(i cant wait TT^TT i miss herrr)
Shaun keeps his eyes glued to the dog, raising his eyebrows when he starts barking. Sure it scared him a little but he's learned not to show fear around strangers, so he simply steps in front of the windshield and blocks Fish from view. "Ook, following a cat eater and her aggressive dog towards her car, that's the smartest thing I've ever done." Shaun mumbles under his breath, before lowering his arms as he starts walking towards Jesse. Sure he would've responded to Angela but the other woman seems to have it taken care of. He's just hoping to get his car fixed and get out, he doesn't want to spend more time around other people than absolutely necessary. He stands a few feet away from the RV when he gets to it, eyes flicking back and forth and just taking in whatevers happening. He made sure to close and lock his car before stepping out of it, and he's sure he'd hear if anyone tried getting in, though maybe he shouldn't have left his gun on the ground. Whatever, there's no other cars coming. "Alrighty, what do you want in exchange for help?" Shaun huffs, making sure not to give away what he has in his car.
Phoenix continued to lap at the murky water, shaking her wind blown fur after her refreshing drink of murky river water. She gave Jax a sloppy, wet kiss, and he stuck his tongue out in disgust. He whipped the dog slobber off his cheek and gave Phoenix a little pat on the head. “Kυνήγι.” He whispered to Phoenix, and she darted off into the forest, tongue hanging out of her mouth. Jax slipped off his boots and socks, slipping his feet in the murky water. The silt was a downside, but the menthol like properties of the water helped with the heat exposure. He rolled up his pant legs to avoid them from getting drenched. This exposed the wound by fishing line on his leg. The skin was red from the recent operation, although, it looked healthier than before. Drastically. “I’m surprised.” He muttered. “My leg no longer looks like a zombie itself— and it’s only been a few hours to a day.” A smiled lined the corners of his mouth, but he never smiled with his teeth. It was always a closed smile with gentle eyes.
The days had dragged on over the past few months, the world only growing grimmer. The upside to the world diving into chaos was the fact the Earth started to recover slowly. That could be good to those who managed to survive. That meant more resources since no one had to compete anymore. Jax could, for once, only concern himself over his dog, Cass, and little Fia. There was nothing else to cloud his mind— well maybe the encroaching fear that he might be absorbed into the zombie hordes. Phoenix came running back with a few dead rabbits in her jaws. She dropped them at Jax’s side, and he hid the dead animals from Fia’s field of vision. But now Phoenix was covered in rabbit blood. Jax snapped back to reality when Fia spoke. “I should have never doubted your knowledge! You’re a smart girl, Fia.” He took one good look at Phoenix. “I don’t see why not.” He signaled to Phoenix that she could go play in the water. The dog darted into the water, jumping around and snapping at the ripples she caused. Jax smiled, somewhat glad he tough Phoenix how to hunt. He knew rough collies weren’t bred for that job, but that didn’t matter to him.
(here she is, if you see the name Mellie or Love or whatever else, those are just her nicknames, like Cherry, though I will be sticking to calling her Cherry, so if there are any mistakes just replace the name with Cherry, i tried my best to replace the nicknames with Cherry but i might have missed some (probably))
Name: Chernobyl Melanie Lovette
Age: 20
Gender/pronouns: Female, She/They
Sexuality: Androsexual
Shipping: Sure
Appearance: Cherry weighs 140 lbs, standing at 5'5. Her body type is a mesomorph, has a bit of muscle to her but her frame is small, almost a mix between an hourglass shape and a more boxy shape, though she does have a bit of fat on her stomach even though she used to work out. She has a warm ivory skin tone, being half Hispanic and caucasian, though, sometimes her skin tone seems a little darker out in the sunlight.
Cherry has big round hazel eyes, a chestnut brown color taking up most of the space in her eyes towards the middle but mixing with the deeper green on the outside. She has dark eyebags underneath and no matter how much she sleeps they never seem to go away, so she wears makeup to cover up that fact. Cherry plays around with eyeliner a lot, sometimes making sharp fancy wings and other times just smudging it around the outer corners when she doesn't have time, though, slowly over time she stopped wearing it since there are more important things to deal with.
