"No one is going to hurt anyone." Riann countered, intent on making them trust Felix.

"Sorry," Breeze shrugged, "But this empath doesn't lie."

Cade rolled his eyes as he mumbled. "Whatever you say." Out of everyone here, he probably trusted Riann the most with Silene at a close second. If Riann trusted him, there had to be something good about him.

Riann glanced at Breeze and back to Cade, casting a look that said, Watch her. She turned back towards Felix and Alyssa. "Is it finished?"

He nodded at Riann, watching Breeze cautiously. Cade fiddled with one of the bracelets on his wrist.

Breeze shrugged and began working with the snakeroot.

Cade peered over at the weird…plant…thing that Breeze was working with. He stayed silent for a few seconds before speaking. "What're you making?"

"Not making anything," Breeze responded, "I found over the years that herbs store better in a powder and it saves me some time since most of the remedies require it in powder form."

"Remedies? Do you make medicine?"

Felix watched the people around him, trying not to wince when the cloth dug into his bloody, sandy scrapes a bit too tightly. The boy that looked like him was probably hostile. The girl next to him was seemingly harmless. The girl bandaging his scrapes was hopefully a nice person. There was another girl over there. And another one. And of course Riann. He fidgeted a bit, there's a lot of girls.

"Remedies? Do you make medicine?"

"If it helps you sleep at night," Breeze laughed to herself, "Then yes."

Cade tilted his head. "What do you make then, poison?"

"What do you think I'm working with right now?" she asked him.

He looked at the plant she was holding. "I don't know…onions?"

"It's snakeroot," Breeze said if it was obvious.

"Mhm, alright." Cade responded, obviously not interested.

Breeze rolled her eyes and continued working.

Alyssa took a step back. "Done." She said softly, avoiding looking at Felix.

Cade smiled slightly at the engraving on the inside of one of his bracelets; a black leather one. Happy birthday Cade! From you favorite (and only) sisters, Ella and Allie. He leaned his head back against the wall, still watching Breeze.

Breeze finished off the snakeroot. A separate capsule was dedicated to it. She sighed and pulled out the hemlock.

Cade crossed his arms again as he watched Breeze do…whatever she was doing.

"Do you have to stare at me?" Breeze looked up and asked him.
