"Of course Rivian. How about I stay here with the youngling, and you could get someone else?" Arie didn't say it, but she thought that Rivian was jealous of her hunting skills.

Calla just looked at the two. THis who situation was so weird
arie turned to Calla.
"Do you want a bite?
Rivian removed his blazer and rolled up his sleeves as he opened the car door. "I'll be back promptly."
He climbed out of the car and wandered through the shadows of the backstreet. He hadn't intended on killing in broad daylight, but he was desperate enough to not care. If only he could find someone who wasn't in a group.
Arie watched Rivian go. This would be fun to watch.
A young woman stumbled by, pulling her cardigan close around her lean, fragile body. Her dark hair was braided to the side, and her brown eyes were dull and empty. Her lips were a sickly blue color, and her skeletal fingers indicated she hadn't eaten for quite some time.
Rivian shoved his hands into his trouser pockets, pretending not to notice the woman until she walked into him.
"I-I'm sorry!" her voice cracked, and she looked up at Rivian with a terrified expression - like she was awaiting some sort of punishment from him.
The vampire offered her a sympathetic smile. "It's my fault for not looking where I was going, m'lady, you are not at fault."
She kept her head low. "Thank you, Lord Raynford."
"You know who I am?" At first Rivian was taken aback, he didn't think someone of her nature would know who he was.
"I attended your last public speaking, the one about helping the poor." Her eyes lit up a little, and a small smile curved on her lips. "I must say, you do have a very persuasive tone."
"Thank you, that means a lot coming from a beautiful woman like yourself."
The woman scoffed, shaking her head, indicating to her figure. "I am far from beautiful, my lord."
"Nonsense." Rivian carefully took one of her hands. "You put others before yourself when you yourself are struggling, you don't let harsh words faze you. That, to me, is beautiful." Of course, he didn't truly think those characteristics were completely beautiful, but the woman believed him nonetheless.
She looked up, meeting his eyes for a split second. But a split second was all it took for her to be completely relaxed.
"Now, you look starving. Would you care for some tea at my home?" Rivian asked, his deep voice smooth like silk. The woman nodded silently, and sheepishly followed him, their hands still intertwined.
They neared Rivian's car, and that's when the woman finally spoke. "I can't be too long, my lord, I need to get home to my kids at some point."
Rivian bit his lower lip, he didn't want to hear that. He turned to the woman, making sure that Arie could see him clearly. He stared deeply into the woman's eyes with a loving smile. "Don't worry, they will be with you before you know it."
He caressed the woman's cheek before his hand found her hair. He ran his fingers through her hair a couple of times while maintaining eye contact. He smiled, revealing his fangs, and quickly yanked her hair to the side, snapping her neck. She fell to the ground, a look of horror in her still open eyes that faced the car.
(Sorry it's so long)
(perfectly fine)
Arie silently clapped. It seemed Rivian had learned after all.
Rivian knelt down to pick up the woman and found a locket around her neck. Inside the locket were photos of two small children, both boys, who had the same eyes as the woman. With a sigh, he carried the woman to his car and carefully lay her in the trunk. He climbed back into the driver's seat and closed the door. "I'll go back for the children tonight."
"Oh? Are you going soft? Or just a midnight snack? Perhaps you could give me one… I could use a newborn." Arie smiled. She knew she needed a new newborn. Her last one had rejected the idea of vampires and had gone out in the sun… and was run over by a semi.
"The day you look like something other than a lolita, then I will give you a newborn." Rivian chuckled slyly. Turning the key in the ignition, he backed out of the backstreet and sped down the road. "I never found out why you want newborns so much, Arie, don't tell me you're brooding." He slid her a quick wink and a devilish smile.
"No, I just sometimes need someone to do the chores." In reality, she got lonely.
"Don't lie to me Arie, you know that you can always call me if you get lonely. I know I'm at work most of the time, but I can get out of it for you. I wouldn't want you 'dying' of boredom." Rivian sighed. He too got lonely, all he had at home was his pet and he couldn't talk to her the way he could talk to Arie. Or anyone for that matter.
Arie smiled.
"You always did have a way of reading my mind, Edward Cullen." Arie snickered.
Rivian gagged and slammed on the brakes, turning in his seat to scowl at Arie. "How many times have I told you not to compare me to that fictional pretty boy? I mean, come on, sparkling vampires??? And, FYI, I would never go cuckoo over some human who I'd only just met! I have standards."
"Oh, come on. I've seen the looks you give pretty girls." Arie burst out laughing.
"I don't intend to." He huffed, crossing his arms. "In reality I don't find them all that attractive. As I said, I have standards."
"Oh? Since when?" She was still laughing.
"Since always." He stuck his tongue out at her. "I think you're confusing me for someone else, like yourself perhaps?"
"Oh, that's cold. Just like Edward."
"Arie, I will make you walk home if you're not careful." His tone was deadly serious, despite only half meaning his words. He wouldn't actually do anything to put Arie in danger.
"Okay, okay. I'll stop." Arie smiled.
"Thank you sweet." He smiled brightly like nothing had even happened, and slipped his glasses on as he started driving again. "Arie. Your house is on the second right, right?"
"Yes. The one with the Halloween decorations."
"Wait, did I miss Hallow's Eve again??"
The car came to a gradual halt on the driveway of a house completely covered with stunning decorations. He gaped for a moment before shaking his head. "There's not enough."
"No, no, you didn't miss Hallow's Eve. I leave them up all year round."
