”Aisen’s a little active ain’t he” the crimson hooded figure shook his head and sighed as he spoke.
”Come on, move it, or I might change my mind”
Kye nodded and turned to leave, skipping like a child as he went. Then he turned to look back at the figure. "I never got your name," he called out.
Kasai jumped off of Kasai’s shoulder and landed himself on Hinata’s head, yawning in boredom.
”Love birds…” he complained silently as he looked at Kori and Kagami.
”Nathan, Nathan Cheng Hua” the figure answered easily, turning back into the shadows and not even a minute later, a scream of fear came from the halls he maneuvered around.
Once again, two paths stood in front of Kye.
(Where to? Left or Right?)
"Indeed." Hinata spoke in hushed tones, but still smiled softly at the two in front of them. Kagami turned her head to shoot Kasai a glare, then turned back around, quickly forgetting what he had said.
This new figure didn't seem to see her either. Honestly, it's like I'm invisible, Adara sighed. This new figure seemed nice, but she of course didn't trust him.
(Mordor Gandalf, is it left or right?)
Kye looked between the two halls. He placed the little bag he was holding back in his pack, and pulled out a metal tub. He twisted it upside down and it lengthened in size, becoming twice as long. Then he tapped it on the ground and the walls. Listening to the humming sound he got back with each tap.
Do you think we should try right again? Or should we go left?
Right worked out for us last time, somehow I feel like we won't be as lucky this time with either pick.
Thank you mister optimist. We are going to try left this time.
Whatever you say. I'm with you all the way.
(I’ve gotta go, afternoon classes are here ;-;)
(Have fun, talk to ya later.)
(Nevermind I still have time for one more reply to each, [teacher’s not here today which is great])
Kasai soon stepped down and stood beside Hinata, turning into his humanoid form; a tall black haired man with a red and white yukata, a pair of sharp red eyes and tender lips, a soft-looking tail which was much fluffier than that of Kori’s and sensitive ears.
”Kori, you know Matt won’t be so happy with you doing that, right? He’d be hella jealous” Kasai mentioned, gesturing at the handholding situation that was going on.
”I don’t really care, right?” Kori answered, looking down at Kagami and gave her a soft smile.
”Guests again? What a busy man you are” the newcomer joked as he sat down on the stool by the wall.
”Unlike you, I got myself a stable job” the doctor replied, looking through the documents again.
”By working at ‘the Gardens’, mine is also a stable job” the man replied.
”Whatever you say” the doctor sighed as he spoke.
”Well, I’ll be checking on other patients, see ya later” the doctor picked up the documents and walked out, leaving only the newcomer and Adara in the room with the patient.
”So—“ the newcomer turned to Adara ”—what’s your name?”
Into the left hall, figures can be seen… dancing? There was something wrong with them and their movements. Getting closer, Kye would see that the ‘figures’ that were dancing were corpses that were tied to strings.
A psychotic laugh came from somewhere around as the several corpses that were dancing turned towards Kye, rushing at him in almost every direction.
”DANCE MY PUPPETS!! DANCE FOR ME!!” a voice came from above the maze, followed by a sociopathic laugh. The strings tightened on the puppets, making them attack Kye with different body parts; some with their arms, some with their legs, some with their heads, and so on. It was going to be hard to dodge them all.
(Kye’s the first to come across… you know, someone like that XD)
"Good God!" Kye threw his hands up ducking back, as he did so a bubble appeared around him causing the attacks to bounce off it and not letting anything through. "What the crap…?"
I smell a psycho.
Really? What gave it away?
You better think of some way to blow this joint.
What am I going to do? I am stuck here like this and if I let this shield down I will get pummeled…. Oh my gosh, I have an idea.
He kept one hand up, but with the other he pulled his pack off and pulled a few things out of it. A knife, a small bottle of a thick dark liquid, the small bag of powder from earlier, and what looked like some kind of torch. He then looked up and search through the bodies circling him trying to pinpoint where they were being controlled from. "Listen, sir? I am politely going to ask that you move your puppets away before I move them away. I do not think you really want me to do that so please move them away," he called.
(He would be the one unlucky enough to run into someone like this.)
”If life was that easy, people wouldn’t be ending up this way now right? If you think you can just ask people to do things for you with a threat in store, then you’re a fool who don’t deserve life as a gift—“ a voice echoed through the halls as some of the puppets moved around, some with necks bent, wrists cracked, eyes gouged, all in all a fearful sight.
”With that said…” as the voice echoed, the corpses were straightened and looked straight at Kye with their dead gazes, following was a laugh ”… let me take…” the several ten corpses each pulled out a variety of weapons from their bodies ”…LET ME TAKE THAT PRECIOUS LIVING ESSENCE OF YOURS——!!” the puppets charged at Kye again, this time with more complexity in their attacks.
Kye put up both his hands and the bubble grew darker, indicated it strengthening. The only problem with that was that he couldn't see out as well. The upside was that what was on the outside couldn't see in very well either. "I am afraid you will find this shield to be unbreakable. Physical attacks will do nothing, and magic attacks will only make it stronger. So your attacks are pointless," Kye called out to the figure. "You may also want to consider the fact that though I have never faced you before, you have never faced me, and therefore have no idea what I am capable of. And now that You can not see what I am doing you can not ready yourself for whatever I may do. I highly recommend that you back off sir."
(Oh, I’m sure, after this you’ll know who this is)
”Hmm…? Very well then…” a sharp small object was taken out from the figure who stood some meters above the maze. The figure threw it at the bubble and somehow went straight through and was pierced into Kye’s neck.
After the needle was sunk into his skin, Kye will soon feel a strong fatigue and nausea. Soon after that, he will start to see images from his childhood, either those which have affected him or have traumatized him.
