@blue_topaz
"you okay?"
"you okay?"
"What? Yeah, I'm good." Lloyd snapped back to reality. Stop zoning out, stupid. Shut up.
Lola just nodded. “What kind of music do you listen to?”
"Usually classical like Mozart or Irish Folk Songs. Very different, but both calming for whatever reason."
“I listen to quite a bit of classical music too, also some of the older rock artists. Ever heard of David Bowie?”
"I don't think so, but I know the Beatles. They're old rock, right? At least some of their songs."
“The Beatles are also some of my favorites. We have surprisingly similar tastes!”
Yeah tastes…in each other… Charlotte covered her mouth with her hand to keep herself from laughing.
(Lol Charlotte is giving me life rn)
Lloyd nodded. Is this what a conversation is? Talking about common interests? You'd think someone so smart would know that, wouldn't you? Shut up.
(Gtg to bed now, be back sometime tomorrow)
(Aw bye goodnight)
Lola typed her hair back into a shirt ponytail, getting tired of loose strands in her face. “So.”, she started. “What do you think about the whole ‘Trump trying to ban the Pride Parade’ thing?”
(I just made that up in the spot)
(idk whats happening lmao)
Lol I’m just waiting for a reply)
(Sorry)
"I'm not part of that community myself, but I'm not discriminatory. I think he has no right to ban it."
(Np)
Lola nodded in partial agreement (agreement to the no right bit, not the ‘not part of the community ‘ bit). “I agree. So, you know how males and females have different brain shapes?”
"Of course. Why?"
“Well…” Lola smiled in anticipation to his response. “Scientists looked at the brains of transgender people and they found that their brains much more resembled those of the gender they identified with than the gender they were born as, almost 90% of the time. Isn’t that so cool?”
"It's certainly interesting." Lloyd was not a judgmental person. If someone was transgender, gay, or otherwise, he felt that it was their decision and he had no right to reprimand them for it. After all, it was their decision. "I wonder why that is?" Everyone had their secrets and things like that, but no one wanted them spread around.
Lola shrugged happily. “I like to think that there was a little accident when they were being made, it’s cute, Isn’t it?”
"Perhaps… or, perhaps they felt the need to change because they thought so much like the opposite gender. I'd like to ask someone who's made that change to gain more insight, but I believe some people would consider that 'rude'."
“I don’t thibk it’s rude at all, others are different. For me it was a bit of both, I guess.” Lola wasn’t the least bit uncomfortable with opening up about her change in gender, she felt no shame whatsoever. “I like to say that ‘gender is between the ears, sex is between the legs”’
(Sex as in the gender your body is)
"Interesting…" So she's a he, or at least she used to be. Are you trying to confuse me? You know I don't mind. You, or I guess I, just made a poem. I think. Just shut up. "That's a good way to put it." He was male, straight, and had always identified as so, but other people not being that way was okay with him. My mind is like Dr. Seuss, huh?
“Mm. I’m all for casual gender representation, y’know. It’s no big deal, people don’t need to make a scene out of it.”
"I agree. I think if someone decides to change their gender, that's their decision. Who am I to judge? I respect their decision and will do everything in my power to make that person feel comfortable, or use whichever pronouns they prefer."
