Aight,
So—

I’ve gotta warn all of you brave ones first that this time, the story’s gonna be a bit different. We’re going to be exploring darker depths of some of the characters, and the details and information that we’re going to explore ‘together’ are all worth noting down.

Parts of the storyline will be up to speculation and theorizing. Lore, basically.

Anyways, enough of me rambling, you can all start with your characters in their own realms again, and we’ll go from there.

And as always, from me? Always expect the unexpected

Kye stayed crouched in the shadows, at the edge of the cave clearing. He was deep in this cave and had run into something odd. Unsure yet if it was safe or not, he was keeping a distance and observing. He already knew that there was something in this cave that was hunting him, but there was usually something hunting him whether he was under or above ground. Humans, immortals, wizards, witches, beasts of the unknown, name it he'd probably had it chase him at some point.
Deciding it was time to move, he slipped farther into the shadows and slinked around to the other end of the cave.
Have you figured out what it is yet?
No. Have you?
Of course I haven't. What do you think I am a detective?
It is possible, I try and reserve judgement until I know who I am talking to.
Kid you've been stuck with me your whole life.
A wonder that I am not yet insane.

There were the sounds of footsteps in and around the darkened cave system. Though it sounded humanoid, the echoey sounds that followed almost immediately after was not. It resembled mumbled cries, perhaps whining of spirits or souls…
Then the emitter of the sounds appeared, cloaked and withered as if buried for centuries on end. They looked human but was clearly isn’t. There was no way a human could ever look like they’ve been through several thousand wars and still look alive and well. They stopped moving at one point, breathed in, and spoke out clearly:
”Do you ever wish to bring someone from the dead… back to life?”

(If you’re curious, you’ve met this character before)

(Well I can guarantee that you just gave both Kye and his companion heart failure, even though they won't show it.)
Kye flinched at the fact that whoever this was had spoken to him. At first he didn't respond, but then decided to step out of the shadows so the figure could see him. An image flashed in his head, but he quickly shook it away.
Kid, warning flags are raising.
Already raised.
He looked at the figure again. "Thought about it, decided that it was probably not the best idea."

The figure who was cloaked smirked a bit before using their right hand to open their hood. What was behind the hood was a pale human-like with half of their face skinned off, revealing only the twitching veins and vessels inside while the completed half was giving off a sinister yet sincere smile.
”What would you say if I told you that you can do that here… and now?” the figure asked as they opened their cloak a bit, revealing the sword that was kept sheathed beside them.

Kye looked at the sword and took a step back. Why was he not surprised, by the fact that this figure was threatening him. He studied the figure for a bit longer before relaxing his shoulders, and shaking his head. "You would be unable to kill me if you tried," he sighed. Though he suspected that this figure was much more threatening than he looked.
A faintly purple glow was emitting off of Kye now.
Please don't die.
Not going to try.
Good cause you know-
Yes I know, I die, you die. I caught on to that the first time you told me. The billion other times have not made a difference.

('Night!)

Adara ran down the street, closely pursued by a small group of men, called "police officers," or something. They were a bit fat, and she stayed ahead of them, although she wasn't sure how much longer she could stay moving. Her lungs ached and her throat felt like she had swallowed a handful of nails. Her legs felt like rubber, and her head was heavy. She glanced back and flashed them a smile, putting in speed when she noticed that one of them had gotten closer. On her back, the bag full of stolen items bounced up and down. Once again, Adara wished for her fire. It would have been very useful in a situation like this. But ever since she had been sent her seven months ago, her power had been stifled. She could feel it more often, the pressure building beneath her skin, unable to be set free and offer her relief. Evie had been going to teach her how to get her fire back… until she was killed.
Adara jumped over a box, darting into the nearest alley. She winced when she realized that it was a dead end. Stupid, she mentally berated herself. Stupid, stupid, stupid. You know better than this, Ada.
She turned to the men, flashing them a winning smile. "Hey, boys…"

”What are you saying? I’m not here to kill you… that’s just pathetic…” the figure unsheathed the sword beside them and stabbed it into the ground, creating a portal which was more than wide enough for a person to pass through.
”I’m here to invite you to… the land of the dead whose fates aren’t decided yet” the figure mentioned, gesturing towards the portal.
”Interested?”

The police officers were getting relatively close. A voice soon originated from above the alley, breaking the uncomfortable silence.
”Unless you all are looking for a death wish, don’t step any closer to her” a figure in a white and blue coat, masked in a crystalline and polygonal cyan mask, spoke out loud in a confident voice.

One of the officers got out a simple pistol and shouted out the word: “Freeze!!”

The coated figure eyed the pistol a bit…
”Right—“ within the space of a second, the figure was in front of all the officers as he repeated the officer’s word of ”—Freeze…”

The officers were a tad bit shocked but were more afraid when they saw that their bodies were turning into ice as within the next ten seconds of suffering, some ice sculptures were formed in the dark alleyway.

The figure sighed before looking back towards Adara.
”You were missing someone… someone who died, were you not?”

Kye looked at the ground, and the image flashed in his head again. Blurry and not easily distinguishable, but Kye knew what it was. He shook it from his head and looked at the portal again. "What is this place exactly?"
DON'T YOU DARE CONSIDER GOING INTO THAT THING!!!!!!
Good Lord God almighty, why of all the demons to be stuck with, did you give me this one?
……….

All these years and that has to be the first time I have ever heard you say something like that.
Really?
Yeah, I think so.
Huh, well anyways I was planning on going with him.
NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

”A place for the dead yet undead. The locals are known by other realms as Phantoms… the place’s name…?” the figure pulled their sword out from the ground beside the portal and sheathed it ”The Soul Labyrinth, is what we would like our ‘home’ to be called”

Kye looked directly at the person standing in front of him. "If I were to go there, could I return here?"
Why are we considering this?
Why not? Remember, if the question is why the answer is why not.
Why not…. hmmm let me think of all the reasons why not. Let's see; you could die, I could die, we both could die, death could happen, destruction and death, and did I mention how we could die?
All very unlikely possibilities. The worst that could possibly happen is that I get injured. Cool your jets and shut your ever moving mouth.
