Salmook flinches, and he's stuck there for a moment processing it all. It's the jabby-man! Are the other jabbies here, too?! His eyes are wide with confused shock. How did the jabby-man get here so fast?
Salmook tenses. He doesn't know a lot about Daph-friend, but he does know that the jabby-man isn't on their side.
He pounces at he man's back, latching on and climbing up.
"Let go Daph-friend!"
The man lets go of Daphne and reaches behind himself, prying Salmook off his back and shoving him to the side. He turns back to Daphne and grabs her again, shaking her this time. ”Answer me.”
Daphne squeezes her eyes shut and whimpers. “We- I- I wasn’t doing anything- We were just-“
The man grabs her wrist, then grabs Salmook’s. He drags them both out of the room, and shoves them both away. “Get out. Now.”
Daphne stumbles and catches herself with the end of a table, trembling. “Sorry…“
Salmook tumbles to the ground. It doesn't hurt, really… okay, maybe it does, but he's more surprised if anything.
"Bad jabby! Me eat you for breakfast!"
He sits up, sticking out his tongue and pulling on his cheeks. What's so important about that room, anyways? Salmook reaches to fix his cloak on his shoulders. He balls a fist and shakes it at the jabby-man.
"No hurt friend! Or me… me'll bite off you nose!"
(how tall is undefined man anyways-)
(Uhhhhh tall)
(I don’t know I’d say around 6 foot)
Tseth stands up from against the wall. Shit, I zoned out. Where is everyone? He exits the room and hallway, walking into the main room. And then he sees the staff member with Daphne and Salmook.
In the blink of an eye he’s at the mans throat with one of the knives he stole. ”Touch either of them and I will make sure you never breathe again.” He makes an involuntary growling noise as he stares the man down.
The man tenses and glares at Tseth. He glances at the knife… wait a minute. “Where did you get that?” Shit, someone forgot to lock the storage room, didn’t they? Idiot.
(who am I kidding, of course I am.)
Tseth returns the mans glare. Lies come easy, but even so this one might not work. "I've always had it, no one bothered to ask. Didn't bother to use it."
The man stays silent for a moment. He doesn’t seem to believe Tseth. Whatever. We’ll take it later. He sighs. “Fine. I have better things to do.” He steps away from Tseth, then locks the door to the staff room and the storage room. He looks back at Daphne and Salmook. “I better not see you snooping around again.” And with that, he leaves the main room.
Daphne just stands there, still leaning on the edge of the table. She stares down at the table, zoning out slightly. Her breathing is quick and shallow, and she’s still shaking a bit.
(Buddy your magic teleportation machine missed a knife cmonn)
(sshh it's late over here im dozing off-)
(one more reply and then I'm going to bed)
Tseth puts away the knife and turns to Daphne. He moves to stand next to her, looking down at her concerned. “Daphne… it’s alright now. He’s gone.” How does Alex do this?
Salmook looks up at Tseth-friend and then back down to Daph-friend.
"We… we try explore! And see room with lot parchment. Try read them, and boom! Jabby-man!"
He shakes his head, calming himself back down.
"Me sorry, Daph-friend. Is my idea. No mean hurt."
Daphne snaps out of it and looks up at Tseth, startled. She shakes her head and buries her face in her hands for a few moments, trying to push memories back out of her mind. Stop it, you're fine. She crosses her arms and stares at the floor, not zoning out but certainly distracted.
(It's fine, it's fine, it's only 5 pages worth of reading to do-)
