(HAHAHA im fine with that! XD)
The air is nice and crisp this early in the morning, the snow melting in the springs newly born heat as Jesse and Ghabiun sit in the grass outside of a gas station.
The gas stations lights flicker on and off as a man's bloody corpse leans over the counter, blood spilling from his head and his eyes staring blankly at nothing. Flies swirl around him and soon other animals would come to pick the flesh off bone.
Jesse reaches her hand towards the large dog beside her, scratching his back as he wags his small stump of a tail. Ghabiun sat taller than her when they sat down, which was an odd feeling to her but she's gotten used to it.
Ghabiun pants heavily as he looks around, orange eyes following a group of birds in the sky, though he quickly looks to Jesse only to lick her face. She leans away, but he gets to her nonetheless, covering the side of her cheek with dog slobber.
She sighs, wiping it off of her face and patting the side of his face before standing. Jesse turns around to see her large RV parked beside the gas station. She had siphoned as much gas as she could from the gas station and it was time to bring the gas cans in and get on the road. Though she thought she would enjoy a few moments out in the heat for a little while before having to leave the city.
She snaps her fingers as she walks towards the rv, Ghabiun getting up and quickly following behind. Jesse reaches for the handle of the door, opening it and stepping aside for the burly dog to hop in, tilting the vehicle to the side a little.
Jesse picks up the last two gas cans and sets them inside before rounding the RV and hopping into the drivers side. Beside her on the floor was a duffle bag filled with things she had looted from the gas station earlier this morning amongst other things. Though seeing as the station had already been looted days beforehand, and the clerk clearly shot dead, there wasn't much to be looted. A few packs of cigs, lighters, some snacks, cheep canned food, jerky and a container of water bottles were the only thing to be looted. Though its exactly what jesse had been looking for.
Starting the car, Ghabiun jumps onto the passenger side seat and she rolls the window down for him to peak his head out before pulling out out the lot and onto the road.
Cassius sets the basket of dirty clothes next to the rivers bank before sitting down. He slips his shoes off and dips his feet in, his daughter watching him and doing the same thing.
She kicks her feet around, splashing water everywhere. Ophelia stops to notice something in the water, stepping in and picking up a shiny quarter.
The breeze felt nice against Cass's skin as it blows through the leaves. Trees surround them and the forest is full of life.
Small bunnies rustle in the bushes and occasionally you may be able to spot a deer nearby.
Cassius turns to Jax, someone he would call a friend even though they had only met a few days ago.
Jax had shown up on their doorstep bloody and bruised. Cass had stitched him up with fishing line and gave him a place to stay and a belly full of tomato soup which he hated. Now, the three had gone out to the stream about half a mile from Cassius' farmhouse to wash the clothes and so Jax could hunt. Though Cass worried about his wounds.
"You wanna stay here for a second before going on your own? The water outta feel good in this heat" He offers. Cassius' voice is slightly scratchy but it has a soft tone to it. A caring, fatherly tone.
Fia looks up to Jax, holding out the peice of money that now meant nothing in terms of currency.
Angela hadn't exactly been prepared for the apocalypse once she headed out to get supplies every one around here was either dead or left the stores were stripped of food and medicine everything that could have been useful to her her car was stolen and the only thing she had was a backpack with very little supplies in it she walked along the road her hair blowing in her face due to the slight breeze she shivered a little her eyes tired but vigilant she was on her way to a nearby gas station hoping to find foood water anything that could help she was walking for about an hour or so before she sae headlights and a spark of hope lit up inside her she straightened herself up a bit before waving her hand "hey!" She stopped in her tracks so she didn't pose a threat but kept her hands up hopefully whoever saw her would stop give her direction food anything she was desperate and alone she just needs help
(im gonna wait a hot second for someone else before posting again just so i dont single us out immediately)
(Lmao okays)
Shaun's beat up old silver car was the only thing getting him out of this city, simultaneously a pain in the ass but also the most important thing he could have right now. Inside this junk car was everything, and I mean everything he could've fit, from weapons to food and water. Which is why he's really counting on it not breaking down while he's on the road. There's no way he could leave without it, even if he chucked some less necessary things and tried to carry the bare necessities in his duffle bag that wouldn't work, he'd be slower than a literal zombie. Which isn't good when the entire city is swarmed by them. So here he is, on the outskirts of the city, driving his totally-not-falling-apart car to who knows where. Anythings better than a crumbling zombie infested city. He stares out the front windshield for a while, noticing an RV somewhat ahead of him. And, just his luck, theres even a person on the side of the road too! Of course he's being sarcastic, the fact that there's someone else on this road means that the gas station he just passed is completely empty, but also he could be in danger. Nothing his trusty guns can't fix. "..Fish, what do you think?" He whispers, only to get a meow in return from the tabby cat next to him. "..you're right, too risky. Let's just hope they turn and get on another road." ((Don't mind him talking to his cat, he was borderline crazy even before the apocalypse
As Jesse drives, she spots the car before she spots the girl, assuming it was a zombie in the distance. Looking to the car, her eyes narrow and curiosity takes over. She was sure if she let them, they would pass without a word. As that was most of everyone's interactions with her lately, not wanting anything to do with anyone else. Only focused on themselves and getting out of the city. It was riddled with death after all. Who would want to be there?