Cherry has soft kind eyes, something that people often tell her a lot. Whenever she talks you can see the brightness that lights up behind her eyes since she's a very animated person. For her hair, she rocks a shoulder-length shaggy mullet that's fluffy with soft bangs. Their hair color is a dark brown that is naturally fluffy and thick, making it difficult to tame if she's going to a place where she has to be presentable and formal. She alternates from a really short boyish haircut to a mullet. Sometimes she uses a curling iron to make her hair wavy or just to add texture and accentuate the layers which you can't really see if it's in its natural state, not so much now where she has to be constantly moving or alert. Since she doesn't get to brush it often, it clumps together making it a tangled mess that she's forced to remove with her fingers. Often times she doesn't have to do anything to it and can wake up with a really good hair day, others, she struggles a lot.
Cherry's nose is almost a square shape, it's long and medium-sized, sort of resembles a button nose, but not quite. Her face is very round/sort of squarish as she has a soft baby face with freckles. Her mouth is 'pouty', she has full lips and makes them look just slightly bigger than they are by adding lipstick around where her actual line for her lips is, doing this a lot back before everything went to hell.
She got top surgery as soon as she was out of school and going into college. Cherry has several tattoos, one being on top of her top surgery scars, it's a barbed wire type of deal. Has "XV" tattooed on her wrist and a verse of a Sanskrit hymn on her other arm.
The types of clothes that she wears are mainly huge t-shirts over skirts with bell-bottoms, sometimes adds a corset to make her waist look better (in her opinion) but she can't really run in that so she holds onto it until she can wear it again, hoping that day will come.
Right now she wears a button-down with a t-shirt on the inside, having no choice but to wear pants even though her wardrobe is mostly skirts and dresses. Is known for wearing jewelry such as coin jewelry, silver coin earrings with helix piercings on both ears and an eyebrow piercing on the right, silver coin necklaces, rings, and bracelets, which has sort of an Egyptian/Greek style. For shoes, she wears stompy boots. Likes the alternative grunge look, and mostly looks like a college professor who went clubbing and then slept on the streets. Very much wears expensive clothes as she comes from a semi well off family, bordering on rich, but she doesn't really like to tell people that.
I do have a picture for her, it isn't art as I am not really good at that. I found something that would kind of fit her? It's the closest thing I could find.

Personality: Cherry is very kind, she has a soft spot for people who match her energy. Sometimes you'll catch her with a lovestruck look on her face when she really likes someone, either friends or crushes she has. One thing about her is that she falls in love very easily, thus leading to a lot of heartbreak.
Grandmas mainly have told her that she has such a good personality but for others her age she may seem intoxicatingly sweet which may seem annoying or "too much". Truth be told she's a very sad person who often indulges in love poems and letters, books that leave her crying overnight, and rom-com movies that leave a bittersweet feeling inside of her. She chases the depressing side of things as it is addictive to her. Now that it's been a while being out trying to survive though, she seems a little more worn down, and depressed even, but still, she tries to keep her facade up, feeling like she'll lose herself if she gives into hopelessness. Borders a little on paranoid at the tiniest sound, is very jumpy.
Is very hyper and bright and animated, not being able to hide her emotions which spill onto her face.
She likes to cheer people up even if she herself isn't feeling it that day. Her love language is gifting other people really expensive things since she does come from a rich family, not so much now but she still tries to show it by giving what little she has left. If she messes up with a friend or anyone, she would buy them something for their forgiveness which could be seen as her thinking she's better than everyone else but she only does this because this is the way her parents showed her love since a young kid. She has yet to learn that money and gifts can't buy forgiveness and has lost lots of friends because of it. Cherry is always seen surrounded by people as she is very popular with everyone, especially the guys, but secretly she has a greater connection with the girls, sometimes developing deeper emotional relationships with them that don't necessarily have to be romantic. A fault of hers is that she expects people to reciprocate those feelings or love back, and ends up disappointing herself when they don't. She has very high expectations of everyone. She is quick-witted and impatient, and is very picky with who she wants to date, though, she can't control who she ends up having feelings for. Gets bored fairly easily, and is generous.
