Enlyn was truly shocked he still wanted her to go with him. "I-" she cut herself off not wanting to dig the hole any deeper. "Right." And with that they walked. To Enlyn it felt like ever step might be her last. not just a graze. she thought to herself.

They walked on. Rigel didn’t say much, other than coughing a little. It just felt so silent, it didn’t sit well with him. He felt like he needed to break the silence somehow, so he finally asked, “Are you religious?”

@Dirt

Enlyn gave Rigel a sideways look, "should I be? I mean if there was some kinda God out there don't you think they'd have stopped this from happening? At least saved the good people. The ones that should have survived." She thought of her brother in his last days, even on deaths door he'd never changed. That's what boiled her blood. Even though he was dying he still had hope. Some thing that she'd lost. "So no, I don't really think I am. You?" Her voice wasn't angry, more like empty, unfeeling.

@Rvan group

“Yeah. I believe in God, if not I would be dead by now,” Rigel let out a fond laugh at himself, his memories, “You know about the book of Revelations? I think that’s why this is all happpening.” Rigel said, glancing up at the sky while he spoke.

@Dirt

"Revalations?" Enlyn asked confused before laughing herself. "And you think some book brought us together?" She kept from laughing more not wanting to offend Rigel again. "What power could a book even have." It was less of a question more of a statement. But she was a bit curious.

@Rvan group

“It’s from the Bible,” Rigel explained with a light smile at nothing in particular, “It’s the word of God. The book doesn’t have some ‘magic’ powers or perfect answers, God is the one who protects us. God brings us together,” He corrected, then continued, “And the book of Revelations is actually about the end of the world, kinda.”

@Dirt

Enlyn remembered how after her brother she cursed Gods very name. "Well then God isn't on my side." She shook her head stumbling for a moment, "and if this book was about the end of the world why would so many people not be perpered then?" Her voice raising a challenge.

Rigel huffed, “God is on everyone’s side, it’s you who doesn’t accept his help. When’s the last time you prayed?” Rigel raised his eyebrows at her, then continued, “People aren’t ‘prepared’ because there are restrictions and laws against the Bible in a lot of places in the world. And some people don’t bother to read the Bible at all,” He looked at the ground as he shook his head, “It don’t think it’s a ‘fairy tale’ if governments ban it.”

@Dirt

"The last time I prayed?" Enlyn thought for a moment before Speeking again, "never I believe." She shrugged again. "And trust me. If he'd even tried to help-" she cut herself off tears rising to her eyes. She looked at her feet hoping Rigel wouldn't see.

Rigel was too focused in his own thoughts, “I once made a suicide attempt. Not too much before the diseases started. But a held a loaded gun to my head and pulled the trigger. It didn’t fire. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, I even shot the ground successfully right afterwards. I tried again, and it still didn’t work. I heard God’s voice, Enlyn. He told me I had a better purpose than just dying right there,” Rigel smiled, wiping a stray tear from his face, “I’m so glad He stopped me.”

@Dirt

"Huh. Sounds like an experience." Enlyn continued to look at the ground not wanting to continue this conversation of God. "well I'm glad you're alive still. To bad for you though, it means you had to meet me." She joked trying to lighten the mood.

@Rvan group

“Hey, I’m glad I met you,” Rigel responded with his own light laugh, then coughed a few times before looking at her, “How’s that gash doing?” Hopefully he could look at it later tonight, make sure it was okay enough.

@Dirt

"Oh other then the fact I'm sure they had Poision on their arrows, I think its healing just fine." Enlyn looked down at the gash. It looked red and inflamed around the edges and seemed to ooze out a clear liquid. "But not entirely sure."

@Rvan group

“Are why didn’t you tell me about poison sooner?” Rigel asked bitterly, halting his steps and commanded, “Sit down.” If she dies… Rigel needed to do something. “Seriously…” He muttered, crouching down to inspect her leg.

@Dirt

"No- its not deadly." Enlyn stumbled for a moment when he stopped, "its fine I can ride it out." She knew of the poison that jacks group used, "it only makes you sick. I'll be fine."

@Rvan group

“Sit down,” Rigel repeated, “You at least have to clean it out. It’s bad enough you’ve let it sit this long unattended,” Rigel slung his backpack off his shoulders an rummaged through it for his canteen of clean water, for emergencies.

@Dirt

"Its fine." Enlyn protested even though she sat down welcoming the rest for her leg. "As you said we should keep moving. Its not like it'll kill me." at least I hope so she added in her head.

@Rvan group

“We should keep moving, but this is more important long term,” Rigel said, unscrewing the canteen and pouring a little on her wound. He rummaged through his bag, looking for whatever he cut use to make it better for the rest of the day. He chewed on his lip, “You are immune, right? Where did that scarf go…?”

@Dirt

"I have no idea." Enlyn talked as if she really didn't care. But she did. She wanted the infection. To have an excuse to die. To feel the pain of her family members. She pulled the scarf from her bag, "you really don't wanna use it as a mask?" She asked. Enlyn didn't want to look hurt when they arrived at the next town, or when another human spotted them.

@Rvan group

Rigel made an apologetic look, “I can’t,” He took the scarf and, after watering his wound again, tied it up, “At least it will prevent further infection.” He packed up his canteen again and helped Enlyn up, “Alright, now we really need to pick up the pace.”

(Timeskip to later?)

@Dirt

(Sure!)

Enlyn's wound had been healing but the fast pace they'd kept up was waring her out. "could we- could we stop after we find some shelter?" She asked glancing around the open field uneasy. She knew it'd be hard to sneak up on them here, but then again it'd also be hard to hide.

@Rvan group

“Of course, I think we’re far enough ahead,” Rigel said, then squinted at the horizon, “I don’t have perfect vision, but does that look like… like a barn to you?” He asked hesitantly, trying not to get his hopes up.

@Dirt

Enyln looked and saw a red dot in the distance. "Holy heck I think so…" She trailed of glancing around again to make sure they weren't being watched or followed. "Lets get going." Her tone uneasy. Enlyn had relied on the cover of trees for so long that it felt so unnatural to be in the open.
