Aliana had a little smile on because now he was in a much better position. She continued sketching glad she hadn't gotten very far in her drawing.
Aliana had a little smile on because now he was in a much better position. She continued sketching glad she hadn't gotten very far in her drawing.
Hatta brushed a lock of hair out of his face, completely absorbed in his book. He took no notice of her watching him.
Aliana continued to sketch now biting her lip in thought as she tried to capture this happy little moment in her book. It was her notebook of happy little moments, and it wasn't very full at the moment. She hoped she would have more chances to fill it on this journey.
Hatta started to hum again, his purple eyes flickering slightly as he read through his story.
Aliana bit her lip. He looked so engrossed in the story and she was starting to get curious as to what he was reading, but it would be rude to ask. So instead she continued to skethc from afar the question gnawing at her mind.
Hatta continued humming, and ran his hand through his hair again, leaving it sticking up in red and white tufts.
Aliana couldn't take her curiosity anymore. She paused her sketching and asked carefully, "What are you reading?"
"Hmm?" he looked up. "Oh. It'sā¦" he checked the cover. "I don't actually know." he chuckled.
"How do you not know?" Aliana asked shifting a little closer from where she was sitting to where Hatta was laying.
"It doesn't have the original cover, and I bought it without the cover, and there's nothing in the book telling me what it's called."
Aliana bit her lip in concentration before she set aside her sketch and walked over to where Hatta was, "Nothing on the first page or two of the book?"
(gtg to bed now. Good night!)
Hatta shook his head, looking at her. "Nope."
(Night!)
Aliana thought for a moment before carefully holding out her hand, "Do you mind if I check?"
Hatta shrugged, and handed the book to her. "Sure."
Aliana took the book and flipped it to the first few pages without losing Hatta's place in the book. There wasn't a title text there, "Huh that is strange."
"Yeah. But it's a good book." He replied with a quick smile. "Can I have it back now so I can continue reading?"
Aliana quickly gave the book back to him, "Oh, yes, of course. Thank you for letting me check."
He nodded. "Yeah, you're welcome." he replied with a shrug. He lay back down on his side, reading.
Aliana gave a slight nod and moved back over to her bed to continue her sketch. Hatta was such a funny man, but he seemed kind so far.
Hatta started to hum again, legs crossed as he lay on his side still. His hat lay on the nightstand.
Aliana finally took her hat off when it drew the final straw slipping down to where she almost couldn't see. She reached into her bag and grabbed her little pocket mirror to make sure her hair wasn't ruined. It was fine as she thought, so she put the mirror away and continued her sketch only having the face left to draw. Possibly the most difficult part of the entire process.
Hatta brushed a strand of hair out of his eyes, still humming. His red and white hair stuck up off his head in an almost cray way, and his lips twitched a little as he read.
Alana studied his face for a few moments making little notes about the look in his eyes and the way his lips twitched a little. She started slowly marking the nose and eyes. It would never be a perfect sketch, but she knew that from the start.
Hatta sighed quietly, his purple eyes flashing over the pages contentedly. It was almost strange, seeing him like this. The brightly colored clothing, the crazy hair. All at odds with his surroundings.
Alana enjoyed the contrast. Lived for it almost. She had a little frown as she stared down at her sketch, completely unhappy with the finished product. It just didn't feel write to her.