Backstory: Cherry comes from a very rich family, having a good life since she was a kid, her mother and father loved her dearly and did the best they could for her. The only sort of depressing thing that has happened to her is getting dumped by the lovers she's had in the past. She doesn't know what it is, but it makes her feel unlovable. She used to work as a florist when she was enrolled in college, and although her parents could pay for all her academic expenses she chose to work for it, knowing that money is only there temporarily and working for it and making connections along the way is what makes life richer. Cherry isn't too familiar with being on her own as she's always had help from others being her parents or friends, so she sticks to groups, doing the best she can to help around without being a burden.
(She sounds like such a sweetheart! I love her <3)
(thankssss <3)
Angela thought for a moment before nodding and following the woman to the RV slowly she didn't want to alarm anyone she made her way into the RV and looked around to make sure the dog wasn't getting to attack her she stood a little to close to the man than she would like to "i really could have stayed outside.."
A few days before, Peregrine had climbed the barbed wire fence around his parents with his few belongings strapped to his back in his little yellow backpack (yellow seemed to be his favorite color, hence the bag and jacket). It hadn't gone quite as well as he'd envisioned in his head, but he'd escaped nonetheless. He did, however, have some pretty nasty wounds on both hands from the barbed wire that were likely infected.
He stumbled through the forest, exhausted, hungry, and feverish. He adjusted his bag on his back pretty often, feeling like it was getting heavier as time went on, and he clutched his floppy stuffed dog close to his chest with his free arm. His hands felt very hot to the touch due to the infection, and with the bloody scabs that spanned the length of his hands, he didn't want to touch his plush with them for fear of getting it dirtier than it already was.
The trees grew thinner and the light brighter, so he figured that he must be nearing an exit. His parents' house wasn't in the city; it was further out and surrounded by trees, so Percy had been walking alone for much longer than a five year old should.
He emerged from the trees, still staggering, but as though he were injured rather than a zombie. There was something ahead of him, but… it was blurry. He squinted, trying to make it out. It seemed to be figures. People! Or zombies? Hopefully not zombies. He didn't think zombies moved like that anyway. He was growing dizzy and his vision more blurry, so he was desperate. These people were his only hope.
"H… Hey!" He called out as loudly as he could muster, despite it being ingrained in him to be quiet usually. "Please… h-help! Help… hello…?" He fell to his knees, panting weakly. Everything hurt, and he was so hot and so cold, and he was so hungry.
(Anybody can be who he saw lol, whoever is available)
(I'm so unreliable I already want to change Shaun's wardrobe lmao)
(can-can i have Cherry as like…my bestest friend in the whole wide world??? please???? i literally am in love with her ;~;)
(XD sure! lmfaooo i'm sure she would like you a lot to be honest C:)
(omg yus im glad ^3^<3)

The RV was decently sized for just a portable trailer-like home; a bed in the back taking up all the width of the vehicle and wooden cabinets lining the edges of the ceiling. The interior was a light brownish tan color with stripes here and there.
A small table/shelf was secured to the side of it so you could sit at it to work or to eat. She had a map of the town they were in plastered on window in front of it so nobody could look inside. On it had small sharpied spots in red where she had found hoards of zombies, others where she found campsites, unprofessionally made grave sites, places that were looted marked in black and the places she needed to go in yellow highlighter.
Across almost every surface was littered with tools, nails, papers and weapons. Near the front she had a huge cooler with most of her food aside from any canned food she had stored in the cabinets above them.
For someone who liked to be very organized, she didn't seem to be. Though organization was subjective in Jesse's mind.
Once the others step in, Jesse makes her way towards one of the cabinets, opening the door on her way to let Ghabiun jump on the bed.
He runs into the room, dragging the metal leash behind him and hops on the bed. He walks in a small circle a few times before laying down near the edge of the bed, watching the two new people as he pants heavily.
Jesse pulls out a black and grey back about the size of a purse. Setting it on the table, she opens it and looks to the woman. "sit" she says, looking up to the man when he speaks. "The cat" she jokes. She tries to anyway. "Ghabiun needs new chew toy. He will get bored and eat us instead" she shrugs, rummaging through the bag. Her tone seemed as serious as before, as Jesse was never good at joking around or sarcasm. She tries though.
Pulling out gauze and rubbing alcohol along with a string of sutures and everything with that. She sets it on the table and looks to the woman "Show me the wound" she says, not trying to be polite but not aware of the fact that she sounded very rude.

