"Not really, but go ahead," Aurelius replied, his muscles tensing up a bit.
"Not really, but go ahead," Aurelius replied, his muscles tensing up a bit.
Alex nodded, letting his auras flow, trying to restore the other's life aura. Silver moved behind Aurelius to suppport him.
At first, Aurelius didn't feel much. Then, the flow of magic caused a searing pain that started in his chest. He gasped very quietly, but assumed it was normal. Perhaps it was. Then it spread and radiated literally everywhere, from his head to all four limbs. A low whimper rose in his throat, and he let out a few small, choking gasps. He felt like crying out, but he was just able to hold it in.
Silver hugged him, watching Alex.
Alex knew this would hurt, and he created a silence barrier around them, his auras finally finding the fractured life force and repairing it.
Aurelius, with this final action, felt the pain surge like a sudden burst of electricity. He was panting and holding back more cries as the edges of his vision started to go black. Everything suddenly started to fade away as his body decided the pain was too much and he fainted from the sheer amount of it. He would've hit the floor, but he was lucky enough that Silver was holding him.
Silver watched feeling helpless, but he'd already talked to Melody about this, and he knew it had to be done.
Aurelius was in an odd state of weaving in and out of consciousness; he would sort of wake up for a few moments, perhaps make a nearly inaudible noise, stir just a bit, then fall back under. He tried to listen when he could for what the others were saying. Had it failed? Had something gone wrong? Or had it gone right and this was supposed to happen?
Alex finished a few moments later, his aura having restored the majority of the other's aura, slumping back tiredly.
Silver watched him for a moment, before Melody took over and they began to talk about what Aurelius' condition would be.
Aurelius started to come to a little more completely.
"Sil…ver…?" he croaked, not completely aware of what was happening or what they were talking about.
Silver had just finished with Melody when he heard Aurelius. "Aurelius… Hey…. how're you feeling?" he asked, looking down at the other, who's head was in his lap.
Aurelius was having trouble forming words for now, so all he could get out was, "Bad." He let out a heavy sigh and closed his eyes.
Silver frowned, but knew this was normal. "It'll pass soon…" he said, wishing he had the soothing power to help at that moment.
Aurelius nodded in understanding and reached out to hold Silver's hand. His own hand was trembling.
Silver took it, his silver eyes watching the other quietly.
Aurelius felt the pain start to ebb away some. It was still bad, but he was able to relax his muscles, even if only slightly.
Silver sighed, gripping the other's fingers, and massaging the other's shoulder.
"O…kay… I think I can talk now…" Aurelius murmured, "That's good at least… So… did it work?"
"We won't know for sure until your auras stop fluxtating.."
"Oh… okay,"Aurelius let himself relax in Silver's arms.
"Gods, that hurt…"
Silver sighed, "I don't blame you…" he said, "I would use my auras to help.. " he let it hang.
"But don't. You said it'll fade, and I believe that. You're too exhausted to do anything," Aurelius replied, "Besides, I can handle it now."
Silver nodded tiredly, admiring the other for a moment.
Aurelius felt just the slightest of smiles spread over his lips.
"What's that look you've got on your face?" he asked, noticing the way Silver gazed at him.
Silver started blushing, quickly finding something else to study.
Aurelius' soft smile changed into a smirk. So he'd been right.
"How cute…" he murmured, almost completely inaudible.
