"I hate to bring this up, but your mother hates me now. She was pretty angry and if you go back there it won't be good for either of us." Darren frowned and yawned again.
"I hate to bring this up, but your mother hates me now. She was pretty angry and if you go back there it won't be good for either of us." Darren frowned and yawned again.
"We need a -yawn- a plan," Darren repeated.
Lillian got quiet, "I could go alone, deal with whatever wrath she has left. You don't have to do anything."
Darren quieted, not making eye contact with Lillian. Lack of eye contact is what he did when we was upset. He'd done it since his mom died, it was easier that way.
Lillian sat up and looked down at the ground. She messed up again, why does she do this? Every time something good enters her life she messes it up. Everything's her fault.
"I can't handle the thought of them laying a hand on you and it's gonna be bad this time. I shouldn't have come into your house. It hurts me to say that but I know I made things worse for you." Darren picked at his fingernails.
Lillian looked at Darren, "I'm really grateful that you came. I just wish my dad would do something other than let my mom lead. Then maybe my life would get better."
Darren sat down on the edge of the bed, still refusing to make eye contact. "That doesn't change anything." He sat quietly.
Lillian moved closer. She held in her groans of pain, she put her hand on his knee, "If it wasn't for you and whatever you did, I would sill be there. Probably in even worse shape. You did something good for me."
Darren tried to look into her eyes but stopped at the freckles that graced the bridge of her nose, close enough. Darren yawned still not making eye contact but staring at Lillian's freckles. "We still have to so something…"
(Sorry I was eating lunch.)
(It's cool.)
Lillian sighed, "Any ideas?"
"Not really." Darren laid down face first onto the bed. He spoke again but between his mumbling and his face being buried in a comforter, it wouldn't be understood.
He suddenly stood up, "Actually I do have an idea! It might not work though…"
Lillian looked up at him, her legs were crossed and she was leaning on the palms of her hand, "What is it?"
"I'm going to invite you mom to lunch. She won't hurt us in public and we can talk. The tricky part is getting her agree." Darren's smile hadn't returned.
Lillian thought for a second, "Just offer to take her to some fancy place. As long as she doesn't pay for it, she doesn't care who it takes her."
"mmkay." Darren looked Lillian in the eyes for the first time since she woke up. "This could work." He smiled triumphantly.
Lillian smiled, "It really could!"

(K, bye.)
(I’m doing this on my phone now so I’ll be on and off.
(Gotcha.)
“If you give me your moms number I’ll contact her and make plans”
Lillian handed Darren her phone, "It's one of the first numbers on there."
