The male sighed, but then a slight smirk appeared on his face. His jacket moved ever so slightly, hands moving towards his hips. The shadows swirled around for a moment, then died down again. As for the roc, it's eyes shifted towards the newest arrivals, then back to its owner. The creature's golden eyes swirled much like the man's from red, to gold, and so forth. It's body tensed up, the feathers raising around its body.
"Is that so? Well, sorry girly, but dragon boy here don't currently have a tag on him saying that he belongs to anyone."
His head moved, looking upwards towards the pair. His white hair swayed ever so slightly in the breeze. However, the man didn't make a move from his place. He still held his slight smirk, showing no hostility whatever. He instead gave a small shrug.
"Oh don't worry, we'll be on our way in no time. Just don't go running back to wherever you belong and start tattling. Ah, the life of a mercenary, assassin, bounty hunter…whatever the hell I am, I do them all anyways, is such a thankless one. Oh well, I just get paid."
The man then walked over to the roc. He stood perfectly on the creature's back, it being that large. Once again he seemed to tap the creature once again. The giant roc stood up, walking over. Giant talons carefully wrapped around Eberaus' body, the bird's massive wings then opened, leaping upwards taking flight. Though the creature came to over several feet above both Aaron and Nykidia.
The male leaned over the side of his mount. His eyes were once again glowing bright red, "Like I said, I was told to get this guy by any means necessary."
He suddenly flashed a menacing grin, "So I suppose I shall be on my way then. Au revoir!"
The roc then suddenly started to take off, flying above the city.
The hydra sighed softly. He listened quietly to the world around him. All three heads had grown silent as they sat there in the diner. Though eventually Kirdairn finally broke the quiet.
~Oi, time get a move on Mylnorr. We're done here. Fishy holed herself up in her room, so might as well take advantage~.
Mylnorr listened, then simply nodded. He stood up, walking forward. Before he left, the male set a few gold coins on the table. Course, this didn't go over too well with Kirdairn.
~Really? Giving some of our hoard to fishy? You know we have so little of that left. The rest is still in our cave…unless those bastards found it…~.
"F***!" Nykidia yelled as she grabbed Aaron and started jumping from building to building following the guy. With each jump shadows twisted around her legs for a moment so she could jump higher and farther. "Can't let him get away!" Nykidia yelled. "If I could just get closer- Damn it!" She said as the bird got too far away from her to jump on.
Nysaxiope arrived on the rooftop to see a creature riding a huge bird creature she didn't recognize riding off with Eberaus in its talons. Nykidia yelled then grabbed Aaron's arm and started jumping humanly impossible distances from building to building with shadows around her legs. What the hell is happening to her? Nys thought, then realized, Wait, what just happened to Eberaus?! Nys whipped her tail quickly as she swam through the air, trying to keep up with them until Nykidia stopped and yelled some more. Nysaxiope lowered herself to about ten feet above the roof of the building Aaron and Nykidia was on and asked, "What the fuck just happened?"
"Aaaahhhh!" Nykidia said as she jumped. "Where the frick did you come from?"
"You'll never know my secrets," Nysaxiope said with a grin. "Jk there's a window in my room and I can float thirty feet off the ground."
Nykidia grabbed her arm as well. "We have to go get Eberaus!" She said as she started jumping again. "He got taken! If that wasn't obvious."
Nysaxiope flopped along in the air awkwardly like a flag. "What's happening with those shadows? It doesn't look good. And how are you able to jump this far?" She asked Nykidia. "I can carry one of you and we can try to catch up with that big bird thing, while one of you explain what is happening."
Nykidia basically threw Aaron into Nysaxiope and kept jumping. "They are thrusting me into the air. This guy is taking Eberaus. I'm guessing that he is a bounty hunter or a poacher. He or whoever he was employed by probably wants to sell him or parts of Eberaus on the black market." She said.
Lovino smirks holding out a hand “names Lovino Vargas But you can call me sparky,” he says
Quin looked down at the hand. "No thank you." He said as Heath gave him a glare that screamed don't be rude.
Lovino sighs “ok but do be carful here,” he shakes his head ‘they seam to be older than me but don’t want to make friends…’ he looks at them and walks off with a quick bye and spying Nysaxiope and walking faster.
Heath just sighed. "Come on, let's go home. I'll show you the cafe later." He said, pulling Quin along by the sleeve of his jacket.
Aaron clenched his hands into fists as he tried to contain the magic flickering wildly around them, a low growl coming from his throat. That lil' sh-t! Rage quickly started blurring his senses as he thought of the man's insulting attitude and actions. Had the man been any closer he probably would have tackled him. He growled louder as Nykidia shoved him towards the newly appeared Nysaxiope, sending a warning glare in her direction. The smallest thing could set him off right now and he didn't appreciate being pulled along without warning, and with the barely controlled magic who ever he took his anger out on would not have a good time. At least I have enough moral to not sell someone!