(Remember now? ;P)
(Oooooooooh noooooo, I remember who it is very clearly. You are about to witness just how cruel I am and you are about to learn a little bit about Kye's backstory. I hope you're happy with what you have just done to poor Kye who didn't deserve any of this.)
The image from before flashed in Kye's head, this time clear. He stared at it, it was as if he were there again. His mother stood on a makeshift stage. Arms tied, her face almost glowing white. Purple and black bruises lined her cheek, and eyes. Her clothes were all torn revealing the gashes and bruises across her body. Her arms tied in front of her not at her wrists but higher in order to make sure she couldn't escape from the binds, as her hands had been cut off, and she would have been able to pull out of the ropes had her wrists been tied. But that wasn't the worst part. Her eyes had been gouged out and her mouth had been sewn shut. Yet she was still alive, in that state.
The next image that flashed through his head had taken place moments after. A man in a black mask standing over the body of his mother, holding her head by it's hair, blood spattering the entire stage area and dripping off the sides. Droplets landing on Kye's face, as the image bore into his head.
The next image was of months after. Him, completely alone. Surrounded by darkness. Lost in a cave, a cave that the people he thought were his friends had trapped him in. Clutching a little wooden phoenix in his hand.
In real life Kye had dropped to the ground clutching his head screaming in terror. The force field dematerializing, and only a faint glow of purple covered his body not allowing the weapons to damage him.
Kid! Kid! Snap out of it. Kye!
Gelions words were ineffective as Kye lay there on the ground shaking.
(Okay… I… I was not expecting that kind of story… at all…)
(I’ll let you learn a bit more about this Knight and his ability as well, a bit subtle though)
When the images flashed back inside Kye’s mind, the Knight who was controlling the corpses gagged a bit. He soon jumped down, one hand covering his mouth.
”If only I’ve known sooner…” the shadows revealed a man in a butler like suit, a black and golden cape, and under a golden mask.
(And yet he still smiles.)
Kye shuttered on the ground still holding his head, and not responding. A figure with the same purple tint as the glow surrounding Kye, appeared next to him. He looked like a spirit in the sense that he was semi see-through. "Kye, hey kid calm down it's not here, it's not happening. Kye.." Geloin looked up at the figure, a glare in his eyes. "Make them stop. Now."
The masked figure pulled back once, pulling the needle out as the string also sunk back into the Knight’s skin.
”What… what did this kid go through…” the Knight asked, his face pale and body shaken. The puppets behind him were as rigid as stone, no longer moving.
"Hell, that's what," Gelion snapped. "And you just made him live through it again. He might not recover from this for days."
Kye had gone limp, still shaking every so often, and breathing hard, mixed with sobs. Gelion turned to look at Kye again. Concern clear on his face. "He's lived his whole life with that image constantly in his head. He wasn't even supposed to be alive. His mother only had him because she'd been raped. And then the town they lived in decided that she was a witch so they executed her. Only a few weeks later they decided that Kye was also a monster so they tried to kill him as well. He only barely escaped. Every where we have ever gone, it seems like everyone knows him and hates him."
The Knight looked down at Kye’s shaking body, feeling guilty of what he had just witnessed. No one would believe the Knight, he was sure, but he had experienced something similar to what Kye’s been through in his childhood. Then, something hit him.
”Is he a magic user? Let me rephrase, does he have a magic that can be classified as powerful…?” the Knight asked, a bit shaky his tone was.
Adara stiffened when she heard the men's comment about guests. She wasn't visiting on purpose, of course. Who would? And what the heck was the "Gardens?" She clutched her small knife tighter, tension etched on every line of her face. When the newcomer asked her name, she hesitated. Should she tell him. "…Ada," she said finally, telling him the first name that come to mind, although her face flushed when she realized where she had gotten it from.
(This might be a good point to say this, each of your characters’ storyline will cross and be affecting each other. Meaning, what you do to your story, may have an effect on another’s story, just pointing that out)
(…and this might also be a good time to insert this little guy in, Adara’s love child basically XD)
The green eyed man raised a brow at the ‘guest’s’ reaction to saying her own name.
”You alright there?” the man was a bit concerned at the sudden change in the female’s facial features.
He was going to walk up to check her temperature but that was cut short when the door swung open.
”Greetings mister Matthew!” a small boy with chocolate brown hair and amber colored eyes, wearing a white polo shirt, a black windbreaker coat and a pair of ripped jeans said to the newcomer excitedly.
”Oh… hello Jonathan” the newcomer turned to the child, went over and patted his head.
”You’ve got company?” the childish figure peered his head to the side to look at the female figure in the room.
”Hello miss!” the boy smiled and sent her a wave.
(Sweet!)
Adara's face went blank when he asked her, and she winced. "…Yeah, I'm fine."
A kid came into the room, and not gonna lie, her jaw dropped a little. There were children in here? Why? What- "Oh. Uh… hi?" Adara gave an awkward wave, smiling slightly in what she hoped was a friendly manner. "Um… how are you?" The kid was adorable, she had to admit, but still… WHY WERE THERE CHILDREN THERE? What kind of place was this?
”I’ve been doing great miss, thank you for asking” the child replied.
”Oh right, I’m Jonathan Clove, nice to meet you” the childish figure skipped over and extended his hand, hoping Adara would shake it. His smile was quite pure and lively for a dead child. There were certainly confusing and ironic things in this here place.
"……………." Adara stared at him for a moment. Was this a joke? Then, she grinned at him. He was a child, for fu-goodness sake! He couldn't hurt her… right? She shook his hand, hiding a small, amused smile. "Jonathan, huh? That's a big name fro a small-" she stopped, realizing that it could come off rude if she said that, which was strange because she normally didn't care about feelings. "…Do you have a nickname?"
