( I think that's fair it also allows for @ScarletAndHerSides to be able to introduce her character smoothly.
(Can we RP now? Also, when will they dock for supplies? I dunno, it seems like a good way to bring in Kimber.)
(Hello?)
( They haven't even left last time )
(Okay, thought they had just set sail.)
Simon Hayes - Captain
Today was the day. Simon donned his captain's hat and long trench coat. He paused briefly to check his reflection, casting himself a grin as he adjusted his collar. If he was going to impress the new crew he might as well look his best. Pulling his pocket watch out of his jacket he clicked it open, watching the seconds tick by. A dramatic entrance was always perfectly timed. At exactly 10 am he pushed open the double doors to his cabin and walked onto the deck. Good, the crew was already gathers. With a flourish he turned and strode up the stairs, taking position at the helm and looking down at his crew.
"Greetings, ladies and gentlemen," He began, placing his hands on the railing in front of him. "I'm sure those of you who are new can already guess, but yes, I am Captain Poniró Thirío, but you can just call me Captain." Simon grinned at the faces below him, seeking out the new ones in the crowd.
"Now I'm sure you're all eager to set sail, and so am I, but before we go lets make some introductions, shall we?" Simon mused, leaning forward, "How about it crew? Go ahead and introduce yourselves for the newbies so that they know who is what."
Somnium (Alex) - Pilot
Alex sat on the railing of the upper deck, busily braiding her hair into a long french braid. Most of the crew had gathered on the main deck, but seeing as she steered the ship she felt more at home up top and away from the large crowd. To be honest, she still wasn't used to everyone from the old crew, and now they were adding new members in. Alex tied off the end of her braid with a strand of red ribbon and sighed as she heard the doors flying open below.
Her dark eyes tracked the Captain as he ascended the stairs to the upper deck, taking position front and center. He seemed as cheerful and outgoing as always, which was a good thing these days. His declaration of introductions instantly had her stomach doing flips. Maybe he wouldn't notice her sitting behind him.
As the captain spun around, his hand gesturing towards her Alex knew she was doomed. She slid off the railing and slowly approached the front, nearly jumping as the captain threw his arm around her. "This here is my pilot Somnium," Simon introduced.
"Just Alex is fine," the girl corrected, flushing at the mention her her given name. Simon chuckled beside her and removed his arm, nodding at her to continue, his grey eyes sparkling mischievously, "I steer the ship, and will probably tell you how I want the sails. Welcome aboard." She continued, internally dying but on the outside she seemed at least somewhat calm. Seemingly satisfied, Simon let her escape back to her perch.
Alex usually didn't have a problem giving orders, the captain knew that. Her problems lied with one on one conversations or public speaking. It appeared that every opportunity Simon had to put her up front he did so. She was somewhat grateful, seeing as over the years she had gotten much better at it, but every time it left her feeling nauseous. (I'm going with this again)
Fay Evans -Master Cook
The fresh air she'd known most of her life was quickly tainted by the salty, aroma staining it. Never once had the small girl planned to lay a toe on the deck of a ship, and the dog seemed to have the same thoughts,
looking extremely uncomfortable on the hardwood of the deck. His paws slipped every now and then only to quickly catch himself. Fay let out a small laugh under her breath at the large animal's clumsiness.
Everyone's eyes quickly snapped towards the Captain's doors as they opened, listening intently to his words. The girl leaned against the railing of the ship, opposite of the crowd of newly made sailors. "Think they'll last, Ark?" Fay mumbled crossing her thin arms over her chest as the dog snorted and thumped his large tail, laying stiffly beside her feet looking quite bored at the introductions. Why should he care? After all, he was only here to look after the small girl. "You could at least try to seem like you give a **, you know…" Fay mumbled, nudging the dog's side again for him to grunt loudly in disagreement. A few eyes in the crowd glanced around- probably hearing the brutish dogs complains about staying aboard the ship once again.
