She stood up and pulled a camera from her bag.

Jay's shirt wasn't on, so he just held still.

She took pictures of his ribs. “Anywhere rose?” She asked.

He thought for a moment, then shook his head. "Not really."

She nodded. “Okay. The doctor wants you to stay here overnight. Do you have any relatives you feel safe staying with?”

He nodded, then shrugged. "I…I haven't really met many of them. My grandparents are dead, and…and I haven't met any of my aunts or uncles since I was little."

“We can possibly try to contact them but most likely you’ll have to spend a few days in a group home. What about your mother?” She asked.

"Oh. She…she needs out too." he replied softly, biting his lip.

She nodded. “Hopefully we can get enough evidence to put away your father for a long time,” she said reassuringly. “I’ll come back tomorrow and let you know what I could make happen.”

He nodded a little bit. "Okay. Thank you." he said quietly.

She stood up and left the room. Finn walked in a moment later. "I talked to the nurse and she said I can stay the night if you want," He said sitting next to Jay.

Jay nodded. "Please stay?" he asked, looking up at Finn.

Finn nodded. "I will," he said. "how did it go with the social worker?"

"Fine." he replied softly, looking up at the other. "I guess? i don't know."

He nodded. He wrapped an arm around Finn.

Jay leaned into him, taking a deep breath.

Finn leaned on him. “Everything’s going to be ok,” he whispered.

He closed his eyes, staying cuddled up close. "I know."

“I love you,” he whispered again laying next to him on the hospital bed but made sure there was enough room so Jay could lay without hurting his ribs.

Jay snuggled close to Finn. "I love you too." he whispered back.

Finn smiled and held him. His arms loosely wrapped around Jay.

Jay stayed snuggled close, taking deep breaths.

Finn closed his eyes but didn't go to sleep.

(hahahaa same here lol)

Jay was starting to fall asleep, pressed close to Finn's side.