Ophelia laughs at Jax as the dog gave him kisses, wanting one as well. She sticks her bottom lip out as to pout when she runs away out of Fia's line of sight.
Cassius studies his wound as he reveals it to the outside world, his eyebrows raising. "oh im surprised too. i was worried you were turning into a zombie" he chuckles lightly.
"its a good thing you brought Phoenix. She can take some of the load off of your shoulders for hunting. Fia likes her too" he says with a smile, looking back to Ophelia.
Within a few seconds of looking away from her, she had submerged all but the top half of her face in the water, looking cross eyed at her small button nose as she blows bubbles in the water, only coming up to laugh.
He remembered when her and and her mother would take baths together, afterwards Eleanor would tell Cassius about how she took forever to get her hair shampooed because she was so busy blowing bubbles in the bath water. Cassius missed Eleanors warmth whenever he laid in bed and her hand in his whenever they went on walks. It's been painful with her gone. And it wasn't even too long ago either…..
Cassius shakes himself out of his depressing moments of grief in order to talk to Fia. "oh honey!" he says "be careful! The waters dirty!" he says to her
She looks up to him and stands, her clothes now soaks and the ends of her braided brown hair dripping over her shoulders. The yellow flowers still entertwined in her hair though loosened.
She puts her hands on her hips "not too dirty to wash our clothes in!!" she says, pouting once again.
"Just dont drink it okay? you can still blow bubbles" he says with a heavy sigh.
He turns back to see the dog coming back with dead animals in her mouth and his eyes widened. Though he appreciated that Jax hid them from Fia, she trudged through the water as fast as she could towards the dog. Managing not to see the animals, she smiles at the dog.
"nice!!" she exclaims, chasing after Phoenix and creating ripples in the water beside her with her hands or small pebbles to snap at.
Shaun hesitantly steps inside after the others, watching the dog for a while before snorting and looking at Jesse again. "Yeah no, I'd rather let him chew on my own arm than give him Fish. I do have a few cans of dog food if you're in need of that-" Shaun leans against the doorframe, picking at his fingernails. He'd definitely saw his own arm off and give it to the dog, if Fish was safe from his mauling. His eyes drift along the interior of the van, absentmindedly nodding his head as he does. This is actually a really nice place to have during a zombie apocalypse, it looks like it'd definitely hold up really well..of course he doesn't have the balls to try and steal it right now, he'll wait until Jesse dies or something. Is he joking? You'll never know. Eventually he leans his head out the door again, mostly to check on his car before his eyes drift towards the field stretching from the side of the road. It looks like a kid toddling around, oh shit they absolutely wiped out- through his concern he can't help but laugh, I mean kids falling has always been funny to him ok. "..I think there's a kid out there, like barely above toddler age? Kid just faceplanted-"
(Don't mind Shaun laughing at Peregrines misfortune)
(That's fair lol, kids falling is funny)
(It's hilarious- as long as they don't get seriously hurt, yknow)
Angela watched as she grabbed the small bag and took a deep breath "oh- i was hoping to have my own….but in that case….." she paused for a moment before untying the pice of dirt coverd cloth revealing a bullet wound "i didn't exactly fall….the residents in the city aren't very friendly." She shifted she could walk surprisingly well on her leg as she looked around the RV " i promise i wasn't bitten i checked i just need to clean this and get the bullet out.."
(Sorry if this is everywhere. Tired brain.)
Jax looked down at the wound he’d shown to the world, studying it before turning to Cass. “Me? Turning into a zombie? Not in a million years.” He mumbled with a confidant smile. But in reality, no one knew the future. He could be a zombie the next day, joining the damned dead. “I’m glad I have her too. I don’t think I could hunt on this leg. It would kill me.” He turned his glance over to Fia. At least his companion was also company for the little one. Phoenix was his only company, and he was glad to share it with someone else. Phoenix’s return was marked with death, but it was also marked with food. Hiding away the animals from Fia was a common courtesy. He couldn’t let a young one be traumatized over the fact he liked rabbit. Sitting at the water’s edge calmed him. It was a mix of being surrounded by tranquil forest and trickling water that soothed his mind. A mind of sad song. That’s what he had. A sad song. Jax smiled at Fia’s stubbornness, reminding him of when he was a child. Stubbornness was an interesting trait one could harbor. Phoenix darted into the water, playing with Fia. She snapped her jaws at the rocks, being careful not to hurt Fia. Phoenix was a smart girl. She wouldn’t attack unless Jax commanded her. All of Phoenix’s commands were in Greek too, so no one else could command her to hurt others. The dog softly played with Fia while Jax stared off into the distance, thinking of his life before meeting Cass and Fia. It was a disaster, almost an apocalypse of its own.