Lifting her foot off the gas pedal, the vehicle coast's' for a second as she turns the steering wheel to the side and pressing on the brake. The rv drifts for a second, tilting to the side before coming to a complete stop, sitting horizontal on the road and crossing off the road with the large vehicle.
Looking closer now as the figure waves its hands and Jesse decides to direct her attention onto her. It wasn't every day someone was asking you for your attention. Not here.
She grabs the pistol from the side of her belt that had been accompanied by her large black and silver machete in a sheath, pulling a large chain from the dashboard and latching it to Ghabiuns collar before getting out of the RV.
Jesse shuts the door behind Ghabiun when the large dog jumps down from the seat and onto the ground. She mumbles a few things in german to Ghabiun before looking from the woman to the car, a man inside. She had to be careful, as she didn't see what he had. The woman didn't seem to be a threat to her, so she decides to try her best and be careful with him.
She was really hoping to not run into anyone today but this might be her lucky day. Maybe she could loot more than the gas station today.
"You with him?" she asks the woman, pulling the barrels slide back and aiming it at the car's windshield. Her voice is scratchy and loud as she shouts, though no anger seemed to be directed towards her. Plenty of defensive aggression though.
Ghabiun next to her growls lowly at the woman, not sensing there was someone in the car. Though he stands still, he obviously wanted to go up to her. Jesse knew that would be a mistake though, as Ghabiun wouldn't hesitate to bite an arm off if not more.
She holds the chain tightly even though her dog obeys her, she could tell he was getting antsy.
Angela watched as the new set of headlights appeared and she froze for a moment an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach she only had one weapon on her a machete strapped to her back under her bag out of sight but it wouldn't be much help against a gun, she watched as the RV came to a halt and she sucked in a sharp breath she watched as a rather muscled woman climbed out and then the dog and then she spotted the gun she took a step back her hear racing she watched as she pulled the gun facing it toward the gray car coming up to them 'am i with him no im not with anybody why would i be standing in the road if i was with somebody?' she shook her head no not saying anything she wasn't sure what to do she mostly watched the chain the woman held calculating if she would have enough time to pull her machete if she were to let got of the dog now she didn't want to hurt the doh but it it was her life or its life she'd have to use it
Convenient car breakdowns»)) Shaun frowns when the RV stops, watching as a woman steps outside with a big dog. Oh of course she's pointing her gun at his windshield, can he have no peace? Not even ten minutes ago he had to run over a few zombies, now he's encountering some hostile people. Well, the woman on the side of the road could be fine? She doesn't have much, he's mostly worried about the woman with the gun and dog. He shakes his head before sighing, turning his steering wheel and intending to just drive past them..until the sounds his car is making intensified, before letting out one final cough as the wheels roll to a stop not far from the others. He sits there for a moment before slamming his hands down on the steering wheel, going to grab his keys to try and start his car again. That doesn't work, so he tries one more time to no avail. Shit, fuck, it must be the engine. He just filled up his tank before leaving, there goes a tank of gas. "..Jesus christ..stay here, Fish." He sighs, grabbing his gun before opening the door and stepping outside his car. This could definitely go badly, but if he doesn't take a risk he could be stranded.
Jesse watches as the man tries and tries again to restart the car, seeming angry about it. Ghabiun focus' on the woman while Jesse's attention is drawn to the man as he steps out with a gun. Her muscles tense up and she steps towards him, only by a few steps.
