"When I enevitbly die a grosom death at the hands of his friends I will hold you personally responsible. its not like Jack was the one who gave the orders and was the one who told them not to kill me!" She shouted in anger. "This is great. Just great." She shook her head.
Rigel shrunk back slightly, the persona of the invisible man gone once again, “Sorry. They just- Sorry. I didn’t know.” Rigel shook his head, “Blood is gonna attract a lot of things, so we should get moving.”
"Yeah." Enlyn sighed and took Jacks arrows not bothering to take anything else. "You killed the man might as well let his group know. Either way they'd find out, But something tells me it'd be more fun to taunt them first." A grin tugged at her lips "either way we die." She shrugged.
“I’m running on borrowed time anyways,” Rigel shrugged, “Might as well leave a signature.” He walked up the the body, dipped his fingers in the blood and scrawled on the floor.
-Rigel
Rigel shook blood off his hand, stood, and headed out of the building.
"Hey" she said following after him. "Lets form a group." Enlyn smiled at Rigel. She had a feeling being on his good side was a good idea.
“An alliance?” Rigel mused quietly as he stalked out of the building, “If you say so, but just so you know, I’ll probably bring more trouble than good. There’s a reason why I haven’t settled down anywhere,” Rigel said, still trying to flick the blood off his hands.
"Eh, I've been in need of something new. Ruten may keep you alive. But its not that fun." She shrugged and walked a bit faster to keep up. "Also- just a little fyi you're walking towards a really big sink hole" Enlyn knew this area far to well. She'd watched friends die to mother nature and others die to Jack and his group.
“Ahh, I guess you’ll have to lead the way then?” Rigel said, scratching off the blood fro his dagger and following Enlyn.
"Right!" Enlyn said almost excitedly. It'd been a few years since she'd had a group. Even if said group consisted of one person. They walked for a few minutes before coming to a rather large tree that went almost straight up into the sky with little to no branches at the bottom. "How does sleeping in a tree sound?" She asked grinning.
“Alright. Is there a stream nearby? I need to wash,” Rigel didn’t bat an eyelash at the the tree, more focused on the blood on his hands and dagger and his shirt. He’d need to get rid of it. He could focus of the tree later.
"Yeah just over there," Enyln pointed to a kinda man made stream. It wasn't very big but it was close enough that she could make sure no wild animals, or people decided to sneak up on them. "You wash up and I'll figure out a way into this tree." She slung her bow onto her back with her arrows and bag, and looked for possible way up.
Rigel nodded, already taking off his shirt to reveal his bare chest, which to Rigel’s satisfaction was still in good shape, despite hunger wearing on him. He washed his hands in the stream, taking extra care with his dagger then dropping his shirt in the stream. Rigel watched it float down and away. Hopefully it would redirect the animals. He’d get a new shirt next time his found one, it’d be better to go shirtless than with a strong scent. He came back, water still dripping down his chest and arms as he approached the tree. He felt the bark, searching to see if it was sturdy and textured enough to climb.
Enlyn looked down at Rigel from a branch shed managed to climb to, "what the heck" she said holding back a laugh, "someone steal your shirt?" She joked before looking away and going back to climbing up as high as the branches would hold her. After finding one that seemed wide enough to sit on and not fall to her death in the middle of the night she asked, "hungry? I was able to find a few cans a few weeks back and had been saving them…but something tells me now's as good as time as any to eat em'" her accent sneaking it's way back into her voice. Enlyn tried to hide it when she was a kid so others wouldn't make fun of her but over time it faded only sometimes making an appearance.
“First of all, would you rather I wear something with the stench of blood, attracted all the monsters in the area?” Rigel started hoisting himself into the tree, gripping onto the bark tightly, “And as hungry as I am, it’s your find, your food. I don’t need it right now,” John finished, despite the hunger that kneaded on his stomach. He got himself to a tall branch, not far from Enlyn, and sturdy. He hung his backpack from it, double checking it was secure.
(Oof sorry. I lose rps in the sea of others sometimes. But like thanks for saying something I was just looking for this one. Lol)
Enlyn cocked her head, the word monsters threw her off a bit. Sure there where lots of wild animals out, but she'd never thought of them as monsters before. "Strange" she mumbled pulling out a can of food and tosing it to Regil. "Eat up." She said a cheerful smile crossing her face.
(Lol ur good)
Rigel caught the can with grace, curling in the tree branch and cracking it open, “Thank you.” Gosh it smelled heavenly, he hadn’t had a meal in too long. He looked at Enlyn one last time before eating, “Are you- Are you really sure you don’t want this?”
"Its not gonna make a difference one way or another." Enlyn said with a shrug. There'd always be more food, And its not like she needed it anyway. She popped open her own can and ate the dried peas inside. Not the best taste in the world but better then starvation in her opinion.
Rigel slowly took off his mask, revealing his lips, which were a scarred mess. They were slightly swelled, it seemed like they always were, and little indents of scar ran up and down them, almost making a look of stitches. Rigel nearly devoured the can, then composed himself and ate less… savagely. He tried to turn his head away so Enlyn wouldn’t see them too much, but she was bound to have noticed.
Enlyn tried not to pay attention. Everyone has their stories. Their scars. Even she had a scar that she also went threw lengths to hide. "I'll take first watch" she said finishing then tosing the can to the ground. And by first watch she ment she'd stay up all night. Sleep was hard these days anyway.
“Okay,” Rigel replied, finish the food and slipping his mask back on faster than a hare. He double checked his pack was strapped tightly to the tree, then looked at Enlyn, “Wake me up when you need sleep, alright?” He leaned back on the branch, wedging his foot in the tree so if he rolled off the side he would just snap his leg in the wrong direction rather than fall and snap his neck.
"Don't worry. I will." Enlyn had her bow ready and an arrow knocked ready for what the night might bring. Nothing. The sun rose in the morning leaving an end to a very unaventful night. "Hey. Psst. Rigel. Wakey wakey." she said dropping a stick on his heads.
Rigel jerk awake, already holding a knife at the person’s neck. He relaxed when he recognized her as Enlyn. Rigel shyly tucked the knife away, “Uh, sorry,” He looked around, to see the sun already risen. He rose his eyebrows at Enlyn, “You were supposed to wake me up last night.”
"Uh-huh." Enlyn said rubbing her neck and pulling back. "You said to wake you when I needed sleep. I didn't need any. I slept yesterday before we found each other."
“You should’ve slept,” Rigel grumbled tiredly, unwedging his foot from the tree and stretching like a cat, “We’re going to walk all day, you need energy for that.”
