"But if she's capable of sensing a mind," Dylan countered, "How did the father get by her?"
"I– I don't know…" Avery trailed off. Her eyes widened as she thought of something. "I have to call her. Right now."
She raced into a spare room and fished her phone out of her pocket, then quickly dialed her friend's number. A short while later, she came back into the kitchen, cheeks tear-stained but a slight smile on her lips.
(I know I take awhile in between posts. I'm trying my best, and make no mistake this is pretty much my main roleplay atm. But I do scouts and robotics, so I might be awhile sometimes.)

(It's fine! I've got things, too.)
He stood up expectantly as she entered, "What is it?"
Avery took a deep breath before sitting down and explaining, "She's in the hospital, but she's going to be okay. Turns out, she tried to keep Sam safe, but his dad was too much for her. He shot her, but not in a fatal spot. She's going to be fine."
(Just so no one's confused, I just took the "Writer" off my username. Everyone just calls me Sorceress, anyway, so I figured, "Eh. May as well.")
(Okay good, I was about to stab you.)
Dylan sighed, relieved, and then yawned. He looked up, suddenly ashamed, "My apologies, it's been a bit since I slept. So we sleep tonight, and go to visit your friend tomorrow before we leave tomorrow night. Sound like a plan?"
(Okay good, I was about to stab you.)
(What?!? Why?!?)
"Yeah," Avery agreed. She yawned next, then gave Dylan a slightly-embarrassed smile before stating, "They're contagious."
(Because if one more person died I was going to cry and then stab someone. Time skip?)

(Oh, lol. Yes, let's.)
(I'll write the skip if no one else wants to.)
(Go on ahead, I guess.)
Avery woke up to bright sunlight gleaming across her eyes and filling the spare room she was in. With a groan, she rubbed her eyes and sat up. She quickly checked her reflection in the mirror and combed her fingers through her hair a few times to tame it a bit. Seeing as she hadn't brought anything with her, it seemed she would be stuck wearing the same clothes for a while.
She walked into the kitchen and noticed that neither of the guys was awake yet. With a shrug, she started making a pot of coffee, then set to making eggs for herself.
If they boys want food, they'll have to make it themselves, she thought with pre-coffee grumpiness.
Vaughn slowly woke up, his head throbbing sharply from a terrible hangover. He groaned in pain, rubbing at his face. He froze and frowned in confusion. His hands were.. wet? He blinked to clear spots from his vision, looking down at the bright red, metallic smelling liquid coating his hands. He lept from the bed, noticing that both of his palms were gashed open. His eyes went to the knife that he kept on the bedside table, and it had a bit of fresh blood. He cursed form the stringing pain and stumbled to the bathroom, wrapping his bleeding hands tightly and cleaning the blood off his face.
Dylan woke the way he usually did. His mind ran its little startup sequence, bringing itself up to speed before he even opend his eyes. The little bit of alcohol he had drank last night he had slept off, with little hangover. Still, he felt a little uneasy as he got to his feet. He pulled the onyx stone pouch back around his neck and slid down the stairs. The warm scents of fresh coffee and eggs filled his nose, and his stomach rumbled.
"Is the coffee open for taking?" He asked, seeing Avery in the kitchen working on some eggs.
"Not until I've had some," she grumbled, not looking up from her eggs. "Is it done already?"
"It's getting there, sit tight, " he said, holding out his hands in a chill out a bit manner, "it'll be done by the time those eggs are. I'll pour you some." He offered.
"Thanks. I haven't had coffee in forever," Avery exclaimed dramatically as she finally finished making her eggs. She piled them onto a plate and sat at the table.
Dylan started up his own set of eggs and then poured two cups of coffee, using a formation for his own to save dishes. He brought Avery her cup, then went back to the kitchen to continue making his eggs.
Avery thanked Dylan for the coffee with a silent nod, then sipped it slowly with her hands wrapped around the mug.
Okay, so we're going to visit Scarlet (Psyonic's real name) for a while, then make a plan for this crazy mission, then go on said mission, she ran through the day's plan in her head, while staring blankly across the room.
Vaughn eventually came downstairs, not seeming as dressed up as he usually is. He rummaged through the cabinets, finding headache pills and taking a few with water, along with two pills from an unlabeled bottle.
"Good morning, Sunshine," Avery muttered around her cup, still staring off into the distance. Her coffee hadn't quite taken effect, yet.