The old world was just like the new world. Full of misfortune. For Jax at least. Watching his companion play with Fia reminded him of how she played with him. Phoenix was edging onto five years, growing older with age. Jax, however, found little Phoenix when she was just 8 weeks old, playing in a dirty puddle on the side of a dirt road in front of an old barn. Jax had traveled on foot all the week, his 17th birthday just in sight. The little collie pup, abandoned by its mother and farmer, snapped at the raindrops that distorted the water’s edge. Immediately, almost as if it was a chemical reaction, he felt the need to take pity upon this puppy and get her out of the rain. Scooping up the puppy, Jax entered the abandoned barn, wrapping Phoenix in a towel he’d been carrying for a few days. Noticing that the puppy had russet-brown fur, he bestowed the name Phoenix upon her. Throughout those months that turned into years, he trained her in Greek to be a well-behaved companion and traveling partner. But, Phoenix always ignored his word to play in the rippling water.
Snapping out of the memory, Jax shook his head, tears dotting his cheeks. He didn’t notice that he was silently crying, or that particular memory of Phoenix made him cry. After all, he still had his best friend with him. Phoenix climbed out of the water, padding over to Jax and licking his wet cheeks. She was a great emotional companion too. “How far.” Jax took a steady breath. “How far away do you think other people are? And do you think they have beloved pets?” He shrugged. “Should we go look for others? Or blind ourselves from the possibility.” Jax looked down at the ground. “Sooner or later, we’re going to have to search.”
(just a preface before anyone is confused, Cherry knew Jesse in the old roleplay so Atlas and i are going to have them already know each other, she's just out rn)
"I will take dog food i guess." Jesse says with a sigh, not caring too much about what he had to offer anymore. Maybe the cars battery but that was all. She preferred being alone, but she already had one person staying with her plus her dog. What was two more?
The more people the more powerful they were. The easier it would be to push through groups of zombies. Easier to take over other groups.
Though knowing Cherry, Jesse assumed she wouldn't be okay with that. Maybe these people will?
She doubted it.
Jesse looks down to the womans wound, her eyes skimming over it.
a scrape. the hell? What the f**k did she do to get shot? she thinks to herself, knowing a bullet wound from anywhere. She's had one too many in her lifetime to not know a bullet wound when she sees one.
She looks up to her and raises an eyebrow "how- nevermind" she says, deciding to ask her about it later, digging out a pair of elongated tweezers from the bag. "do you have a belt you can bite down on?" she asks her, looking around for one herself.
Though her attention flicks back to the man as he speaks of a kid. What? She stands, looking through the front windshield of the RV to see a child on the ground. "Is it dead? Leave it" she shrugs, not caring about it. Though looking at it more, she sees the kids chest rise and fall.
oh shit.
She shoves past the man and barrels through the door, taking her pistol out and looking around for anything around the child.
(sorry Jesse curses so much :(

(no bc yall, this is so sad. I could never be around Jax for this one reason. The other night i legit cried myself to sleep bc i learned some random bunny that someone found on the road died. (i also have a pet rabbit and i could never TT^TT) I love Jax though :D
Cassius smiles at the fact that Jax had accepted the fact that he wouldn't be able to hunt with this leg, as earlier he was trying to get him to not hunt at all.
"Im glad that even if i couldn't change your mind about hunting yourself, the dog could have" he jokes.
Cass couldn't stop him from doing what he wanted. He is a grown man after all. But he cared for him, as much as he could for only knowing him for a few days. The two hadn't been alone for a tremendous amount of time, his wife only having died about a month ago, but it was nice to have someone else around.