The girl shrugged at his behavior, leaning down before sitting cross-legged with her palm softly resting upon the animal's back reassuringly; hoping she wouldn't get called out by the Captain to introduce herself to the men and women. Ark simply gave her a quick sideways glance and huffing almost like he was feeling the same
"C'mon, C'mon, with everything falling down around me
I'd like to believe in all the possibilities
yeah yeah yeah
It's getting late, and I, cannot seem to find my way home, tonight."
Name: Jayn
Aliases: Blind Shot / Bluejay (though this one's just for jokes, mostly)
Rank: Gunner / Old
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bisexual
Appearance:
Several years on the sea have left their mark on him. His hands have burn scars from his careless handling of gunpowder when he first joined, though they always seem to be covered in dirty white bandages (so it doesn't happen again). Sadly for him, he stopped growing at the age of twenty-one, at a rather sad height of 5' 7" - which he blames on his parents' genetics (according to him, he's his father's height). A lithe, cat-like man, he weighs around 131 pounds, most of which is muscle, thankfully. With short limbs, it's a wonder how he can run around the ship making sure everything's working.
He has long (shoulder-length) black hair tied up in a ponytail, with the bangs framing his face, and piercing, almond-shaped navy eyes, usually matched by a blank expression that seems perpetually painted to his face. His skin is a dark tan from years on the ship at sea.
As for clothing, he dons whatever he feels comfortable moving around in. Usually, this consists of a thin, long-sleeved shirt of varying colors (but always on the cool side of the spectrum), black trousers, and black boots. Around his neck sits a silver necklace with a cross pendant, and around his left wrist a braided leather bracelet, given to him by his mother and brother respectively. At his waist, a belt to hold the sheathe of his knife named Neptune.
Personality:
Truthfully, he is rather shy, finding it hard to speak out to many at once. Not one to make small-talk, Jayn nevertheless still appreciates the company of those aboard the ship and is a (somewhat ironically) rather grounded person. Calm and collected, he does not panic in a bad situation but rather takes time to reassure those who have. One might say he is hollow, lacking emotion, as he doesn't react positively or negatively too much; nor does he react to taunts or insults unless they are directed at another. Not selfish, but not generous, either. A respectful and polite person, he is usually willing to help others out with their jobs, like cleaning the deck or carrying tools for a carpenter.
A jack-of-all-trades, Jayn found himself a niche in the job of a gunner. Contrary to his disposition, he shoots like a chicken running without its head - haphazardly. If there's any chance the shot will hit, he'll take it. With this kind of hit-or-miss attitude he's earned himself the nickname Blind Shot - though thankfully for the crew and their coffer, most shots he take don't miss.
History:
As a child, he was susceptible to wanderlust, but only truly left home when his brother turned 16 (he was 18). His parents were supportive of him, as they could make their own living well, and let him go to explore. He finds it a bit strange that he never feels the urge to visit or write, much less homesick but brushes it off.
Theme Song:
C'mon by Panic at the Disco & Fun
Other:
Can also cook, clean, and sow (though not very well). That's what happens when your parents are gone all day and you have to take care of a younger sibling.
[JAYN]
He shifted from foot to foot, watching the captain speak. An inaudible sigh escaped his lips and instinctively he crossed his arms across his chest. After Alex spoke, he stepped forwards, a blank expression masking any emotion he might have felt.
"To get this over quickly, I'll go next. You may call me Jayn; some of you might have heard of the Captain's Blind Shot. That's me. I'm a gunner, I set up the guns for shooting to keep our ship safe. We report to Calista, our master gunner," he softly said, stepping back and letting his gaze wander over the members of the crew. ( I know this isn't very long sorry :/ )
Fay Evans - Master Cook
Ark's eyes glared somewhere in the crowd, his body language said he was looking for anyone who posed a threat. The thick fur between the brutes shoulder blades quickly stood on end and poked up once Jayn stepped down back into the crowd. Ark's lips folded up into a silent growl, leaving Fay with a confused glint in her eyes, shrugging it off. "C'mon, might as well get this over and done with…" The dainty woman quickly stood, Ark in tow- a menacing glint in his dark eyes.