Now about a yard away, her pistol follows his head as he moves. "DROP IT!" she shouts to him, her german accent more prominent the louder her voice gets. "Drop and i wont shoot you!!" she says loudly, her finger on the trigger. It would be easier to shoot him. And in any normal situation she would. But she preferred to figure out if he had any others with him before he drops dead to the ground.
And plus, there was no guarantee that they wouldn't try anything. In this world it was every man for himself and Jesse, even though she was a woman, held no exceptions to this rule.
Ghabiun paws the gravel road impatiently, wanting to bark at the man. His head turns towards the man, then back at the woman, back and forth as if he couldn't decide who to pay attention to.
Jax looked up to the sky, watching the clouds roll past the burning sun. The rays hit his face and he shifted his body to block the sun from blinding. He glanced over to Cassius, creating a sharp whistle with his tongue. A medium-sized dog ran out from the woods, its brown and white fur cut semi-short. It circled around Jax’s legs, laying down by his foot. He singled for the pup to stand up, and it did. “Phoenix, you want to hunt girl?” The breeze blew through his hair, spilling the blue flowers he had plucked out of the ground and threaded through his hair. Phoenix’s fur tangled in the wind, her slobber blowing onto Jax’s leg. He sighed and wondered over to Cass, sitting next to the man he might as well call a friend. Phoenix padded over to Jax, pressing her nose against his hand. He scratched behind his pup's ear, turning his head towards Cass. He pushed his hair out of his face, readjusting the waistline of his pants. “I mean— I guess I could sit here for a few minutes. The heat doesn’t really bother me.” Phoenix lapped at the water’s edge, sending ripples throughout the river. Jax smiled, looking at the quarter Fia held up to him. “That’s a quarter, Fia, but I assume you already know that. It’s sad how fast everything collapsed.” He shut his mouth, realizing what he was saying to a young child. Closing his eyes, he imagined the world without people. Grass grew rampant and animals ran around in harmony. He reopened his eyes, glad that Cass had let him stay. What would he have done otherwise? Especially with Phoenix.
Angela stood still somehow she didn't seem to be anymore scared when the man stepped out of the car she stood her ground accepting that she'd ether die by a dog ripping her throat out or getting shot in the head she watched the man waiting for his next move she was expecting a gun shot anything her body was shaking with adrenaline and all she wanted to do was run, sleep or cry
Shaun squints his eyes a little and watches Jesse, before his eyes go towards the dog and back towards her again. Whatever, there's no reason to get shot because he's hesitant about dropping a gun. So he does so, putting the gun down on the ground (he worked hard modifying it so there's no way he's gonna drop it) before straightening up again and holding his hands up in the air. If he can't get his gun again he always has a pocket knife, not that it'd do much. "Ok jeez, sorry for wanting protection against potentially hostile strangers. If you didn't notice, my piece of junk car broke down, I was just going to ask for help." His voice dropped an octave with that last word, he's never been one for asking strangers to help him but here he is. He watches Jesse for a while longer before glancing at the other woman, she looks kindof scared? Makes sense, there's a huge dog and two people with guns, probably not what she'd bargained for when she flagged down this woman.
(I thought the apocalypse started 6 months ago?)
(? I thought it said that too, but why are you bringing it up?)
Ghabiun starts to bark loudly at the man when he moves, even though he was only putting the gun to the ground. Jesse completely understood why he wanted to defend himself. That's why if she were in that situation, she'd rather die. In fact, that's the exact reason she was the one to tell him to drop the gun first.
Jesse looks down to the gun as he stands up straight.
By the direction they were going, she figures they were coming from the center of the city, trying to get away from all of the rot and aggression. She didn't blame them, as if she didn't have business there she'd be long gone. As far away from there as possible. Though the thrill of it and the adrenaline rushes didn't make her time there too bad.
Ghabiun stops barking and settles for a few growls, huffing every now and again as if to control whether or not to bark.
"What else do you have in your car?" She asks, lowering her pistol. She keeps her finger on the trigger and to her side, but she decided there was no use in pointing it at them unless he picked up his gun and the woman secretly had a weapon she was hiding.
"Why would i help you anyway?"

Cassius looks over to the dog, his expression soft and relaxed, the cold water rushing over his feet. His brown eyes skim over the flowers in Jax's hair he had picked in his backyard and his lips curve into a smile before he turns back towards the water, focusing on the ripples and the shadows it creates on the bottom. The water would be clearer if Ophelia hadnt gotten in and kicked up all of the dirt. But he could still see the bottom decently well. A small crawdad skitters out from underneath a rock and past Fia's feet without her noticing. If she did, she most definitely would have tried to catch it, give it a kiss, and name it. As she did with most animals.