Jax was a friend and a nice distraction from what had happened with Eleanor and honestly, Cassius didn't know if him and Ophelia would make it out here by themselves. Not without her….
But here they are, sitting at the edge of the river with their feet in the water, Fia and Phoenix playing in the water. Cassius felt as if he could stay here forever, listening to only the things that bring him peace. His daughter laughing and the leaves rustling in the soft breeze.
Of course the mosquitos were out as well as any other bug. As nature regains its strength, the number of animals does as well. And sadly that included bugs.
Cassius never minded most bugs, excluding ants, mosquitos and flies. Beetles and worms, centipedes, etc. never bothered Cassius. He remembered how his mother liked to collect them, pinning their wings and hanging them on the walls in gorgeous frames to admire and appreciate their beauty even in death.
Cassius looks to Jax to see the tears running down his cheeks. He was sure he was thinking of a bittersweet memory as well. Cass places a hand on Jax's back for a few seconds just to let him know that he was there for him. Though soon after Phoenix jumps out of the water and towards Jax. Cassius leans away, not wanting to get as wet.
Though soon Cassius pulls the clothes from the basket and the small amount of homemade soap he had. He needed to get to making a few batches more. He still had a good bit of lye, maybe Jax would be fine with him using the tallow from the kills he's gotten from hunting.
Cassius pulls out the homemade wash board as well, his mother having made it years and years back. Why he kept something as small as this he never knew. But he didn't start using it until recently so it was in almost perfect condition. It was the little things from his mother he was able to keep, so why not.
He runs the clothes repeatedly against the metal grooves in the wash board before looking up to Jax at his question, his movements slowing now.
"i don't think they're far. And surely they have animals just as you…" he says softly, looking back to the board "i think plenty of other people are out there. And id love to find them. But i can't put my daughter at risk." he says, looking over to her as she dunks her head under water and bounces back up again as if she were having the time of her life. She probably was.
"I'd like to think i can stay here forever and live out my life in peace, but i fear you're right…." his voice trails off as he wrings out Jax's shirt.
They didn't hear me… Peregrine curled up a bit on the ground, exhausted. He really couldn't go any further at this point, and he had resigned himself to the fact that nobody would come when he heard footsteps. He looked up, hugging his stomach with both arms but avoiding putting pressure on his hands. He still kept his plush dog close with one arm, as it seemed to comfort him somewhat.
There wasn't anyone or anything around him, thankfully. He'd seen a few zombies during his few days alone, but thankfully hadn't had any run-ins. A few close calls, sure, but he was good enough at keeping quiet to avoid too much trouble. Starvation and infection were his main enemies right now.
He looked up weakly as Jesse approached him, hoping she was coming to help, but the sight of her pistol scared him. He whined nervously and tried to move away, but found himself unable to do so very well. Guns were bad. They made loud noises that could alert zombies, and they hurt people. Peregrine was forbidden from touching the few guns his parents had in the house for killing zombies with. He curled up more tightly and hid his face in his toy, his eyes screwed shut as though anticipating a blow or loud sound.
(Oh that makes sense lol) Shaun watches as Jesse exits the RV, totally not stumbling a little when he's shoved past. Ok, rude, he'll admit laughing at a childs injuries was a little uncalled for but tf hat doesn't warrant being shoved- well this is Jesse's RV but still. He glances at Angela before following Jesse outside, resting one hand on the pocket that held his pocket knife. He will bring it out if need be, but that does put him in a bad light when it's revealed he's still carrying a weapon. While a pocket knife isn't much it'd still send the message that he was ready to use it for something, be it against one of the women or Jesse's dog. He stays a few feet behind Jesse as he follows, observing the child from afar. Ok so..his hands look absolutely terrible, the poor dude must've passed out from whatever ungodly infection got into those cuts. For a second it reminds him of himself, one of the multiple times he ran away from one of his foster homes, but that thought is dismissed. He's over that, he's done thinking about it. Nobody wanted him so he doesn't want anybody either. Man that kid looks scared though- he makes the correlation pretty quickly and shifts his gaze towards Jesse again, "Aye, the guns scaring him dude, might wanna put it away."
(Ik noone asked but like, I always like to imagine Shaun's voice sounds like the male voice ENA has lmao)