Fay huffed under her breath, muttering a quick "Hush up" under her breath, Ark only flicked his tail in response. The woman took long strides to the front of the crowd, hands in her pockets and a bored expression on her face once she stopped, standing dead in her tracks and eyeing the new folk. "Now," Instead of her normal gentle caring tone, her voice remained steady and emotionless. "My name may ring bells for some of you- whether in a good or bad way- I take pride in everything I have done. I am Fay Evans, locally seen as Trigger or Peccatore, known on this ship as Master Cook. Call me what you wish. Before we journey off," She paused. Ark's right ear twitched impatiently.
"Know that yes, I am a woman. Yes, I am the youngest of this crew- but I will not hesitate to set a sailor in their place." The large brute of a canine stood first, putting himself between the girl and the crowd as they silently stepped down. Fay took a quick glance over her shoulder at the faces of the sailors, studying their facial expressions before they quickly moved to the back of the group. Fay's facial features turned back to their usual gentle appear as she sat criss-cross watching for the next person to go up with a palm on the brutes back. While Ark laid with his head between his paws with his eyes closed lazily.
Leah walked out, blinking in the sunlight. She stood by the captain, ears twitching.

Even though the journey hadn't yet started, Marius already felt uncomfortable; from the constant need to balance himself to a strange sensation of vulnerability. To what, he wasn't quite sure. Although the logical side of the doctor reasoned that the ship was solidly built, the churning of the waters below seemed to resonate to his very core. And not in a pleasant way either. Perhaps it was simply a projection of his imagination- stemming from what he supposed, was what others called fear. Tales from early childhood began to surface to mind, but quickly vanished at the entrance of Captain Poniró Thirío.
The legendary man himself. To be honest, Marius had never even caught a glimpse of the famed 'Cunning Beast', though he heard many a great tale about the infamous captain and his crew. True, Black had rarely paid attention to the whispers of men and women, especially those who chose to spend their time idling around a table late into the night, but the name had been uttered so often that he eventually became acquainted with it. While Marius would admit that the man looked at home with his title, the doctor couldn't help but be somewhat disappointed. From what he had heard of the man's feats, despite the irrationality, Marius had always imagined him as some sort of monster.
From the way that that fishmonger had talked, one also could've imagined that the crew resembled the lizard-men of Iumen at the least. As his piercing blue gaze flickered around to each crew member as they introduced themselves, he couldn't help but mentally chide himself. From the start, he had already known that the rumours were greatly exaggerated. In any case, it would have been problematic for him if they had been demons and what not. After all, no one had yet opened up and charted the insides of the strange beasts who lived alongside humankind. The closest thing to a strange beast on this ship was the dog of the second mate. Rather unimpressed, the man remained expressionless; silently familiarizing himself with the faces of the seemingly ordinary looking group.

Although the man was far from lost in his own thoughts as many claimed, Athen found himself in his usual position; leaning against the main mast with a sort of blank expression upon his face. Acutely listening to the crew introduce themselves, he pondered if he would be able to get away with staying silent. After all, many had believed him to be mute. And frankly, he was fine with the new members believing in that. Actually, he was fine with anyone believing that really. It made his life much easier.
As his eyes darted around the ship, it seemed that many of his companions were also reluctant to do so themselves. A quiet sort of sympathy ran through him but he couldn't help but mirror Jayn's slight amusement. In any case, Athen was rather glad that they would be setting out soon. He longed for the days of running around in a crazed frenzy underneath the broiling sun- running the riggings until his hands bled raw. Strange as it may sound, those were the moments that made his blood hum and come alive.
As Fay passed him, Athen's attention couldn't help but be drawn to the dog beside her. To be honest, the child inside of him wanted to pat it, but he knew better than to try. For one thing, he preferred keeping his limbs intact. For another… no, that was pretty much it. As the second mate wrapped up her introduction, Athen felt a flash of alarm as he realized that it was probably his turn to take a go at it. It would probably be better to go right? After all, the Captain had even caught Alex out earlier. Albeit awkwardly, Athen crossed his arms and nodded to the bunch in front of him. "Athen," he said simply. Satisfied with his introduction, he then relaxed some of the tension in his shoulders.

