(Pfft Yeah, ‘well’. I’m a literal wreck)
Lola tilted her head. “Well, considering the fact that the rates of depression among teens has sharply increased over the last few years because of school, I think it’s fair that you’d ask for help.”
Lloyd nodded. "I suppose so… I just don't know how. Those guys have a reputation, and no one knows who I am. I doubt anyone I told would really believe me. After all, they don't know me. For all they know, I could be lying to tear down their favorite jocks' reputation."
Lola’s head hurt just from thinking about high school. “Just hold out ‘till you get to college, high school is hell, college is much better, trust me. No one tries to steal your….. never mind. Much less smoking if weed as well.”
"More alcohol in college, though. I'm not too worried about drugs or beer or anything. I have no interest or need for such things."
“Good. And university is great because the people there actually want to be there to learn.”
"Or they wouldn't have gone to college. I agree with high school being hell though. I remember elementary school. Not as clearly of course, considering that's when I skipped grades, but it was so much easier."
“Oh yeah. Middle school was one big petty group of people trying to act like high schoolers, elementary school was a piece of cake, high school was hell, and university is basically just school again but this time a good use of your time. Actually, scratch what O said about high school. Hell would be preferable to going through that again.”
Lloyd laughed softly. "Like hell but full of angsty teens who don't know what they're doing."
“But act like they own the world.”, Lola finished. She swung her legs under the table, remembering with a start that she still needed to take her estrogen. “Crap.”, she muttered.
"What? Is something wrong?"
“Nothing.”, she said quickly. “Just forgot something.”
"Okay." Lloyd figured it'd be best if he didn't ask what. If she wanted to tell him, that was her business. If she didn't want him to know, then he felt it wasn't his place to pry for information.
Trying to move the conversation along, Lola fiddled with her little heart earrings. “So, are you going to the big Jazz Night in Trinity Sqyare tomorrow?”
"Um, I wasn't planning to. Large crowds stress me out." I think there's supposed to be something else there, stupid. "B-but if you want to go, I…" Go on. "I-I can go with you, if you want." That was pathetic, but okay.
She smiled. “Great. I figured since you’re going to be coming to Oak(I forget the name of the university) anyways, might as well get to know eachother.”
Was that a yes or no to coming from her? I…. don't know? Am I going to Oaksville? Apparently so. Hmm. "Er, y-yeah. I guess so."
Lola smiled a little wider. He’s pretty cute., she admitted to herself before immediately feeling guilty. He was what, 16? 17? And she was 19.
"So… um… is there something you want to know?" No, you ask a question first, stupid. Oh, right. "Um… w-what's your favorite… punctuation?" You.. oh my g-.. what? Why? PUNCTUATION. You're such a nerd.
(Lol)
Feeling bad for him, Lola considered his question. “I like semi colons.”
(Lmao that's actually my go to question tho. Or what's your favorite element. I like Semi colons and Phosphorus) :D)
A slight pink tint came to Lloyd's cheeks. "Yeah, same! People don't really know how to use semi colons, but I like to use them when possible." Please just stop you're embarrassing yourself. Am I? YES. You're TALKING about SEMI COLONS.
(XD)
Lola chuckled. “If you had tree wishes that you could only use for yourself, what would they be?”
(My go to question)
"Hmm… " YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT SEMI COLONS IN PUBLIC MIGHT I ADD. Shush. "I guess a more efficient way to carry books, to be more wise, and…" Don't you dare say it. You don't need to share anything personal. Stop it. She'll ask QUESTIONS! "To be able to live with my parents again…" NOW you've done it!
Lola paused, wanting to ask but knowing that would be a terrible idea. “Oh.. that’s— cool., she managed to say, concern flickering in her eyes. “I’d probably wish to have been born a girl, have my own little art attic, and to have my dog be alive.”
You're lucky she didn't ask. You just got lucky this time. She'll ask eventually, mark my words. You're in my HEAD. You're just a voice, leave me alone. Lloyd nodded. You've made it awkward. Shut up. "Oh, um.. you like art?"
