The iron burn cooled down immediately, the throbbing and sharp pinpricks of pain easing while Laurie sighed in relief. "Th-thank you.", she told Kanoa gratefully, breathing in deeply. "Sorry, iron burns Faeries.", she added, embarassment kicking in while she wondered why Kanoa had done something so kind.

@Lenered

She's special! Besides every team needs that one incredibly nice and happy person. Aaaaand then something happens and they're not happy anymore. (Usually attributed to loss) Kanoa kind of balances out my stalwart team comprised of two cinnamon rolls (including Kanoa), one revenge bent bean, one bookish banana, and one coconut.

@blue_topaz

love the synonyms lol. All your characyers are so diverse and interesting and –what's the word…….– wholesome! Wholesome whole-wheat coconut characters!!

@Lenered

Kanoa glanced at her iron belt buckle and started to pry it off, "I'm glad you're okay!" she smiled at Lauriel and proceeded to check herself for any other bits of iron she could find.

@blue_topaz

*blushes then remebers I can't actually blush * Thank you!!)

Laurie saw Kanoa remove her iron buckle, and held out a hand quickly. "You don't have too! I'll be fine!", she said hurriedly.

@Lenered

Kanoa smiled as she started to take off her iron necklace, "It's fine, it's just around my waist anyway. I don't want to hurt you."

@faechain

"Yeah we had to ban all iron back at the loft after Lea moved in. Iron free over here," Mick inputted awkwardly, smiling at the generosity of the Kanoa. He pulled out his wallet, ready to pay and get out of there, forgetting the large knife his jacket had been concealing when he pulled it back to get to his pockets.

@blue_topaz

Laurie flushed purple again, wondering wen she had missed this whole kindness factor in humans. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of the large, wickedly sharp knife beneath the werewolf boy's jacket. "What. Is that?", she asked, tense now.

@faechain

"Hey, hey, it's no big deal!" Mick flustered, panicking. "It's a hazard of the job. I'm kind of a bodyguard." He prayed that his slip up wouldn't cost him the rare kindness of these people, but doubted that it would work.

@blue_topaz

Lauriel narrowed her eyes at him, used to her abrupt changes in character by now. She was pretty sure all Faries did that, but how could she know? She reached for her gun, but refrained from pulling it out just yet. It's not like he doesn't have the right to carry a weapon… I do..

@blue_topaz

(also, in Irish mythology, there are two Faerie courts, the Seelie Court [good] and the Unseelie Court [evil], which I decided to use for my 'verse. What I made up is that within these Courts, there are four denominations each. Laurie is of the Hetharfell denomination, which is why she has blue skin and moth-like wings, as well as littke gold markings spread out all over her body, very thinly spread out [meaning there aren't many])

@Lenered

Kanoa pressed her nose to Lauriel's, her rainbow eyes staring into Lauriel's eyes, and she could feel Lauriel's breath on her lips. "It's okay, I'm sure the stranger means no harm."

@blue_topaz

Laurie froze, heart racing like a caged animal. Trapped. What do I do?! Is this normal human behaviour?!, her mind scrambled.

@faechain

"Yeah! No harm meant. At all. Unless you mean harm," he cautioned, eyes on the hand which had shifted towards a weapon, adrenaline starting to kick in at the slight threat. He knew that it was stupid to feel threatened, as it was only a response, but he couldn't help what had been ingrained into him.

@blue_topaz

(by the way, just clarifying that the gun's invisible for now)

Lauriel took a step back, flustered, and turned to face the guy. "Why would we mean you any harm?", she asked, involuntarily slipping into her cool, distant, stony persona. "We don't even know your name" Where was that Nemosin guy?

@Lenered

Mnemosyne stepped out from the back holding a small glass potion bottle with bright pink fluid inside and a sprig of mugwort. "Two silvers for the mugwort and five bronze for the snapdragon extract." Kanoa rummaged through her pouch and pulled out five bronze, staring at the man, and expecting him to do the same. She felt a bit hurt that Lauriel had stepped away, she thought that they were friends?

@blue_topaz

Laurie could almost see the hurt on Kanoa's face. Sorry.. she told her mentally. The only physical contact Laurie had ever experienced was usually one of her parents trying to hurt her in some way, whether it was with a straightening iron, boiling water, a baseball bat, or their hands. It was instinct to pull away.