Fay Evans - Master Cook
The day felt as if it were passing slowly- well, slower than most to be exact. Sure, the thought of crossing the sea once again like she had as a little girl excited her, Fay still felt a little at unease with where they were going. Of course Fay had been to Plegia before, but never once did she miss it. The tales the island told were mysteries in themselves, everything once living there was long passed living- reincarnated beasts- is what they called them. Well, it's what she called them. Just like the older men and women of the villages would say, the living and dead weren't made to walk amongst one another.
Fay sighed softly under her breath, leaning and mumbling a few hushed words next to the mighty beast's ear. Ark quickly stood to his paws and trotted back over to where they were before and reached into a large brown duffel bad only to pull out a clear bottle you'd find at a bar filled with liquid. The dog slowly made his way back to the girl, dropping the bottle of clear liquid at her feet. Fay smiled, gently rubbing the matted fur on the animal's neck and cheek as Ark laid back down. The short woman- with little effort- dislodged the cork from the top of the bottle, taking a large gulp of the tasteless liquid before pushing the cork back on and placing it at her side.
Fay watched as Athen introduced himself. She silently wondered about why- of all places- would this six-foot-something man be on a ship to a place so dangerous? As her eyes wandered across the crowd, why were any of these people here? Were they all that excited by the sound of sailing the deep blue they'd forgotten the peril and chaos it could cause? Her soft features lightly scrunched in confusion at her thoughts. The young woman sighed, turning so she could lay on the desk with her head on Ark's side, and instead of growling like he would at any other soul- the animal let out a loud yawn before turning his head and trailing his large tongue across her face. Fay held back a light yelp as she pushed Ark away so he wouldn't lick her face again, closing her eyes listening to the salty wind whipping about every few seconds.
(Guys I might have to drop out of this rp bc I just can't keep up with it.)
(You mean the whole "No theme song thing"? I didn't add it because I forgot, sorry, I'll edit it.)
( No the 2 paragraph and 8 sentence thing)
(aww :( )
Chance O'Malley - Master Striker
Chance watched with an amused smile as the crew struggled to introduce themselves. He knew most of them weren't as charismatic as the captain or as outgoing as himself. In fact, most of the crew was more of the strong silent type unless they were working. Alex looked as uncomfortable as always, Fay was firey and intimidating, Jayn was straight to the point, and Athen was… well… curt.
Chance strode to the front of the group, clapping his hands together. "I'm Chance O'Malley, Master Striker, also know as Bullseye. I hunt down all the good foods and veggies for you with my lovely partner Fiona," He introduced with a somewhat cheerful note. While he was up front he paused to scan the crowd with the new faces, finally casting a grin at the group before retreating to his previous spot.
Simon Hayes - Captain
Simon leaned on the railing with a very amused expression at the proceedings. He loved to watch his crew panic, they rarely ever did that at sea, but here they were all out of their element. It seemed about half the crew had introduced themselves, leaving half the remaining old crew to go. On top of that there was a couple new fish to introduce to the group.
Speaking of new fish, Simon searched out the face of their new surgeon. Ah yes, there he was. His expression certainly looked as empty as he had heard it was. Simon had heard they called him the heartless doctor. How interesting. Simon grinned, eager to get to know this new fellow.
(Alright bye guys.)
( Did i make Abigail mad?)
Fiona Evans - Striker
She walked on her tiptoes- barefoot- as Fiona looked for her sister, the small fox trotted from behind her with a grin. She spotted Fay’s figure and smiled, she quickly ran towards her in glee trying not to bump into anyone when she got closer. Fiona jumped onto her frail sister. “Hello, little sister!” She squealed in happiness and messed up Fay’s long curls. She looked at Ark to see his ears back, and tongue out with the look of an innocent puppy seeing his mother. “Why hello there Ark! How have you been?” She smiled then scratched behind his ear, a soft hum escaping the brutish dog’s throat, happy to be pet.
It took Fiona time to realize where she was as she looked around. She quickly spotted her crew members. “Hi everybody I'm Fiona and he’s Arthur!” She pointed to the tiny fox and gave them a wolfish grin- slightly out of breath. Once again she focused her attention on her little sister “What are you drinking?” She tilted her head examining the glass bottle holding the ominous liquid.
