(JEEZ One second, lemme split into two people for y'all)
Nathan saw Luke sitting next to his bed. Luke looked up at him and grinned. "Nate, you're awake. How ya doing?"
And for Maddie:
You saw Crash, but instantly you knew something was wrong. He looked scared, and you had never seen him scared before. He stared at you with wild eyes, seeming not to notice the blood on his knuckles. "Maddie?" His voice was husky and unsteady.

Nathan looked hazily up at Luke. "Hey, Luke. I'm not doing too good right now, but I'll survive." He sat up slowly and clutched his head, wincing. "Where are Crash and Maddie? Where are we?"

Luke stretched. "We're at a charity hospital. They'll only let you stay for a few days at a time, but it's not a bad place. Dude, you got pretty banged up. As for the other two, they're at Blake's deluxe HQ, trying to avoid being brainwashed. I talked to Mads with the tracker and she said she's doing okay, but I don't know about Crash. Either way, we should hit the road as soon as you're feeling up to it."

Nathan shook his head, processing what he was hearing. He nodded slowly and stood. "Well, then, let's go." he tilted to the left and leaned on the wall.

Luke got up, straightened Nathan out, and gave him a serious look. "Now, listen, pal. I respect you. I trust that you know what's best for you. But I'm not used to team playing. If I forget about you once things get tricky out there, feel free to let me know what you need. Ya cool?"

"I'm cool. We just need to get to Maddie and Crash as soon as possible," he assured Luke.

"We agree on that. You want something to eat or drink before we go? It'll be a bit of a walk, I don't have the money for a taxi. We might not get there 'till the sun's up."

"Just some water." Nathan took a small step forward, waiting until he regained his balance before taking another.

Luke poured him some water from a pitcher on the bedside table and handed him the glass. "Remind me to thank the desk lady when we leave. This place has been a lifesaver too many times to count."

Nathan gulped down the water and set down the glass. "OK. Back to Blake we go."

"You betcha." Luke shot you a sly, dangerous smile. "Those pretty little morons won't know what hit 'em."
