While not outwardly prejudice against the other races, he has a very "us vs. them" mentality and is not above screwing them over for the sake of his kingdom.
He's a very pragmatic and versatile fighter, and he's a genius tactician who can seemingly turn the tide of any battle, which is how he shot up in rank so quickly.
He collects rare weapons, his favorites being swords.
Depressed and tired, practical and quiet
Leo is a tired man who got old at a young age. His life is filled with hardship that started with the accidental murder of his best friend whom he was in love with, and it all went downhill from there. He is subdued and quiet, and he tries to stay out of the spotlight in anyway he can. He's closeted in public, and his lover is the only person in his life that he cares about. He's somewhat estranged from his family, and he's not very social, but deep down he's a good man who cares about the well-being of his soldiers.
Leo is motivated by the need to stay alive and away from the spotlight, but also his immense loyalty to the throne.
He's anti-social, a chain-smoker, and comes off as rude to others. He's not very charismatic, and his men think that he's secretive and strange. He doesn't get along well with his peers, and he's estranged from his family, despite the best attempts of his twin brother.
Leopold Dahl, III was born to Lord Hephaestus and Lady Elise Dahl as their firstborn son, and was named for his childless uncle with whom his father was close. As the first born, he was expected to become the next House Head of the Dahl House, but his birthright was stricken from him after he was accused of and then convicted for murder of his friend that outed him as gay to everyone in the community. For his crime, he was banished from having contact with his family and community for 10 years, and forced to roam the land on his own at 15 years old. With no money or connections, Leo had no choice but to go into prostitution to make ends meet. He also spent time as a bandit, learning the tricks of the trade and how to fight, until he was captured and enslaved. After two years in slavery, Leo used his knowledge and superior tactical skills to lead a successful revolt for freedom. At 25, he returned home to his father dead and his brother now Head of House. As his experiences left him too different from his family and high class society to rejoin them, he instead joined the Hyrulean Army. Although he joined with the intent to move quietly in the background, he caught the attention of his cousin Eric Reinhelm, who decided that between Leo's mind and his charisma, they could move through the ranks together. Eric managed to drag Leo all the way up to the position of Lt. General, where he did most of the work while Eric received all the glory. This worked out well for both parties until Eric's indiscretions got him killed, and Leo was suddenly catapulted into a position that he neither wanted nor felt he was equipped to handle. Nevertheless, Leo takes his job as General very seriously, and he does all that he's able to ensure that the Kingdom of Hyrule remains as the central power of the land.
