are what drive her.

Her biggest flaw is how she always excuses Crowley's behavior, regardless of how depraved it is. She's also very emotionally unstable and can go from being quiet one moment to shouting and breaking things the next. She obviously has many mental issues that are never addressed and she uses her domestic housewife appearance to mask the turmoil inside her.

Gabriella was born a human but was turned by Crowley into a vampire when she was shot during a random mugging. She was only 17 at the time, Crowley was much older than her and was able to manipulate her into becoming his wife. Together they had a daughter, Trisha but complications during the labor left Gabriella unable to have any more children.

She falls into a great depression because she had always wanted a big family. When Crowley reveals to her his plans and how she can benefit from it, Gabriella accepts his deplorable actions. Now presented with what is basically an entire orphanage beneath their own home, Gabriella can choose her own children from the ones that are born to Crowley's victims. One of those children being Frank.

She raises Frank as her own, making him believe she's his biological mother. When Crowley's basement is found by authorities when one of his captives breaks loose, the entire Simmons family are seen as monsters. After Crowley's death, she reveals to Frank that she contracted Black Blood from Crowley, and the disease is spreading rapidly.

Gabriella was driven to suicide by her grief for Crowley's death. Shortly after Frank returns from the war, he finds his mother dead in their home, hanging from a beam of the roof.