Just a few days ago Ophelia had brought in a butterfly she had caught, crying her eyes out because she accidentally killed it when she tried to kiss it. It was a rather large moth that had already been dead. But Cassius wasn't going to tell her that.
Ophelia blinks a few times at Jax as he finishes his rather grim sentence, only to laugh "i know its a quarter!" she says, setting it to the side.
"Can Pheonix come in the water too!?" she asks excitedly.
(ah i totally forgot it had. i fixed it sorry)
(i totally thought someone said that they wanted the apocalypse to have just started or something. My apologies guys)
(Lol its completely fine, just a tiny mistake that doesn't change much)
"Well, there's a duffel bag, but if I tell you what's in there you might try and loot me. There's no way I'd get to it before you shot me dead anyways. And, there's my cat, she'd love meeting your little guy, but I'm afraid he might maul her." Shaun huffs, watching as Jesse lowers her gun. Thats..a little reassuring, though her finger seems to still be on the trigger. The other woman hasn't done anything so he'll just focus on Jesse and her big scary dog. As if on cue after his words, Fish appears in his cars back window, letting out a muffled 'meow' as she paws at the glass. She always hated being alone but he's not taking her outside. "Oh I dunno, perhaps out of the kindness of your own heart? If you even have one? Maybe because I have things I'd be willing to trade, even? Just a suggestion, if not I guess you can just drive off and I'll succumb to zombies, heat stroke, or food poisoning. Really my life is in your hands here. You wouldnt want an innocent cat to die either, would you?" He huffs, grinning a little as he uses his head to jesture back towards Fish in the window. He's just a little cocky and doesn't know when to shut his mouth, don't worry about him.
Angela decided to speak up a burning feeling in her bleeding leg "fo either of you have medication, bandages anything? I fell earlier i don't want it to get infected i don't have much but if be willing to make a trade.." she spoke lound enough foe the two to hear her but hopefully not loud enough to attract a hotd of those..things she motioned to her bloody denim jeans which had a few holes in them she took a slight step forward with her hands up "i promise im not looking for a fight ill only fight if i need to i just need some help im asking you, please. "
(i'll be joining in a bit, if you'll still have me :)
(I don't see why not :0 as long as Celeste is still fine with it lmao)
Jesse listened to the man talk, her eyes narrowing down on him, though now holstering her pistol, leaving it loaded still.
He was right about a few things. One, Ghabiun would 100% maul the cat if not worse if he had the chance. Though Ghabiun listened to Jesse, there were some things that weren't easy to control. And she wouldn't deny him a little snack.
Two, if she did know what was in the back, there was a good chance she would end up stealing it, though she would also shoot him if he tried to show her. She didn't care much for it anyway. With the looting of the gas station back there, she didn't need much else. But even so, loot was loot. And Jesse didn't take kindly to any of it not being hers.
When the cat appears and starts to whine(that's what Jesse sees it as) Ghabiun immediately starts to run towards the man and barks. His eyes were perked up and slobber drips from his mouth. Jesse quickly yanks back on the chain, positioning her feet in a way that they would stay planted.
"Nein!" She tells the dog firmly, shouting a few more things in german to him. He eventually stopped pulling on the chain leash and let out a loud whine, obviously not happy about the fact that Jesse wouldn't let him eat the cat.
Normally one would say she's rough with Ghabiun, but with the large dog that could take even her down, you could never be too careful. If anything she was too lax with him. As his aggression level is far too high for a domesticated dog. Jesse learns how to handle his aggression, not diminish it; and most of the time she learns how to take advantage of it as well.
Once Ghabiun was settled down enough to speak without being bit, Jesse replies to the man before the woman speaks up.
"I do not care about cat. I've eaten them" she says, dismissing his last sentence.
"I will trade though" Jesse replies, though her attention quickly turning towards the girl, surprised she spoke up.
"Come" she says, turning towards the RV and opening the door on its side. Ghabiun jumps into the RV, happy to be back inside. He lays down on the wooden floor, panting heavily as he waits for Jesse to follow him. Though Jesse waited for the girl to come, looking to the man as well as if inviting him as well.
