"Others?" Skylar asked, "What do you mean?"
"Others?" Skylar asked, "What do you mean?"
"You said that I needed to be careful or others would find out. Who are the others?" Luca asked, trying not to overwhelm Skylar with too many questions at once.
"Oh, I just meant normal peo-," she hesitated, realizing her mistake, "Er, other people."
Luca nodded, starting to understand. "So…do you have a power like I do?"
"N-no, I-I just, uh…" Skylar never was good at hiding things, but she hoped he hadn't noticed.
"How do you know so much about this? Was there a class or something that I missed?" Luca ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't…can you explain…everything? There's you..and Cece and the wolf girl. Then there's the whole water thing…"
"I can't explain much, I just know you shouldn't be so careless," Skylar started to walk out, "Why is Cece strange? I understand why the wolf girl would be, but Cece seems pretty normal,"
When Cece got to the dump, she jumped in an old car and shot the radio with some energy. It switched on to static, and she turned the knob a few times before it stopped on a song she liked. She turned the volume up and got out of the car, Centuries filling her ears. She threw energy orb after energy orb at a pile of metal. Some legends are told, some turn to dust or to gold… she lip singed the lyrics, dancing on her feet to the music.
"Well, she just acted weird. Normally I would think that it was normal but with all the stuff happening…it seems off to me." Luca crossed his arms, thinking to himself. "I'll try to be more careful though."
Skylar nodded, "I'll leave then, just don't be so open with your powers or other, uh, normal people like me will notice," she put the emphasis on normal, perhaps a bit too much emphasis.
Luca looked at her suspiciously, now catching on. "Mhm…normal…"
Boom! The pile toppled to the ground as she hurled an orb the size of a basketball at it. "Crap, that was loud!" she exclaimed, covering her ears.
"Anyway, just, be more careful," Skylar darted out of the room, "Thank you for letting me come for a bit," she told whom she assumed to be Luca's mom before running back to her own home.
Luca watched her run out. "It was nice to meet you too." This girl was weirder then he thought originally. He heard a big crash from outside and Luca jumped. He rushed over to the window in his room, looking for the source of the noise.
"I really hope no-one heard that…" Cece sighed, switching off her music so she can hear if there's any commotion.
Skylar heard the crash and decided to check it out and make sure no one was hurt. She saw a girl next to a pile of junk and a radio that needed to be plugged in playing. There was no outlet in sight. The girl quickly turned it off. She ran up to the girl there, "Are you ok?"
(I'm gonna go for tonight)
Luca couldn't see anything from the window, but he did see Skylar run past his apartment on the sidewalk.
(I have to go for now bye!)
"Yeah, I'm… alright," Cece replied, not very convincingly.
(See you guys!)
(Bye!)
Luca sat down in his bed, trying to put together everything that had happened. Skylar said that this power…he had to hide it. That seemed obvious to him now. She was obviously hiding something, and that Cece girl seemed slightly suspicious too. Luca already knew that the wolf girl had powers…maybe she was the one he needed to talk to.
Ashira was back at her apartment, she looked through her notebook occasionally scribbling down some Norse symbols. She very quickly got bored and decided to walk around town, as a human for once.
Skylar cocked an eyebrow, "Ok… and how was that radio playing just now? I saw you turn it off right after the crash," Skylar walked over to the radio and tried to turn it on to no avail, "and I can't even turn it on," Skylar knew there was something fishy going on here, or maybe it was just the fish bodies there, "Explain."
Luca ran out of his apartment again, but changed his pace once his feet hit the sidewalk. He walked quickly, searching for Cece to give him answers.