"Auauaaa," Nysaxiope made a surprised noise as Nykidia practically threw Aaron at her midair. She got a firm arm under Aaron's middle, made a little is this okay? noise and went back to quickly whipping her tail to keep up with the younger girl. "I guess that makes sense. And do people really want gross pieces of dragon? What would they even do with them?"
"Dragons have many abilities. Sometimes they can be used for healing or magic. But mostly it's something for sick mob leaders to hang around there neck or on there wall to look 'cool'." Nykidia said now jumping slightly faster as she said this. "I should of told him. I should of told him things like this happen."
Lovino jumps up and flys next to Nysaxiope “um what going on?” He questions still flying
"What the f***?" Nykidia yelled.
"How much do various limbs of sea dwelling creatures sell for? My parents could be adding more to their fortune." Nysaxiope asked, voice going somewhat sour when she mentioned her parents.
"You really are a god, aren't you?" Nys said. "Oh yeah, you two, Lovino's a god by the way."
Lovino flinches “hello to you to.” He grumbled out “and ya lighting causes me to have an electric field so I float aka fly.”
"Uuuuhhh. Haven't checked in a while. Usually around 4200 g. Not as much as dragons but still a lot. But usually sirens are sold for something…different." Nykidia said. "God we're discussing the black market while trying to save someone from it." Nykidia thought.
The figure glanced backwards out of the corner of his eye, noticing the 'parade' behind him. He released a sigh, "Children just don't know when to keep their hands clean don't they? Keep going Roric. We really don't have time for this."
As having heard its master, the creature's wings beat the air, thrusting itself forward, quickly gaining speed. Despite the city below, the darkness continued to swirl around them, keeping them hidden from prying eyes below. Though it was simply the fact of having unwanted guests following behind.
"I would just use the shadows, but that woman's 'pet' is such a pain to deal with," the male grimaced, "Bastard nearly killed me when I set foot inside her quarters."
He shook his head, turning his eyes back forward. The creature below him seemed to make a strange sound. Its golden eyes glowed as shadowy tendrils seemed to shed from its already shadowy form.
"Oh don't worry Roric, you know to not intervene less my life is in absolute danger."
Hearing the reassurance, the creature once again started to gain speed, wings flapping to fly through the sky.
Eventually the creature started to slow down as they came to land upon the roof of a rather massive looking building. As the shadowy bird landed, the man hopped off, landing perfectly on his two feet. The giant bird started to shrink, once again returning to the normal size of a raven. He suddenly uttered an unknown word under his breath. At the voice, the raven's form once again started to change, shadows swarming, twisting, and turning. As the shadows dispersed, a nightmarish serpent was now curled in the crow's place. The white-haired male held out his arm to it. As he did, the serpent slithered towards the outstretched hand, curling upwards around the man's arm, soon coming to curl around his neck. Like the raven form, the vicious snake's eyes were bright red.
"There you are my pet, now let's finish our delivery and be on our merry way shall we?"
Aaron was still growling threateningly, on the edge of snapping as his magic flickered more. Unconsciously he had his hands holding onto Nysaxiope's forearms so he wouldn't fall, but he wasn't paying attention as his grip tightened. He glared at Lovino, his frustrated self making him take everything as a reason to fight. "A god?" He snapped, "The h-ll difference does that make? Am I supposed to care? I HELPED MAKE THIS F–KING PLACE!" He was about ready to tear someone apart right now, his eyes like a wild predator as he waited for someone to say something to push him over the edge. He wasn't thinking of what he was saying, he wasn't thinking straight at all, and he didn't care how he acted. All he knew was he was angry and wanted to pick a fight. He hardly even realized the man they were after was slowing down.
"Holy shit, really? Damn, I'm never telling them that they could sell their disposal bin for that much gold. And I didn't mean specifically sirens. Y'know like the bottom of a tail for a mermaid, some naiad's arm, stuff like that. And soooooo many human parts. Like, so many that in the 23 years I lived there I could never manage to count." Nysaxiope said in awe. "Yeah. So do you guys have any plan? They just kinda disappeared."
Quin looked up at the rooftops where there were people congregating, after of bit of staring he turned to Heath. "Is this normal?" He asked, tilting his head. Heath copied the motion. "No, not usually. Should we check it out?" He asked with a strange glint in his eyes. Quin noticed the glint and began backing away. "No, no, no, no. Not again. I will not cover for your ass again." He says as Heath grabs his arm. "Oh silly, you won't have to cover for me, cause you'll be coming with me!"
Nykidia grabbed Aaron from Nysaxiope. "Aaron I know that your still angry from earlier but do me a favor and hold on to that anger a bit longer. We're going to need it. I have a feeling that it won't be easy getting Eberaus out of that guys hands. I know you don't like heights but you need to hold on." She said as she started jumping higher and faster than before.
